Although administration has changed a lot over the last few years, both of my kids have had excellent experiences there. One child is high achieving and has excelled in AC and high school level courses with teachers who love, push, and support him immensely. My younger child struggles more and has not taken the advanced courses but has still had amazing teachers with incredible support so she feels confident and loved in all she does. Administration and counselors have been responsive to any issues that arise and take immediate action. 504 accommodations have been taken seriously and implemented with fidelity. After 4 years with kids at Simpson, I could not be happier about my kids experiences.

Dr. Mitchell is a strong supporter of suspending students with disabilities. This can be seen in the 17% suspension rate for students with disabilities, substantially above the state average. Prior to Dr. Mitchell this was an excellent school for all learners. This is not the school for you under the current administration if your child has a disability or any unique learning needs. We have unfortunately had to move our child to a private school to finish middle school. See teacher turn over rates with current administration, it will speak volumes.

Like another review mentioned, this school was very different with Dr. Daniels as the principal. We loved it here! However, the current administration is not concerned with connecting with students and/ or parents. This school makes it clear that social/ emotional skills are not a priority. It is unfortunate this school has taken such a turn over the last couple of years.

Simpson has been a great school until recently. Dr. Ansley Daniel and Dr. Hannah Polk have been very passionate about doing an outstanding job keeping the school to the highest standards. It all changed in 2021/22 school year with new administration put in charge, whose priorities were distinctly different from keeping students best interests at their hearts and ensuring that kids get the best education possible. True caring for students, their well-being, advancement and growth gave way to technocratic, very formal approach, biased towards the goal of high rankings, personal interests and carrier advancement. Sad, but in my experience true.

Some teachers are disrespectful, and honestly traumatizing. They aren't understanding specifically tending to make assumptions, and in the worst case scenario setting children up for failure.

Many get bullied, the people at the school have bad influence on each other, and the administration is terrible with dealing with situations. It's disappointing on how they handle the students. Problems are rarely solved, often getting worse.

I have a child with limitations in vision and the school teachers have been very supportive and encouraging. The administration is very involved and supportive as well.

Rough experience. Moved from another Cobb school which we loved (Dodgen). The principal here is not equipped to be a Cobb leader. I hate to say that. But too many parents have complained about her unfair treatment of kids.

My experience at this school was not amazing. The administration was not good, they were rude and very unfair. In class one of the students had her phone on her deck but she was not using it. The teacher decided to snatch her phone and give it to administration. The staff have no respect for the students and will take their things and will but their hands on you if you have misbehaved. The school also doesn't follow the Cobb County code of conduct. They always say that they follow it but they don't. Students will get suspended for way longer than nessary and longer then the code of conduct says, therefore compermising the students education. However, most of the acafemics at this school were good. They offered a lot of classes and prepared me for high school pretty well.

A lot of the teachers assigned to much or unassary homework. Also for a lot of topics and units you don't get enough homework or practice to really understand the lesson.

A lot of my teachers would come in early or stay after to help students with their work. My teachers were also did lots of activities and other ways to help us learn. However, not all teachers do this or as much.

A lot of the staff (especially the administration) were very unfair to specific students for dumb reasons. It would of been grades, race, religion, etc.

Most of the bad reviews you see on this site were written by students that are angry because they can't wear clothes that are too revealing to be worn anywhere. The rest I these one star ratings are by parents that don't understand that a B from an all-A's student means that they are being challenged and is a good thing. Most of the students who went to Simpson got into a magnet school, or the Lassiter and Sprayberry STEM academies. I went to Simpson myself and graduated eigth as a President's honor students (alongside at least 75 other President's honor roll students) to go to the Wheeler Magnet Program with 4 high school credits already under my belt. I can say from personal experience that Simpson is a great school and prepares students well for high school and beyond. All of my teachers in the two years I went to Simpson were exceptional and most even made learning incredibly interesting and fun. My experiences with Simpson were better than I could have hoped for, and I will always be proud to say I was, and still am, a Simpson Eagle.

This upcoming year will be my 5th year as a Simpson parent. Over the years, I have seen the school go through some enhancing physical changes: the addition of science labs, the addition of a music wing, and the transformation of the old music space into a beautiful cafeteria. The teachers appreciate these changes and make sure that they are utilized to the max. Simpson welcomes 6th graders and supports their academic and personal growth until they leave 8th grade (more than well-prepared) for high school. Classwork is challenging, and the teachers are more than willing to help students before and after school. Between music, PE, the arts, and technology, there is something for everyone at Simpson. The environment is warm and friendly, and the administration welcomes parent input. The big plus for me, as a parent, is that I feel my kids are in a "professional learning environment". Academics are the priority, with extras built into the program to make school appealing and enjoyable. There is an active PTSA and Foundation, which welcome parent volunteers. Whether you have two hours to give per week, or just once a year, your involvement is always welcome.

My son is a sixth grader in Simpson Middle School. He really enjoys his classes and your teachers. They have a great anti-bullying program and the staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Simpson is a great school!

Great school teachers go above and beyond to make sure there is no room for failure in learning. They have a open door to kid coming early, and staying after school to help them.

My child has been at Simpson Middle School for the past 3 years. During that time he has made some good friends and received an excellent education where the teachers challenge him daily. As he is in AC classes the teachers expect these students to step up and stretch themselves and while doing so really learn. Teachers are very friendly and always willing to lend extra help by before school sessions where students can ask questions and get any extra help. The school principle is very open for 1:1 discussions with any parents and takes an active interests in fitting the students in with the right teachers and class levels. The school was just ranked top 5 in Cobb County and that goes to show the dedication of the principal and staff have to furthering the students education. Overall, with parent evolvement your student will thrive in this school and we are very happy with this school. The PSTA is also very active and there are many opportunities to get involved and become part of the success of this school.

this schools teachers do not respect the students. the princibles are horrible and the dress cod is outrages. the rule is no bottoms higher than 3 inches above theknee, a student was sent home by the princeible himself even though her shorts were only 1 INCH ABOVE THE KNEE!! my youngest child will not be attending simpson. "gag"
