They really need to get rid of the whole office staff they are no help and have attitudes everytime there is a problem. None of them have customer service skills! From Parrish to Valencia! They will say what they want and walk away from you as if youre not standing there! Im so glad this is my daughters last year here!

Hello! You may think that me, as a student come on here just to talk bad about the bad things about this school. Im not just any student but a kid from imgrant parents. I get awfully mistreated and unfairly treated. If you want to send your child to this school knowing you have other options, DON'T. My experince from this school was worse than any other school I have gone to. First things first, Instagram. Unmature students start making instagram accounts and taking pictures of random innocent people an dposting them and making fun of their looks. I would mention their accounts here but I think IM not sure if I can do that. So far surprisingly, I haven't been on their but they will get picures one way or another and the accounts will also be accepting pictures from other people so that some students sends photos to the instagram account owner an dposting it for the world to see. Second, safety. I do not feel safe in this school for lots of differnet reasons. Children are always running around uncontrolled by the teachers. The teachers just talk and won't take any action. For example today, I was walking to my 4th period and I cam across a bunch of bad kids running through the always while the hallway was very very crowded and I had almost slipped and feel into a crowd. Its wasn't only today but almost everyday. Teachers are constantly looking at them and say things like, "your going to hurt eachother" but won't get refferals or infractions. Another reason why I think you shouldn't make your child go to this school is because, they are good at teaching but, in the morning everyone in the school has a homeroom class on the schools website and we are supposed to play minecrafts, in school and they are taking that for a grade which honestly doesn't make any sense because how is a game going to help us make money and live a good life in the future? I still have some minecraft assignments to do today and its been stressing me out lately since they're always talking about and now I just feel so stressed that I want to do something I'll regret. They are also giving tooo much assignments and I know your gonna be like, "shes in middle school, everyone says that" but no. I have been distant from my familiy since school started with all assignment and Im trying to keep my A honor roll streak but its very difficult. I stay up late working and studying like a college student so I don't fail an exam and im only in the 7th grade. DO NOT SEND YOU CHILDREN AT THIS SCHOOL !!

Hi Im a student here currently and I want to bring attention to this school. For me personally it is absolutely horrible. I barley learn anything and the teachers treat the children as if theyre in a prison. We are very social people especially at this age and that is limited to a great amount. I feel my my opinions in this school are limited to the point I dont even have a choice on a lot of the things. The teachers dont care if they make you cry or anything of that sort Ive seen it on multiple occasions. Very soon here I will be switching to home school because of this. I would not recommend.

Hi, i'm a student at this school and i would rate my experience bad. They've changed my mental health. On CTLS they mark completed homework wrong on purpose and I sent tons of emails on gmail about it. They give out tons of homework. I got bad grades because of it. I even got yelled at by my parents because of my grades. This school made me feel like i don't matter.

My student's test scores (RI and SMI) grew more this year than they did last year at a 'higher performing' West Cobb school. I feel she is learning more at Campbell.

I believe the teachers and staff encourage and expect good character traits from the students. However, good character traits also requires support from parents.

I am glad we took the leap and moved our child from a higher performing West Cobb school to CMS, her districted school. Like others, I had concerned about the size of the school however our child is happier, more involved and her grades are better. I have been very impressed with the teachers and staff at Campbell Middle School and wished we had moved her sooner.

I was apprehensive and worried at best when my daughter started 6th grade two years ago and now I can honestly say I am happy we decided to keep her at her home school. She is and has been in all AC classes and definitely has stayed challenged while being rewarded when doing well and disciplined when she isn't "following the rules". I love all of the teachers she has had, especially for their communication and commitment in helping keep my daughter grounded and on track. Hopefully we have another great experience at CHS next year!

I do agree, but the parents as much as the school need to help their children with integrity, respect, compassion and common sense. However, I see as many parents as their children shifting the blame as to why this or why that without taking personal responsibility. Our children learn by example.

I went in positive and leaving hopeless. My son was not challenged academically and never awarded for doing well (all A's) but was ALWAYS reprimanded for doing something wrong. The administration staff wants you to support them, but they don't support the parents who care. Their response to everything is "the rules are the rules!" The school is being ran like a prison, they operate using the 3 strike program! They feel as if giving the children office referrals for everything is going to solve something when it's not. I was told by the principle that's it's a dichotomy to see a child who has all A's and B's with not so good behavior because he doesn't see this often. If you are a school administrator I would assume you would see this all of the time and the first thing to come to mind should be that the child is bored. Since he doesn't see this often, he railroads those children. I will not be sending my other children there, it's not getting better.

Not sure what school the parents giving 4 stars and above are reviewing but it certainly can not be Campbell Middle School. They are very unorganized and they have horrible communication skills. Apparently there was a death threat made on several students and the parents were only notified via email after the school believed that the incident had been handled. Unacceptable. Also my child has had 3 different French teachers this school year alone and they just got a 4th and the school has yet to inform the parents of this incident. My son comes home disgusted by this school everyday and i cannot want to enroll him somewhere else. My son has never been in any trouble..ever and had an altercation with another student because the student spit on him and he asked the student 3 times to please stop. I asked him where were the teachers and he replied he didn't know. Unacceptable. I can't wait for this school year to be over.

