I got to say this is an excellent school with amazing staff and teachers who push their students to succeed. No problems has really ever happened at my experience with the school except one. Back a year ago my daughter decided to audition for the rubies dance team, she is a pretty good dancer with a strong grip on her feet and amazing flexibility. She got there and all of the choreographies and routines that were taught were apparently too hard for my daughter and they also didnt give enough time to practice before actually having to perform, which made my daughter and many other girls frustrated.I think that they should clearly state that the dance team is for people with state-of-the-art dance skills, (we thought this was going to be a normal audition since they didnt state the levels and skills needed) .My daughter also saw other girls who thought this was a normal dance team and left with a face full of tears on ONLY THE FIRST AUDITION!!! My daughter came back from the first audition with a really bad ankle pain and with a face full of tears, I thought the dance team was to have fun?! Turns out a few days later she couldnt handle the ankle pain anymore. We went to urgent care to notice her ankle was sprained. Apart from my daughter totally hating and not having fun at audition you are also going to send her back with a sprained ankle?! I think it is totally unacceptable. So if your daughter is not skilled enough to all the, turns, twist, jumps, and cartwheels in the air, rethink doing the audition.

This school no longer has the standards of education, responsibility, safety or preparation that it used to have until two years ago. Any parent can notice it, even their teachers themselves. too many students not enough staff to meet the needs of the students. events between student teachers out of place. They only focus on getting students and sports.

The teachers are horrible and instead of educating our children they talk about their personal problems and conspiracy theoriesit is ridiculous
Posted: May 1, 2019
My daughter tells me that her teacher is very tired and doesnt want to teach and gives them the option to talk all period.

My daughter was sexually harassed by another student and with the THREE PRINCIPALS they have they did not do anything about the situation. The student is still in her classroom and still sitting next to her.

I think the school in many ways meets my expectations! The administration does a good job of keeping the school running perfectly. The only issue is the amount of computer assigned homework. Sometimes it is excessive but the school is awesome is many ways!! Lots of sports and clubs. Not so many activities for the kids and the need more field trips! Other than that the teachers and staff are excellent!

One of the things I find I want most is a feeling of safety in my childs school! I feel this school makes me feel secure dropping my child off each morning. The school provides a wonderful learning environment with great academics, and administration!

The schools shows great leadership and the actual building makes kids feel proud of their school. This including the sports and clubs available makes it a well rounded environment.

Like all schools in Miami-Dade, there is plenty of HW, but not more than most.

I hate it! Teachers are super mean to me and ever since i got there my grades have took a plunge. I used to be all A"s and B's now I"m B's, C's, D's, and once an F. I want to be a surgeon when I'm older and I want to go to Stanford. Doral Academy is not the place for me. We have to do 3 educational programs a week! Too much homework, teachers are horrible, pizza has 10,000 tons of grease on it. Should they really be feeding us something like that ?! I know I'm just a kid and i exaggerate things but trust me this time I'm not...

Didn't like it. Horrible discipline. Once, I was followed by another student into my class, my parents reported it as harassment. Yet, they "ruled' in the student's favor, also, many rude and uncivilized children are in class in which they don't know how to behave.

I do like this school.. but I would change some things. The school lunch is HORRIBLE. Some teachers are lazy Uniform is way too strict Extremely Crowded- should kick out some kids I'm in the 8th grade, I've been here since 6th and the school isn't bad, it's just those few things that aren't so great. In general, it isn't bad and I would recommend the school. I hardly see + i've never been a victim of bullying, but if you do come across bullying or teachers being really rude or what not- I highly suggest seeing the counselors.

This school is horrible. They rarely have parent involvement, they have no professionalism anywhere, and the staff is rude and mean. HORRIBLE SCHOOL! The only reason im giving it 2 stars is because its clean.

don't like the fact that middle school is mixed with high school students, they don't have any classes together but they do pass each other in the hallways and high schoolers can be mean to the little ones specially the 6th graders as such was my son's experience.

I hate Ms. Vega, she is super mean i dont even why she hates me

The quality of the academic programs in the honors programs is excellent.. The level of parent involvement, as in most middle schools, is not as prevalent as in the elementary level. Yet, there is a strong pta that assists with the shortfalls. The office's staff are amazing, extremely cooperated. I definitely reccomend this school for all incoming middle students.

This is an amazing institution with a proven success on the development of education and principals. Every single alumni have a very good opportunity of learning the right skills to face the next step on their education.

I looovvveee this school. I have been attending it for my 3 years of middle school and I've got to say, the piano and music programs are the reason I'm staying for high school. Plenty of variety in electives and performing arts choices. I will be sad to graduate from the middle school this year.

I love my school. No drugs, No gangs, and great teachers and programs. LETS GO FIREBIRDS!!!

I put my son and daughter in the 2010-2011 school year and they were failing compared to other middle school they left and the elementary school they went to! I highly don't recommend this school to any parents!!! The middle schoolers are combined with the high schoolers which is even worse! I reported the school for drug use in the school and it hasn't been solved yet but I immedietly withdrawed them from doral academy and put them in a new school and now they r back on track with good grades!!!

My daughter attended this school on 2009-2010. Based on my personal experience I do not recommend it to anybody. I put an straight A, President's Award student in their hands and nothing else happened. I had to withdraw her for lack of challenge. All comments apply to 2009-2010, I do not have references for current year.
