I am sad to say that I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this school for the 2017-2018 school year. I hope the Leadership is willing to change for the sake of their students and open up to more current teaching philosophies.

The teachers at Kincaid are very hit or miss. Philosophies differ and often the school does not feel cohesive in teaching. Some teachers are exceptional and inspirational while some dont even seem like they want to be there.

This school is a hidden gem, not over crowded . The culture her is one of learning and exploring. Rules are enforced which is important, however new ideas and concepts are nurtured .

Everything was fine until the new administration does immature and unprofessional things around the school to only go down hill. Ms. Blake decided to take away Science Olympiad, Math Lab and is on a ride to take away wordly wise which is the only good program remaining. Making absolute decisions does not make her a good leader. I call this dictatorship without thinking of the betterment of the students. Nobody says this directly but these are verified facts. Somebody save this place!

Usually leadership is supportive to add programs like Math Lab, Science Olympiad etc. Here, she made it a point to take away things that were in place. Makes me think..

We moved here mid-way through the school year and my son had a very tough adjustment. Now, just a couple months later I can say he is thriving. He loves going to school every day. The school has exactly the energy, fun and engagement I had always hoped for my kids. He had a lot of catching up to do because of our move and has only done so due to the patience of his teachers. There is always something fun on the calendar and something for him to be excited for. It's amazing to know he is not only getting a top knotch education, but he is making great childhood memories. We love Kincaid and our so grateful for the wonderful leadership, teachers, PTA and students!

We have been at Kincaid since 2009 (3 kids). We will still be there the next three years. This school is wonderful. We have attended plays (the chorus program is fantastic and the envy of many schools around), volunteer events, home room moms, and many other activities. The staff is caring, courteous and truly believe in the children. We could not be happier.

The total involvement of the parent volunteersw & PTA along with the motivating teachers has made this an award winning academic institution. All their science & computer programs have lead the way for a complete & smooth transition to higher learning & self reliant opportunities. This highly regarded East Cobb school's reputation and location has put Kincaid on the map!

My children attended this school and they love the teachers. The school is like a community everyone loves to be involved with the school and the pta. The foundation funds the science lab to support a higher learning enviroment.

Kincaid is the kind of school you would dream of your children going to. It has a family driven appeal with a focus of excellence. Not just academic excellence, but social and emotional as well. My two daughters went to Kincaid, and I attribute a portion of their success to the culture of Kincaid. They have developed into successful and confident young ladies with Kincaid as their academic scholastic start.

Kincaid is a school of character. There is a tremendous sense of community that welcomes and supports everyone. I am not only a teacher at this school, but I live in the Kincaid district. My daughter attended this school and she was pushed to be the best she could be. My daughter is now in middle school and I cannot image her having had a better elementary experience anywhere else.

I am new to Kincaid this year, but I have instantly been welcomed as part of the family from Day 1. The entire staff is extremely close and supportive of each other. I am amazed at the amount of events and activities that go on here, from clubs to picnics to Fun Runs... The community is outstanding!! I am so glad to be part of the Kincaid family!!

Kincaid is a wonderful school. The teachers and administration care deeply about the children and work hard to create a warm and nurturing environment for learning to occur. The parents are very active and work diligently to support both the teachers and the children. How lucky we are to have such a fabulous school in our own backyard!

I am the parent of two at Kincaid and we have nothing but wonderful things to write about the school, staff and administration. My children are getting an excellent education. Kincaid has very low class sizes. The administration is quick to handle problems, or answer a parent's email. Each year, the communication from the teachers and front office gets better and better. I read an earlier review warning parents of ADHD children about Kincaid. That has not been our experience at all. My oldest has ADHD (and allergies). The staff has been very accommodating and wonderful to work with. He has been fortunate to have classroom teachers and support staff who have special training and programs to help him. I can't imagine a better school for my kids!

We've had nothing but wonderful experience in my son's 2 years (last half of kindergarten, all of first grade, start of second grade) at Kincaid. The teachers are great, the school does a good job of communicating and seems clean and safe.

I would HIGHLY recommend that you look for another school until the current principal is no longer there. She will not handle situations for the child's best interest. Complaints regarding her method of operations are stirring from past and current staff as well. All I can say is BEWARE! and keep you child away from here for the time being.

Both my children have had great experiences at Kincaid Elementary. I sincerely believe that this is a great school! My son is ADHD and he is doing quite well at the school. His First Grade teacher, Mrs. Hubbard, is just a fantastic teacher. She is very compassionate toward the children and always has their best interests in mind. Their music program, taught by Mr. Bush, is just outstanding! The parents volunteer for different activities and are very close knit. They care about their children's education. The Kincaid Foundation also provides extra money to provide for a STEM teacher, who is excellent. Mr. Furr is the physical ed and health teacher. He goes beyond my expectations in teaching the kids good eating and exercise habits. My experience has been wonderful and we are looking forward to 4 more years there with our youngest. Thank you Kincaid staff for making this the school of my choice!

Kincaid offers an excellent environment for students to achieve great levels in learning and social interaction. Teachers and staff really care about the students, and the positive parent involvement improves the quality of conditions to that comparable to private schools.

