The Teachers doesn't assign homework. Honestly it's rather difficult to follow along with what your child is doing in school because the structure isn't effective.

In my honest opinion I have experience some great teachers at Appling Middle when my son first enrolled there. My opinion is quite different this year. It's hard to build a relationship with your child teacher when the teachers aren't doing what they're supposed to do as to responding to emails or phone calls. But I found it funny how when they feel as if the child is being talkative then normal that's when you hear from the teachers!!! Or they will call you and let the child tell you what's going on instead of them telling you what the issue is. They can be very petty at times in my opinion.

I have mixed feelings about the character because once again the head is the body and if the head isn't stable then nothing is right. Yes understand something's are never brought to attention to resolved but when things are they should be handled Accordantly.

The staff is only as strong as they're Superior. If the head is allowing certain things to fall threw the cracks then nothing will never get resolved!!

One statement made by another parent was that sometimes the teachers are bullies themselves. I strongly agree. How you talk or approach a child is very important. Sometimes words can cut deeper If not used in the right context. Calling a child anything other than their name is very unprofessional.

Teachers are the main bullies. It seems that their main concern is the building instead of teaching the children.

Great Leadership is definitely what has Appling shining like a star. There were several parents that transferred their children to Miller thinking that Mr. Steve Jones would still be the principal there. We were all surprised when he was sent to Appling. I am so impressed with how easy my daughter transitioned to middle school. Coming from Walter P. Jones Elementary after Vickie Miller left and Ms. Malone doing a not so great job of filling Ms. Miller's shoes, I prayed that middle school would be better for my daughter. God answered my prayers. The difference is so noticeable in the students, teachers and administration. My daughter wants to participate in everything and she can't wait to go to school. Everyday, she tells me what she learned that day. I taught in the Bibb County Public school system and know how challenging it is to be in the classroom these days. Appling Middle School really has come a long way since my 20 year old was there. Keep up the great work!

This school is unprofessional. It does not teach children to be successful adults, but successful thugs, its own principal encourages the students to use slang and came up with a form of dress down day called "swag day" I do not think it is proper to allow the teachers to talk in suck a manner to the children, as my own son says that they do. He thinks it is okay to speak like a degenerate because of the supposed "role models" at this school. I do not want my children talking like thugs!
