I would recommend any & all parents trust their kids education & life experience at this school. Honestly, I'm stunned it's only a "4" on Great Schools at the time of this writing.

I spoken at length with different teachers in different grades and there's a consensus that overloading kids w/HW is just not effective. They appear to have struck just the right note in HW where it's not TOO much nor TOO little. My kids were always challenged without being overwhelmed.

I've yet to have any of my children in any teachers class who were not engaged, communicative, interested & dedicated. I've sent several emails through the years to the Principal & VP, that 3 of my kids attended SRE complimented too many teachers personal individual performance for me to list here. Engaged, caring teachers all around!

The schools are values are literally printed all over their walls, LOL! Their morning routine is to have the students recite schools values (which are traditional Judeo Christian, basically) every morning before the day starts. MUCH better than when I was in elementary school.

Obviously, given my two previous statements. If the teachers are all great & leadership starts w/Leaders...The body wouldn't be in good shape if the head was a mess.

My son was bullied by another boy who was so unruly that he was eventually expelled. His bullying was just another unfortunate notch in his belt. They actively discourage bullying and my kids have told me how "counter-culture" it is. They have always been quick to report any bullying they've experienced or seen.

Love SRE! My oldest son just ended 5th grade and my second son 3rd grade. Teachers are amazing always challenging the kids, they give special homework depending on the student, love their clubs science/chess/pe/coding/etc. Work very hard on reading and also using technology(emails, online presentation, typing). Teach them values with IB program. Front office lovely! Always event inform via email or facebook. PLEASE parents VOLUNTEER in your school you will love it!

SRE is a good school. My daughter is now in 1st grade and started there last year in kindergarten. She is doing well under the IB curriculum which is a well rounded and balanced learning tool for educational & social studies. The staff is very involved with their students and we love her teacher Ms. Ward. It has a diverse body of students and staff which we like. I believe this school should be at least an 8 in ratings or getting there. There is always room for improvement and with Mrs. Graves as the principle, this school will hopefully continue to thrive.

The IB program is wonderful and my children have thrived in this school. SRE is currently the only IB PYP in the Marietta School District. They offer so much more than just academics - Art, Music/Drama, Spanish, hands on Science Lab and fun STEM Activities in the classrooms. SRE has been a great fit for my family and a wonderful diverse community. We lucked out that we’re districted for Sawyer!

The Sawyer Road Teachers are amazing. I've been a SRE Parent for 5 years and I've been so happy with my children's teachers. They're fun, caring, attentive and engaging. It's comforting to know that your babies are in good hands.

I currently have a first grader at Sawyer Road. The homework is a good amount. My child receives the homework packet on Monday and everything is due on Friday. His work is challenging and really makes him think. As long as he does a little each night he successfully hands everything in on Friday. If we don't get to do homework one night (because of sports or cub scouts) then he has to make it up the following night which can be overwhelming for him sometimes. He does a lot of independent, creative writing, reading and math.

Yes! Sawyer Road Elementary develops honesty, integrity and fairness in its students. One of the IB Learner Profiles is being Principled. My student is taught to do the right thing even when no one is looking. Some ways of being principled is following the rules of the school, listening, being on time and prepared for class, being responsible, being honest, and acting with kindness. To take responsibility for their own actions and the consequences that accompany them.

Sawyer Road Elementary is a fantastic multi cultural school. The teachers and staff are amazing and they truly care about the wellbeing of my child. I love everything from spanish class, the science lab, the nature trail behind the school, the garden, art class, music and drama, the huge media center, computer labs, ipads, the IB philosophy and curriculum and the IB Learner profiles. My kids are thriving and excelling in school. Sawyer is truly a special place and I'm thankful everyday that my kids get to go to school here.

I absolutely LOVE Sawyer Road. My daughter excelled and learned so much while attending this school (K and 1st). For second grade she will attend a Cobb county school and I am so heart broken about this. Ignore the 6 rating, this school is definitely a 10. This school has exceeded all of my expectations and it will be very difficult for another school to top Sawyer Road Elementary. Do not hesitate to send your child here, it is well worth it.

Sawyer Road is an amazing school. I have a 5th grader that been there since K and she had done exceptional! She has had many opportunities and will be heading to the Magnet program at the Sixth Grade Academy next fall. Also currently have a 3rd, 2nd, and Kindergartener at SRE as well. Each of my kids have different interests and strong points and weaknessesand the curriculum here is flexible and can suit every child. The IB Program is a wonderful style of learning and should be embraced by more schools. I live that my kids are pushed to exceed the bare minimum standards set by the state and i feel confident that they are being helped to reach their full individual potential. I recommend this school to everyone!

We love this school! It really isn't a school as much as a family! My second son just started Kindergarten this year and he is excited to get up and go to school everyday! The teachers and staff are amazing and dedicated to all the children who attend. The International Baccalaureate curriculum is second to none and the Marietta City Schools district offers children the chance for the IB diploma when graduating high school. This is highly sought after by colleges! Wouldn't think of sending my children anywhere else! Go take a tour and you will see what it is all about!

This school is absolutely amazing! My daughter attends and will be starting 2nd grade. She has been excited to go to school since she started attending in Kindergarten. The teachers are dedicated and wonderful. The school is an International Baccalaureate World School (IB World School) and also identifies and serves gifted students through the MILE program by having in classroom gifted certified teachers. I have been very happy and impressed with the curriculum as well as the diversity of the school and the learning experiences offered here!

We are very pleased with our son's first year at Sawyer Road. Our 4th grade daughter attends MCAA (which we love) but didn't attend SRE, so this is our first experience here. The staff is well rounded and caring and the culture is very diverse. The IB program is a huge difference maker at this school and stays with the students through high school. The overall test scores are low, however the high ESL population is the main contributor to that. We look forward to watching our son grow with SRE and will continue to support it!

Sawyer Road is AMAZING. We are districted for Sawyer Road and looked around at various public and private schools. We could not be happier with the choice we made. The International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum integrates all the subjects helping the children make those connections and learn better/quicker. Our kindergarten student has made leaps and bounds in just the first four months of school. The staff is amazing, truly cares for each student and meets each student where they are at and then challenges them to get better. Rather than the one size fits all approach. I was initially concerned about the high diversity (socio-economic and ethnic) but now truly appreciate it. Our child is getting to experience many different cultures and backgrounds. Better preparing them for life and interactions with people of all backgrounds. We would strongly encourage any parent to send their child to Sawyer Road.