This is our last year at Kincaid, after beginning here with our oldest in 2005. Excellent teachers throughout the school and grade levels, very involved principal, asst. principal, and PTA. Very warm, family-friendly feel. Strong music, arts, PE programs. Kincaid Foundation, funded by parents, supports a half-time Science lab and the kids love it. Kincaid is really committed to developing the whole child and our oldest was well-prepared for middle school. Our youngest is in 5th grade and will "graduate" in May 2014. Leaving will be bittersweet and we'll miss our time at Kincaid.

We will greatly miss Kincaid. Most discuss negative drama when they have anything to say about any schools. The most important in our mind is the experience and education our child receives. Both of these have been incredible for our child. We are so thankful for the commitment of Kincaid and will greatly miss the school and teachers! Keep up the great work!

We have 2 kids attending Kincaid. One in the 3rd and one in the 5th. My 5th grader has had some difficulties in learning due to his ADHD. The school has been somewhat helpful in assisting us with helping him to succeed. I think your child's success depends on the teacher you get for them. For my son, he had some good teachers and some not so good. My daughter has been lucky to only have one bad teacher. A great amount of teachers there act sidity (pardon my slang) and look at the parents like they are beneath them. So if the teachers are like that on their personal time, they will surely act that way at school. SOrry for the rant, but there are a few and I mean a few teachers that really do care and are helpful. If you are a teacher reading this and are offended, then you might be one of the sidity teachers!

We love this school! My son just finished kindergarten and I can't say enough about the teachers, staff, PTA, etc. The Foundation does an excellent job with fundraising and providing the teachers with extra teaching materials. My son loved going to school every morning.

Front office: Check + Staff: Check + Facilities: Check + We have two children @ Kincaid; one in Kindergarten and one in third grade. We have been extremely pleased with our experience @ Kincaid. We have one young-in that has been diagnosed with PPD-NOS thus creating I.E.P on an annual basis. The teachers are some of the finest. The front office is super and the overall attitude of the school's personnel is excellent. Very positive environment for our kids to grow up. The special help that our 3rd grader receives has made a a huge difference and helps him learn, grow and receive the essentials that he needs to stay on track with his fellow classmates. The PTA here, has been modeled for other schools in Georgia. The parents are involved and this is a fine choice for any parent to consider raising their kids!

I have a child who was diagnosed with ADHD 6 years ago. Unfortunately my child had to attend Kincaid. I highly recommend you not moving into this district if you have a child with ADHD. I have had nothing but heartache since day one. They talk to you as though you are incompetent, and push the medication issue. If your child acts like a "child" they blame it on the "ADHD" In their one track mind ADHD is the source of everything your child does. The principal does not care about you nor your child, only that she is not bothered with any issues. The front office staff is extremely unprofessional, gossiping about other staff and parents while parents/guests are sitting in the reception area. I wish we would have never moved to this schools zone!!!!!!!!!

We love Kincaid! Both my children went to Kincaid and both had wonderful experiences. The teachers are so dedicated and loving, the staff know all the students in the school and work with parents to solve any problem that might come up, the PTA is awesome and the new school Foundation is working hard to help fund classroom technology, writing and science labs. Parental involvement is high. It's a great community of teachers, staff and parents working together for our children. Best kept secret in East Cobb!

Both my children attended Kincaid. It is a wonderful, nurturing envrionment. Teachers and staff truly care about the children and preparing them for middle school. Kincaid has a fabulous PTA and foundation which shows how much parents and the community support education and value students. In addition, the teachers are constantly undergoing new training and adding new information to the curriculum to keep the kids competitive and excited about learning. There has been a renewed focus on math, writing, and reading which raised test scores and student learning. The administration is capable and responsive. The school has a "small school" feel with lots of individual attention and great specials (music and PE especially). Great school!

My child has attended Kincaid for the past two years. I think that it is truly one of the best schools in Cobb County. The teachers, support staff and administration have really taken the time to get to know her and her needs. As far as the last comment about the front office staff, they are extremly friendly. They did ask me for identification when picking up my child from school, but that is only for our protection. The lunchroom is very inviting, my child loves the salads. The cafeteria ladies run contests and decorate seasonally for the children. The curriculum is delivered by some amazing and very caring teachers. I love this school and so does my child!

At first I was very hesitant to send my child to a public school...however I feel that Kincaid is an okay school. Pros-Very involved parents and PTA seems very well run. Cons- The front office staff is who you see when you walk in...they should be pleasant and helpful, even friendly. Only one lady in the front will even say hello when you walk in..some others...totally rude! . Just some bad attitudes, not what you'd like to see in an elementary school. The lunches-Well, I guess it's only 1.60 so not a bad deal, but the food is just poor quality. Some of the teachers seem very nice and positive, but many seem stressed, tired and overly critical. And the silent lunches...give me break! They told us its because the kids wont eat their food if they are allowed to talk....please! Look around...we have an obesity problem...kids are not suffering from lack of calories around here! Overall, I am somewhat in the middle. Several of our teachers have been very patient and supportive. This is our first yeat at Kincaid....still on the fence about returning next year.
