Be very mindful when choosing a school for your children. It’s important to ensure the staff truly supports them and not the opposite. My experience with Jessica Appleyard as a principal has been incredibly disappointing. This experience has been heartbreaking and frustrating. The lack of compassion, transparency, and genuine care for my son’s well-being has been deeply disappointing. Parents, think carefully before sending your child here.

My oldest son went here for 1st through 5th grade and he got a great foundation for success in the future! My youngest son is in special needs pre k and it’s been an amazing experience. He has made significant progress and I feel supported by all the teachers and therapists.

Parents, DO NOT buy the 2022-2023 year book, it's all for show! Very tiny photos of our kids and filled with pictures of every member of staff including support staff and their so called achievements. A year book should be all about students at a school. There are very few 'magic moments' of our kids. They only included a few photos of events throughout the year, of course, with staff kids. Seems this administration is self promoting their shoddy work and with all the events that took place including a Braves win for our city, the year book is clad in a yankee doodle cover. I wish I could get my money back!

I have sent numerous email to the principal and assistant principal and got nothing back. I went to the school only to be told they are unavailable. Very sad for the 2nd group of admin for this school.

Very bad experience. Im very tempted to get a secind job to get my son in a private school or transfer him to baker elementary.

My son is in the 4th grade and he comes home with tons of home work with no instruction.

Posted: May 8, 2018

My Sons 4th grade advised me that she feels my son has a learning disability which I'm ok with. She walked me through the steps to request my son get tested. I followed all of the steps and got no follow up with 11 days left. My other gripe with his teacher is that the school does not try to find the best fit for your child instead the kids are just put in a class based off last name which had my son with a teacher who talked way to fast and way to loud as well as the teacher doesn't know how to teach to all learning types.

School staff have always been very warm and kind to us !

Great school. Both my kids have been to Pitner. I wasn't to sure at first when my daughter first started. The teacher just wasn't right for her, but they also knew nothing about my daughter when she first started in the 3rd grade. Every year after she was always placed with a teacher that suited her best. My son has always had a teacher that was best placed for him. They really do care at this school. I believe without the awesome teachers. This school wouldn't be what it is. I am not sure my son would be doing as good without them. As he struggled and still struggles at times, but has improved so much. They do like work and some teachers like more homework then others. However the homework is usually suited to what your child needs more work in. My only complaint is I wish the new principle had a open door policy like Ms. Hill did. Over all he is even great.

Great teachers! Great staff! Both of my kids are thriving because of the structure and dedication at Pitner.

At my daughter's first preschool, we discovered she has a slight cognitive delay. She enjoys school so it was important to get her into a program where she could develop at a comfortable pace. We transferred to this school in February. Within one week of her being there, she had improved TREMENDOUSLY! The quality of the work she brings home tells me that she is engaged, and happy. Actual pictures, letters and numbers have appeared where random scribbles used to be! I am so thankful to her teachers for finding a way to unlock her learning potential while she's still young. I am excited to see her continued growth at this school. She has a lot of support from her teachers and administrators. Happy baby, happy Mommy! Thank you so much Pitner staff! We're off to a great start!

This school is awesome. Even the few problems we have don't make me feel bad about the school. I have two kids who have gone here. One who has now moved on to middle and one who is still at pitner. One gifted and one who needs extra help. The school handled both great. If they see one way is not working. They change it till they find what is working. The staff is awesome and they have never lost one of my kids. Like another school did twice. Very helpful staff as well. Over all there rating should be hire.

Pitner is an amazing school with teachers that really care the best teacher I had there was Mrs. Curti. She gave homework when she truly felt we needed it, not every night. All the teachers are wonderful though. I would truly recommend anyone to send their child to Pitner.

My daughter has been here since kindergarten. I wouldn't take her anywhere else!! Love it here!!

AWESOME School!!!! The Staff are very polite, nice, understanding and friendly. My daughter has been attending Pitner since Kindergarten and every years it gets better and better. All her teachers has been a pleasure to work with Ms. Dobbs, Mrs. Reynolds, Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Pittner has all been amazing. The ASP program is offers so many activiites so the kids don't be bored. ASP director and staff is great to work with. I was thinking about moving to Lawrenceville and my daughter cried because she didn't want to change school because of her techers.

I love my son's school. They are very attentive, educational, polite, and fun. Whenever my son misses a day of school he is very sad! He has attended favorite time academy and was never excited about his teachers and friends. However this year at PITNER he is excited everyday about school!

My daughter has been a student at Pitner for the past three years. I can tell you straight up that it's far and away one of the best schools anyone can ever wish to send their child to. I should know: I am an educator myself. The teachers are smart, involved, and enjoy teaching. The principal, Ms. Hill is absolutely phenomenal; she is very committed, organized, respectful, humble and on top of her game. I couldn't wish for a better school for my daughter than Pitner. Next year, my other daughter will start Kindergarten there. Excellent school, overall.

We are so glad we took our son out of Kennesaw Charter Science and Math Academy to attend our neighborhood school. He is only in Kindergarten but he has learned so much MORE since we enrolled him here that he did the first 2 months at KCSMA. And the cost - 4.00 for lunch, school books were almost 45.00, school uniforms for the year at least 225.00, field trips, pictures, yearbook, plus they also dollar you to death. Guess all schools do that. We have found that our neighborhood public school is just as good IF NOT BETTER that a Charter or Private school

This school acts like a private school. You must pay for everything. On hat day you must pay $1 to actually wear a hat. It cost $2 to go on a field trip to the schools own cafeteria They do not give an option for free, which is required by Federal law. Other than that and two terrible teacher, this is a pretty good school.

Mrs Hill has created an amazing school, she is wonderful. Pitner makes me feel like my child is the most emportant at Pitner. We have 3 children that have gone through Pitner since they opened the doors. Pitner is a great school, the staff loves on the kids... and works with the parents.

LISTEN PEOPLE, if you are looking for a fantastic elementary school for your children PITNER ELEMENTARY IS IT!!! Mrs. Hill is an absolutely wonderful principal and we love all of the activities and family and community gatherings that they have for the kids and their families. my child was a 2-month early preemie and he qualified for the early intervention special ed class and it was like being in a regular classroom. he is now in kindergarten and is excelling well beyond what i ever thought he would. we are going to be moving, but definitely trying to stay in the Pitner school district if we can. My other son will be starting school next fall and I can't wait to see how he excels. Love that the school is mult-cultural in every way as well. I SEE NOTHING BUT GREAT PROGRESS OUT OF MY CHILD AND I'M LOVING IT! COME TO PITNER ELEMENTARY, IT IS THE PLACE TO BE. YOU WON'T BE SORRY!! GOD AND HIS ANGELS ARE AT PITNER. LOL
