Last year, 2023-2024 year, I didn't have many issues with this school as a parent of a freshman student. This year, 2024-2025 year, I have had nothing but problems. The staff is rude, they do not respond to concerns when receiving messages that my child is not at school when in fact he is. They can't verify his presence, even though he is in testing they require. I get these new 'safety' messages all day and when I call concerned, they do nothing but say I have to wait for someone to figure it out and update their system. I don't think that was the purpose of these new messages. Escalating to the principal has done nothing. I would not recommend this school.

If your student is special needs with adhd or any other special needs beware they don't care . My child has adhd and has impulse issues and is not able to take meds due to seizures. This did not stop them for disciplining my child for every little thing. Grant it my child is no angel by any means, but is not a problem child as well. The school does not see it this way though for a child with adhd they see them as a problem . The discipline lady and vice principal are a nightmare they will discipline them for every little thing they can find. The discipline lady acts like a child tattling on a class mate basically. The vice principal has no sense of humor what so ever and will judge your student even before they walk in the front door with out getting to know them first even If they have never been in the school there. They are very judgmental, pushy and act like stuck up rich snobs. There was only one teacher there that i liked and needs a shout out for being awesome and that was Ms. Viola in special ed. The sheriff on campus there was awesome as well he really does care about the kids and all of the kids safety there so shout out to him as well for being awesome, Other then that i am not impressed with this school at all. We felt they really just want to push kids thru and collect the money on these special needs kids.

10/ 10 STARS. Little to no fights. Alot of really good teachers ( such as Blasko, Pio, Dalia, Cochran, Romeo, Holloway, Wallace,Howard, Haughwout, Burton, and Stewart.) . Students here are really close to teachers, and students are close to each other. The school gives everyone opportunites fofr free tutoring. Alot of the teachers will stay after school for students to get tutoring. This school also has "power hour" where all the students have a hour to eat and study. Some use it to chill with their friends , and others use it for studying. Our school is very diverse , and we get several foreign students at our school coming from Germany, London, Asia , Jamacia, Hati, and Cuba.

A certain group of students have no respect for our school wellbeing whatsoever. They leave tons of trash in the courtyard, but we have our JROTC ,and Student Leadership Coaltion that have a huge group of students that clean up theses messes. We also have our AEMS acadmey make garden around our school to make our cleaner.

Our school has issue with parnets coming up and to them ; clearly telling them that some big fight is going to happen, or something bad is going to happen. No, instead of our school taken action they let it happen, and I personally think its an area that we need to improve upon.

I love this school and I'm grateful to be a shark. The best thing is how many opportunities it has, like talking to the FBI or all the types of sports they have here. And if you want to be an attorney, join ALAG. You won't find a better high school law program in Florida.

Most of the teachers here give little to no homework, which I agree with. Of course, if you are stuggling, you can see them during lunch for extra help or review the classwork. But I really appreciate that they understand we have lives outside of school.

Atlantic students are mostly pretty disciplined and respectful. Some say "Yes Ma'am" or "Yes Sir", and unlike my other school, during the pledge EVERYONE stands up (and they are not forced to). That says a lot. They have excellent clubs here and almost everyone is involved in some type of activity.

During the break, the special needs students sell cookies, tea and other food to the students passing by. It is good because the money supports the school, the special needs students are learning bussiness skills, and who doesn't enjoy a nice cookie? They sell A LOT everyday.

I haven't seen much bullying going on here, but we do have a campus cop and I feel pretty safe having him there. Nice guy, too.

Last year, I went to a different school, and switching to Atlantic was probably the best decision I've made academically. The campus is clean and looks great. The teachers are really helpful and funny at times. We have a gigantic library with a coffee shop in it, and it's a good place to go and work on homework during lunch, or just to hang out. I like how organized the office is and how they keep the website up to date. The school offers several academies, so there's something for everybody. All of the career academies are good, but if one had to stand out as our most prestigious it would have to be Law and Government. We have FBI agents, marines, and police come talk to us. Everyone is interested in the material and we go on TONS of field trips. We even have mock trials in a courtroom at our school, so it's definitely the right place to be if you aspire to be an attorney, senator, cop, judge, etc. One of the best things about Atlantic is how many extra curricular activities they have, especially JROTC. There are truly some impressive, patriotic people in there. I wear the uniform with so much pride. So in case you haven't guessed, I LOVE this school. Take my advice, and if you really want to study civics, get a variance. It's so worth it.

My peers here feel like some of the best people I've come to know. Almost anywhere you go on campus, you feel like you are surrounded by respectful and ambitious students. People are really here to learn, especially if you are part of a career academy. Sure, like any other school, there are a few bad apples, but for the most part, Atlantic students are incredible.

It all depends on who you talk to at this, but just like any other school theres going to a couple of bad apples, if you change out with them, then you'll lie, and just be that kid that nobody really likes, but if you hang out with the right people, then I would highly agree with this statement

This school as a 15:1 student teacher ratio which as a former FPC high school student that is something that I greatly miss. With only about 1,000 students at Atlantic everybody knows everybody, wether you want to or not. It's really hard to make friends hear, since everybody that i know that goes to atlantic i consider to be like family to me. The teachers care a lot not only about you're grades, but also about you're wellbeing, which if your just now starting high school as freshmen going into this school. Is something that you greatly need and/or will be a huge help. With an hour long lunch, you have plenty of time to talk with friends, and/or catch up on some late homework that you forgot to do. Since almost every classroom as group tables instead of desks, it is much easier, quicker, and more efficient to get classwork done. If you go to Atlantic, or plan on coming to Atlantic, it is almost next to impossible to fail, with all the help that one receives, open arms of former students, extra-help if needed, group tables, and a campus the size of a small college. You are almost guaranteed to have some of the best four years of you're life

I used to go to Spruce Creek, doing the IB program there, and it was horrible! The students were mean, the work load was too much, and I had to take public transport to school every day because, even with all the money being pumped to that school, they don't have enough to send a bus out for the out of zone IB kids. You know, the kids who are the only reason that school is an A school. So, I transferred and came to Atlantic, and I haven't regretted it. The students are much kinder, and welcomed me with open arms. The classes are much easier to understand, and are taught by teachers who actually care and actually like their job. At Atlantic, everyone here has a passion and are proud to be a Shark. It's like a home away from home, and I will definitely be proud to graduate in my teal cap and gown come 2016.

I think that Ms. Marcks is a great administrator, and even though I left the school I could see the changes she was making. She knows how to treat and speak to her employees. I hope the school thrives.
