Coral Park Elementary is a very special and incredible school! The school has had its ups and downs over the years due to previous administration, but overall, I am very proud to send my children to this school. The teachers are amazing, always communicating through Class Dojo to keep us updated. The school has a very active social media, always sending and posting reminders for us working parents. We wanted more activities and the administration listened to us and started Be Our Guest Days to allow us to come in to volunteer to support the school. Also, there have been wonderful additions to the school including cheerleading, soccer, better dismissal and safety procedures which I appreciate. Recently, they unveiled a game room to incentivize students for their hard work and behavior. My children now want to ensure they go to school every day. The teachers have been there forever and really care about the children. It is like one big family. Thank you CPE for being an amazing school for my children.

Coral Park Elementary is a wonderful school truly 100 out of 10! My daughter is so happy, learning, and thriving here. The teachers and staff are amazing, caring, and dedicated to helping every student succeed. We couldnt be happier!

The quality of education at this school depends on the teacher, which creates an inconsistent experience for students. Many are advanced to the next grade without receiving the support or academic foundation they truly need. Unfortunately, bringing up concerns to school leadership has not been effective. The principal tends to pass off issues to the assistant principal, who often appears uninterested in listening or taking meaningful steps to address them. When problems are raised, the response tends to be dismissive, with references to MDCPS school choice as if the expectation is for families to simply leave if theyre not satisfied, rather than work together to improve things.

Comparing the current administration to the previous one, it feels like weve just swung to the opposite extreme. The prior leadership may have struggled with organization and often did things at the last minute, but at least parent involvement was welcomed and encouraged. Now, while the current administration appears more structured and better organized, there is little to no room for parent voices to be heard or considered. This school year, for example, there have been very few field trips or parent-inclusive activities, and opportunities to volunteer or support teachers have been significantly reduced. It feels like families are being pushed out of the picture instead of being treated as partners in helping students succeed. in the Nunez era, this school would exceed any parent's expectations all around. Now you are met with Administrators who just don't care about your kids, your concerns, solutions, and requests are always ignored.

La estrella que le puedo poner a esta escuela es solamente por sus maestros, el personal de la Principal y la Subdirectora son un horror, excluyendo a las muchachas de la oficina. Esta nueva directora ha venido a acabar con el entorno tan agradable y parental que tenia esta escuela, donde la opinion de los padres contaba y les importaba. A la directora no le interesa el progreso de los estudiantes con necesidades especiales bloqueando asi cualquier tipo de ayuda externa con la que puedan contar estos estudiantes, lo que conyevo a tener que cambiar a mi hijo de escuela a otra que si reconoce, apoya y valora sus necesidades. Es una pena que esta directora haya llegado a acabar con esta buena vibra y conexion que tenia esta escuela con la comunidad

This school used to amazing. Students were provided with plenty of opportunity to excel and reach their full potential. There was a strong Bond between parents, teachers, and the administration, forming a family. The best learning environment for all students. However, The school has declined with the new administration! Many feel it has become a culture of tyranny and dictatorship. Over-controlling, no communication, Things are being hidden, parents are kept out of the school as much as possible. We enter for the bare minimum and beyond that we are questions like if we are criminals, even turned away.

This is so embarrassing and I am not surprised that the leader of this school has not recognized her staff, retirees, or volunteers. I have heard no such thing that the principal for the past 2 years has not done an end of year luncheon to appreciate her staff. This is why moral is low and people don't care.
Always trying to make changes and let everyone know who is the boss. Staff and amazing teachers continue to leave and it's not for promotions or transfers but it's because the principal and administration show no support or appreciation .

Sadly the School is not what it use to be, due to the new administration. They came in about 3 years ago and its been nothing but complaints. After the the long standing principal retired, Coral park has never been the same. Things are left undone, there is not communication, parents are being kept out of the school. We as parents are uncomfortable. The PTA is complete knocked down by the Admin, they can hardly fund raise and are left with little to no funds. Everything is a fight for us as parents, We are constantly having to push to do normal things that many other schools are doing. This school once felt like home, it no longer does. You walk in and they are all jumpy. I took one step towards the cafeteria and they were already like NO DONT GO IN THERE. (I was not planning to go anywhere, just was getting out of the way). The cafeteria is under supervised even after they told parents no when they wanted to volunteer. That is just the beginning. Its so sad to a once great school turn out so bad.

Unfortunately over the last couple of years the school has lost it's touch not only with the teachers and students, but more so with the parents and the community in general. New principal almost runs the school like a penitentiary which has taken it's toll on the good teachers and employees. You can feel the negativity not only through the staff and teachers which trickles down to the poor innocent children. Admin staff does not allow any parent involvement and parents are kept in the dark about serious safety situations. There is barely any supervision in the cafeteria during breakfast or lunch causing complete chaos amongst the students which also leads to children bullying and bothering others. Administration takes to accountability to their decisions, passing on the blame to others. This school is a nightmare.

