Greenbrier Middle School is exceptional in every way possible! My child has struggled at other schools and is thriving here! The teachers and staff make it a welcoming environment and the students feel safe and it provides them an experience to thrive in. I was very nervous for my child to start a new school, but my expectations have been surpassed. Also, my child has an IEP and they have been wonderful!

The students treat me like trash, and never trusted to be my friend at all, even my mental health got destroyed from this middle school, The teachers do not give a damn about your education at all, there was teachers that doesn’t teach or teach, just watch videos, and just hand out work without teaching? I’m always left out, I came home anxious, stressed, and angry from this school, There is great teachers and adults there, and teaching issues, the school is still a living hell and I literally seen gossiping, harassments, hostile environment of bullying and threats, and while eating lunch, I’m trying to make friends, kids Ignore me, treat me like trash, and just let me left out…and this school is literally just showing off waterbottles, backpacks, and etc., ? And kids are so mean there, and unfriendly, and literally here nobody wants to be my friend? I’m left out…..I do not recommend going to this school.

Greenbrier Middle fosters a collaborative and respectful environment for both staff and students. I’ve taught here for five years, and I’m proud of how we support diverse learners, including those with special needs. The administration is responsive, and professional development is encouraged. Students are curious and kind, and the parent community is actively involved

I would never recommend this school. Bullying is insane! I know there is no perfect school, but this school beats out all the rest with the racism between students, cliques based on race, exclusion, adult disrespect, zero support for students mental health or academics, segregation, and a blind eye is turned on everything. Students do not feel free to talk with an adult about what's happening because they either do not care or make it worse. Nothing is kept confidential. You know who the favorites are in class and teachers do not hide how they feel about students that are not like them. There is no representation for all. Students treat each other like trash. There are students that create a very hostile environment with threats and fights over anything. My child says, daily everyone is in a fight or flight mentality. Can't trust anyone not even kids they say are their so called friends. Academics is hit or miss, all depends on the teacher and their teaching skills. Some teach and some don't. As a school in Columbia Co. it represents what a school should not be like. I am counting the days for my child to be out of there. She went from being a calm and loving child, eager to go to school to constantly being on edge, angry, anxious, and feeling unwanted by kids at school. Now, there are a handful of teachers that are great but not enough to for me to reccommend. I suggest you do your research before enrolling.

This school is horrible, i literally get bullied walking and my race. i saw this kid get jumped the bathroom and it made me traumatized.. this school is a living HELL. do not go.

My experience with this school was absolutely hell. The amount of bullying and disrespectful is horrible from students and teachers. The teachers do not give one damn about your or your education. Luckily I have left this school, but my mental health was horrible at this school. The only good thing was the sports, but still coaches and teachers would favorite you for your athletic ability.

It’s been wonderful. We moved from California mid-semester and everyone has embraced our son. Multiple teachers have sent us personal messages to say how proud they are. Thank you. The counselors are great!

My kid comes home with around 5 pages of homework every day, he is on the track team and has gotten oss for not having homework turned in.

The teachers here are just strict, they do not teach, and advanced classes are for kids that are always there.

The principle from a pov virtually does nothing, only the assistant, the punishment is very bias at this school.

My other son that has autism was put into a regular class where he was bullied and didn't learn anything.

I am blown away by every aspect of this educational system. Far superior to the 6 other schools I have had my kids in while serving in the Army.

This is my son's 3 year. Teachers and staff are really good but my son had problems with bullies since day 1. They even took his money once when 3 boys follow him to the bathroom. He's been in more fights that I could count and most of them the school have no idea that ever happened. Here on this site says that 6% of students are hispanic which is not true for what my son says and for I can see. As a matter of fact my son is the only hispanic in the school and this is mostly the cause of the bulliying/racism. The shool just started 3 days ago I my son's already upset with the way the others students treat him. I will go to the school tomorrow and try to change my son to another school.

My son just completed his second year. We moved from a school that cared only of behavior and let intelligent kids fall through the cracks. Within the first semester at this school the teachers actually SAW my son. They challenged him, tested him for gifted, and moved him to the appropriate classes. My daughter also attends. Both children like it and look forward to school.

I am a prospective parent and I have been doing some research. Unfortunately, they do not have foreign language,limited electives, and they are not affiliated with the National Junior Honor Society. So far, I am NOT impressed. I hope we did not make a mistake moving to the area, I should have done my research before our home started being built. I relied on public opinion and I think my standards on education are somewhat higher than what the public perceive as a good education at this school. I pray for the best with my children...

These are my thoughts about Greenbrier. Pros: the work was not too hard and very straightforward. Another positive thing was that some of the students and teachers were polite and supportive.Cons: When I arrived at Greenbrier in 2011, there were no foreign language classes, no student council, and very limited electives. Now I realize they are taking away another elective leaving three remaining. Some of the teachers don't watch their students as much as they really should. For example, during an exam several students were disrupting the class,and distracting students while they were taking the exam. The school is way too small for the number of students. Many people are pushed and shoved every day. There is some bullying. One person maliciously tried to hurt me by shoving me or pushing me to the wall. The bottom line is this: I was very unsatisfied with Greenbrier, and many people in my class didn't like it either. I wish I could start my seventh grade year over again. I recommend going to a different school in Columbia County or not even in the county.
