A awful experience. At best, it was average. If you want to finger paint until youre almost a teenager and not learn a single thing, they sure go here. Otherwise, I wouldnt recommend it

The principal Dr. Roseboom does not listen to your concerns and its impossible to connect with her and feel like she actually cares about what youre saying or your childs best interests. The gifted kids get better treatment, better teachers and fun activities throughout the year. Example: they get extra field trips. They also do holiday parties, (my daughters class never does.) My child has never had a performance there and shes in 4th grade currently. I truly feel like shes been robbed of a good elementary experience.

This is the only elementary school is the area that doesnt do school plays, no musicals. Parents are never invited to school for awards either. I wish they would involve us more. Being rated a A school doesnt mean much when you dont put the effort into the other things that make a school great.

This school has gone down hill sadly. The administrators do not seem to care about the children. There is always an excuse. We will be looking into different schools next year.

Dr. Roseboom, the principal, is completely unaware of how her actions, or lack thereof, negatively affect the students of this school. Please do your children a favor and choice into another school. No student should ever be subjected her vast misunderstanding of district policy and how it relates to the consequences she inflicts on her students with zero regard to long term effects. There is policy and there is extremism and she leads by the latter.

Teachers are pretty good. Daughter was in the school for two years in the gifted program. Second teacher was really good but did not knowhow to handle the classroom effectively. Racial threat took place and was handled poorly by the teacher, principal, and S.O.S. If your child is not a minority you will love this school. If they are, good luck.

My daughter went to school there in the late 80's - My son is currently a 5th grade student and has been there since grade 1. I have nothing but compliment about this school. Every teachers I have dealt with was caring and competent.

I rate Tomoka Elementary as a five star school. It is the best.Wish I could have had my child start in an earlier grade.

Our experience at Tomoka has been nothing short of amazing. The faculty all greet my child by name every morning and seem genuinely interested in each child. My daughter's kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Bernacchi and she really made the year extraordinary. She goes above and beyond her job to make sure her students are taken care of. We can not wait for another amazing year at Tomoka!
