They do not respond in a timely manner, and when they address the students, it's a "don't do it again" EVERY TIME, long after the incident. Fortunately at this age, students regard going to the Principal as a severe consequence, but the reality is the consequence here is really nothing and the incidents continue.

They don't believe in homework. Apparently based on some study homework is ineffective prior to forth grade. Their performace shows - they may be above state average but it's not far above state average and the state average is extremely low so being "above state average" doesn't say much.

My daughter's teacher not once communicated with me. Never responded to emails, phone calls, etc. I was never invited for a parent teacher conference.

The behavior of the staff and Leadership in this school will inhibit students strong character.

The staff in the Main Office are sloppy, very negative attitudes towards parents and students. They always have takeout spread across their desks, they dress unprofessional, and their behavior is unprofessional. Not very responsive at all. They achieve as high as the District Superintendent does, he has shown a genuine dis-concern for the students well being and their academics. Performing above state average, not much over a very low state average. Non-performing school with a sour, unprofessional and negative leadership.

HORRIBLE. If you are stuck within their boundaries, seek alternatives for your children. The leadership is unprofessional, sloppy and caddy. The Superintendent is pleased with their low performing scores because they are above state average, state average here in Florida is LOW. Your children are going to learn very little at W.E. Cherry. The leadership and staff has been there long enough that refinement and further education will be futile, they need to be replaced and the students of this school could get a solid education. Until that happens, I promise your student may perform above state average BUT well below national average.

I love this school. We just moved to Florida from Louisiana a few months ago. My daughter attends first grade at W.E. Cherry. I love the staff and the students. We had so much good experience at the school so far..no issues at all. I am glad my daughter attends this school.

This school has issues with bullying. It came as a surprise to our family. We thought the school had a better reputation than that. Beware!!

And....as a W.E. Cherry alumna, I can correct my typos as well...."I am well aware there are many variables that play when it comes to a child's success."* I would never want to shame those excellent teachers I had.

All three of my grandchildren have attended W.E. Cherry. Each one has received a superior education, had wonderful and caring teachers and made life long friends. The youngest grandchild is in third grade at present and loves to go to school! The personal commitment to each and every student sets W.E. Cherry apart from other schools and adds to the students joy of education.

This is a quick reply to the lady who said "I have never seen a school whose principal and teachers assure kids are given exposure to the extra and remain safe". The reason they do that is because of Somer Thompson's kidnapping.

I have never seen a school whose principal and teachers assure that kids are given exposure to the extras and remain safe. They often provide programs on their own time and dollar to assure that music and arts are not lost in these times of economic cut backs. They even assure our childrens safety by organizing block watches with teachers standing on corners to watch our kids walk home safely. When I first moved to Florida, I was a bit disturbed at the look of the school and was not sure the children would receive a quaility education. Well six years later, my twins last year in elementary, I can attest to the quality education my children received. They have both scored 4 and 5 on all FCATS. Thank you W.E. Cherry teachers you are wonderful Thank you pricipal you have assured an A+ team for our kids.
