Me and my brother go here. I have mixed feelings. He has been bullied, but also has made awesome friends. On the other side, they have stepped him for simply talking, and put his bookbag in ISS for carrying it. They also poorly deal with bullying and have a strict, unrealistic expectation with dress codes.

Sappington suspends students of color disproportionately and with no proof of any wrongdoing. Ive seen her suspend a female student for her outfit that in no way violates school rules. The student was Black and yet several white female students skirts are too short and they get away with it. I dont recommend this school.

Experience with educators was not successful as I often learned nothing. No one wanted to work only to discipline. There were a few teachers that stood out due to their teaching practices. Overall I would highly recommend not attending this school.

This school often disrespects students and how would you expect students to respect admin when they are not being respected in return.

I was being bullied every day. I went to the counselor and she did nothing. My mom went to the assistant principal and she did nothing. My dad went to the principal and he did nothing. They protect the bullies there. do not go to this school it sucks. The teachers don't teach. Only one teacher stood up for me and tried to help me deal with the bullying. The only teach who stood up for me got in trouble. When you go to the front office they give you a bad attitude. I had to leave that school for the bullying to stop. They have constant fights break out. It is a terrible environment.

This is the worst school my child has attended. Teachers are strange, yelling at children and pay no attention to bullying. You can report incidents to the vice principle and she will do nothing. Never had a positive experience and will be moving my child to a different school district.

As for the staff they are ok and I know they are doing their best.
However most of the kids their are out of control. Not to mention race is a big deal there .
This might be my daughters 3rd year but not sure .
Bullying is high and all the staff their just can't deal with it .
My child has been influenced by alot of negativity and has picked up some negative attitudes just to survive along the way.. I hope for those looking for a great school do their research. Talk to other parents ask what their experience was like .

Unfortunately my children attend this school, even though we live near Blackmon. This school is horrible. It's always on the news. Someone is always fighting or threatening someone. The principal also never returns your emails. And the school is very one sided. I'm thinking of changing their school next year.

Not fair in judging what to do with a child who did something that had nothing to do with school, and took place not on school grounds. My kid was bullied and retaliated. But the way older kid never got in trouble.

Hi, I'm an alumni of midland middle school. I'm currently a junior at shaw high school. Class of 2016! My experience at midland was a wonderful experience. I went there all 3 years and enjoyed most of it. It's very clean and very nice. Has great rules and regulations. We all know that at some point someone got bullied or was the bully. It's normal in middle school. But anyways once you grow out of that you will be in high school where there's less of that. Actually none of that. But midland is great! And you should check out shaw.

Academics are OK, but this school has a serious issue with bullying. Students have been confrontational, rude, and bullying since we have had our child in the school. Other parents have confirmed to me that this is a regular occurrence. My child is extremely unhappy and even told me she "lost her carefree attitude and had to harden up" to deal with the behaviors of the other students. That broke my heart.

Midland Middle is one of the best middle schools anyone could ever go to! The entire staff is great! Things have been changing a lot around thee lately though! If you are registrating for this school, I recommend your student have Miss Wilson, Mrs Miller, Coach Register, Mr. Register, Miss Tanner, Mr Letson, or Miss Estes! All of those teachers are amazing and the best teachers you will come close to. They all have a fun learning classroom that engages everyone...
