I am writing to express concern regarding the classroom environment, communication, and level of support provided to students.

My son, who has maintained honor roll status, been recognized as Student of the Month, and has no behavioral issues, has been directly affected by these concerns. Despite his strong academic record, he has not consistently received appropriate structure, guidance, or encouragement in the classroom.

There have been repeated instances where students are allowed to use personal phones during instructional time without redirection, which disrupts learning. In my son’s case, the teacher has also repeatedly allowed him to use the teacher’s personal phone during class, which raises concerns about appropriateness, boundaries, and proper classroom supervision.

Additionally, my son reported that the teacher made a statement suggesting that students do not have to attend school if they do not want to. This type of messaging is concerning and undermines the importance of attendance and academic responsibility.

There was also an issue involving the school’s only field trip, where my son did not receive a permission slip. When this was addressed, the response given was that he “didn’t have to go if he didn’t want to.” This reflects a lack of communication and follow-through, and it resulted in him potentially missing an important educational opportunity.

Overall, these concerns suggest inconsistent classroom management, communication issues, and a lack of appropriate support for students, including those who are motivated and performing well academically. I believe students deserve a structured, respectful, and accountable learning environment, and I hope these concerns are reviewed and addressed appropriately.

The principal and assistant principal are extremely rude & talk to the students like they’re inmates. You can’t get in contact with teachers & they do not take bullying seriously. I do not recommend this school. The students run this school.

the staff requires parents to either download an app or receive text messages that allows teachers and parents to communicate and shows parents what the homework assignments are, what tests or quizzes to prepare and study for, etc.

I'm beyond happy with the way this school is run and how the staff go above and beyond to, not only provide a safe, disciplined environment for my child, but the way they listen to the students/parents concerns, needs, and problems with an attentiveness that is nearly impossible to find these days. Also the way they protect the kids by not allowing bullying, violence or disrespect to each other without dire consequences. And the way they prohibit PDA as well as refusing to allow the girls revealing clothing, is reassuring for parents with daughters. They may need to work on a few things academically but at least I never have to worry that my child is in danger of getting hurt. Also the way they make sure that all entry points into the school are locked so that kids can't skip class and so nobody can enter the school without showing their ID, including parents. They also call the parents to verify any written excuses and will not allow the child to picked up by anybody without verifying it with the parents.

Great Principal, most teachers are outstanding, always a bad egg in the bunch - girls PE teacher one (Don't trust), band teacher (only knows one instrument, always plays lead, not a good instructor, seems to see only what she wants to see). Students try to be unruly, but are kept in-line by the male teachers which are needed.

im a student there im in the 7th grade i went there for 6th grade too. its an ok school they have lots of smart students and only a few who dont know what there doing. there are some fights but not as much as other school. i've been told that the 8th grade teachers arent nice but i really think they say that because they act bad and the teachers have to be mean to them to get them to do right.
