when your struggling mentally all they do is tell your parents never providing comfort or security when someone is being rude or disrespectfull all they do is give them ISS and expect all problems to just vanish and the teachers never motivate students at all they just expect us to do all the work they slap in our faces and listen to all the lectures they have and want us to memorize it its all so physically and mentally draining and im sure all my fellow peers can agree

Administration is all pomp and circumstance. Does not respond to email in a timely fashion (if at all).
High performing students are ignored. Bad behavior is not addressed. Traffic is a nightmare. Car pool is awful- and admin refuses to address it.
Front office is mediocre at best. Campus officer has short-man syndrome and pretends to do his job- which isn't much anyway. Waste of tax payers money.
Teachers are good though- for the most part.
I've had 3 children over the last 8 yrs attend Freedom. Glad to be moving on and out of Freedom. What a joke.

A lot of bullying and drugs happening that teachers didnt notice even if it was right in front of them. Especially in 7th and 8th grade.

Great teachers, caring staff, my daughter has really enjoyed her time here. Lucky to live in Cherokee County where we have high quality education.

The school used to be good when mrs. holly was the principle but now it is the worst school ever! the teachers and principle harass my son for stuff other kids did and not him! He is switching schools. Don't go here. This has made my son come home crying most days!

Freedom has recently changed its reading curriculum for all grades. Whole-class, teacher-led reading of literature has been eliminated. Instead of reading novels and discussing as a class, as is the normal practice in middle schools across the country, they are now only allowed to read "passages" and answer questions about the passages. It is all an effort to raise Ga Milestones test scores. Imagine...3 whole years without reading a single book for school! Reading class has been renamed "Literacy Workshop." Parents were not notified about this change and it appears as though the reading teachers are not supportive of it. Reading literature exposes children to people and experiences unlike their own. It expands vocabulary and literacy. I'm dumbfounded that Cherokee County thought this was the best strategy for raising reading test scores.

It is absolutely deplorable. The special education teachers appeared to have limited strategies in managing my Autism. They appeared to be more of the "he is almost in high school, lets get him out of here" kind of nature. I am in 8th grade, and my parents and I were appalled to find out there was only one special needs Math teacher. The Math teacher was apparently our case-manager, so she was supposed to have an expertise and strategies available to help me. She was uncouth and had no poise, after speaking with some of the faculty, they knew that she had blemishes in her own reputation, but ultimately, did not disclose it to my father during the meeting. Ironically, the meeting was about "trust." I have been removed from the school.

My daughter just started 6 th grade at Freedom and she loves it! We were new to the county and we wanted to tour the school. The principal herself took us on a tour and answered all our questions. She was very kind. The carpool line is well organized and moves pretty quickly, the school is clean and looks new, and the 6th grade teachers have been great so far. My daughter was nervous about getting a locker but the teachers give the kids plenty of time to get used to opening them with their locker combination. The teachers have done a great job easing the 6 th graders into the routine. My daughter comes home from school in a great mood. That alone speaks volumes! Great School.

Some of the teachers "bully" the students, including my daughter. Making her cry on several occasions. I have left numerous voice mails to the principle about this, with no return call. I stop in, she's not there. The principle should be ashamed of herself, for allowing the teachers to treat the students this way. This school doesn't "care" about their students, and are obviously in it for the money. Don't send your kids to this school!!!

Best middle school ever! My 12 year old daugther graduated from Liberty Elementary and while she absolutely love Liberty, she loves Freedom even more. As a parent, I feel content with how the school is run and the principals and teachers are absolutely the best in Cherokee County! They are caring and very supportive of their students. The standards are high and students are high achievers in all areas. Go Patriots!!!