Kindergarten classes are about 20 kids, but the school average is 17. It isn't this a grade level that demands a lot of attention from the teacher to the student! In my grandson first day of class the attention and instruction to him was so poor that the kid didn't know how to ask permission to go the bathroom the teacher was in school but not in the class and my grandson peed in the pants after no holding it anymore when he made to his mother car at the end of the school day! Incredible ah? Teacher always complaints that she is just one for 20 kids! School is showing up more than what really happens inside the classrooms! Projects are extremely demanding for students that are just five years old! At the end the projects are done by parents and adults! It's this the purpose? This is just lying to ourselves! School teachers don't know that?

All I can say is that my two children have benefitted from such a wonderful school. As a Hispanic Latin parent, I feel that my son and daughter were not only treated fairly, but prepared to face such a global world and economy. I had the pleasure of dealing with my oldest in gifted and ever since third grade with a great team of teachers, all I can say is that she is the top of her graduating class this year in high school. My youngest son, struggled with classwork and homework and thanks to his teachers we realized he had a learning disability. Not only was he diagnosed but this enabled him to exceed in his work. The constant dedication of his teachers ensured that he didn't fall behind or get lost in transition. Thank you Ms. Nunez for the love of learning, my students have benefitted from all you have done!

First and foremost it's difficult for anyone who truly is a dedicated parent, mentor and human to not strive for excellent. Next, the partnership that parents, teachers & staff gives play huge part in the daily development of children. It's been identified within my time at Coral Park that certain things are conducted, dished out and preserved with kids of different ethnicity, special needs etc. I'd never attempt to falsely accuse or agree with untruthful reviews for no sane reason. Thirdly, the practices of "only communication through agendas and not direct dialogues, a call or conference is unrealistic for a school. The staff is not friendly yet once identified they are swift to try and hide their facial expressions of rudeness, respect and common manors. Indeed, you live in the community and the neighbors know everyone yet not everyone is treated equally. In addition, there was one parent who left a review about the same scenario I've experienced, that parent was "Right"! Coral Park is not trained nor well rounded to enter act with children of diverse backgrounds, special needs or children with disabilities. Lastly, I'd say it feels like a "colt" and they staff behavior is not normal. Little looks behind the desk, eye lifts, whispers are all seen as hidden practices and discrimination are centered within this school. I would not suggest or recommend anyone of minority placing their daughter or son here. It's more to the inside of Coral Park then seen on the outside.

As a former student now grown old I can say that this is your typical middle class school. The kind you see on tv, teacher gets apples from the kids, everybody listens and kids relax peacefully at recess. If you live in the neighborhood this is definitely the place.

My daughters have been attending Coral Park Elementary since Kindergarten and one has left to the Cambridge program at WR. Thomas and the other one is in 5th grade. Their Elementary experience is beyond spectacular!!! From the administration to the teachers. I have never met a lady like Mrs. Nunez, hands down to her and how she runs that school. A big THANK YOU to Ms. Acosta, Mr. Ramos (coach), Ms. Torres, Ms. Yedo, Ms. Santiago and I could go on and on but the most special and best teacher of all times Thank you Ms. Perez-Villa for your dedication to your students

I Hope Principal Nu ez reads this. This is the worst school ever no Communication what's so ever with the parents. The Teacher's nor the Principal are any good. "Hey lets wait till the year is almost over and its to Late to help him pass, or not help the child at all" "Lets have meetings but attend them late" "lets have a meeting but show no progress or improvement". Better yet "lets have a meeting to pretend we care" What kind of school really never seen.such bad people in a school waiting last minute to pretend or act as if the child matters to them. What ever the child is getting put in a 100% better school that cares about each and every one of their alumni. I talk from experience. I dont recommend this school to anyone. Worst teacher ever lucky i dont say any names or grade. Thats fine. But just REMEMBER Parents make sure your children are in good hands.

Coral Park Elementary is a public school that can rival any private one. The dedication of the teachers, administrators and staff is incredible. Every single person at that school is dedicatate to the kids regardless of whether they are teachers, adminstrators or other staff members, Success starts at the top with Principal Nunez. Her incredible devotion to the children and the school has to rub off on the teachers and staff. Kudos Mrs. Nunez. And a great big THANK YOU! To Mrs. Campbell, 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Rodriguez, 1st grade teacher and Coaches Ramos and Lopez. Thank you all for your dedication!!!!