I'm the parent of a 7th grader at Campbell Middle, this is our second year. We had a great experience during 6th grade year but this year has been off to a rough start. I learned that cobb county did some re-zoning which left Campbell Middle over crowded and under staffed. My kid has been in three French classes since the beginning of school in August. I was not notified at all until I saw a 50 average on the synergy grading system. He didn't earn that grade he was given that low average because the teachers were not transferring his grades as he went from class to class. At any rate I was able to track down a few teachers and one awesome administrator who helped us correct this issue. Also the front office secretary is not helpful or inviting. However the guidance and attendance office is great! So in conclusion Campbell middle is great if your child doesn't get mixed up in any over crowded classes or you as a parent never have to go in the front office.

I am the parent of an 8th grader who has had a great experience at Campbell Middle School. During our recent Open House, a former student talked about his preparedness for Campbell High School's IB program. The French dept will gain two teachers and has won a $35,000 grant for classroom technology. Physical Science for high school credit is a new 8th grade offering. The teacher advocates for excellence, a practice found in all classes. CMS offers high school credit for Algebra/Geometry A. This teacher uses an interactive approach for in-depth instruction. Instruction is rigorous and involves various work products that are engaging, challenging, & fun for teaching critical skills for success in high school. The IB approach includes writing across all disciplines and collaborative group-work assignments/projects. Teachers understand nurturing the incoming 6th grader to develop a more independent and expressive 8th grader prepared for high school & any CCSD Magnet Program. The PTSA board is trained and advocates for students and parent engagement. In 2014, CMS established a foundation as a parent commitment to continued growth & support for the dedicated staff to educate students.

My daughter is in advanced content courses in 7th grade and loves it. We love the diversity of the student population. The principal and the administrators are great. My daughters science teacher was selected as teacher of the year for the state of Georgia. The 7th grade class had a 3-day science field trip to Jekyll Island. Whenever I've had an issue it was immediately addressed by the principal. Kids who get all A's and B's in a marking period qualify for a special field trip. There are a wide variety of clubs at the school for the students to choose from. They also offer free Saturday tutoring for students who want to improve their performance in any subject area. The facility is spacious and well-maintained. All classrooms have smart boards and the kids are given iPads. A new music wing was built last year. CMS offers free CRCT tutoring for those who need it. Lunch period is pretty short and they don't get PE unless they select it, but they do have a basketball team and a step team. CMS is a GREAT school!

This is my sons first year at cms as a 6th grader and I have to say this is the worst school ever. I will be withdrawing him as soon as the year is over. I have nothing at all good to say about this school from the academics, to the teachers, principal and the students. Its normal for a student to curse at a teacher or a fight to happen amongst other things....Cannot wait to leave this school!!

Well, I am currently a student (7th grade) at Campbell Middle School. I've been in private school all my life so this is a really big change for me. The reason i'm giving this school such a bad review is because the word "Unsatisfactory" is one of the many words to describe this school. In 7th grade we are currently learning adverbs and gerunds. (to be honest i learned this in 2nd grade) This school not only bases everything around the CRCT, but we have no fun at this school. They tell us to sit down, be quiet, and do the packet. In every class. They say that students get to express their personalities, but we don't. We really don't. I DO NOT recommend sending your child to this school. They don't care about the children, they care about the money. But the principal s nice. ( That's like the only person the administrators are brutally mean ) And maybe i'm not used to mean people. After all, private school and public school are not similar at all. But I strongly feel that this school is not how they say they are. We take tests almost every day. The teachers don't care about us. They just give out referrals like candy. I think that is just a disgrace to society.

My son goes to this school for 2 years now (he is currently 7th grade). I am sure the school overall, facilities, some of the teachers and a few of the staff are good. The 2 women in the front office are HORRID. they are rude and very unapproachable. That also goes for the one of the administrative assistants. She walks around the school with her nose up and treats everyone like she is better than everyone else. I have encountered a few good teachers, and some really bad ones. Some of them treat the students that are not perfect like they are wasting their time. I will be withdrawling my son at the end of this year to take to a school not in my district. Campbell MS 2 thumbs down!

I am a parent of an 8th grader at this school. I believe there are a few shining stars in this environment, but as a parent of a high-achieving straight A gifted student, I am treated like I am not welcome every single time I step through the doors. They have their issues with over crowding, and the academics are getting better since the "No Child Left Behind" is no longer in play, but for the most part, I can not wait until my child can get out of this school. Principal is unresponsive, and the contacts I have on the board of education are also unresponsive to the problems that go on there. They are terrible about letting parents know what is happening. The PTA is almost non-existent, and they say they want parents to be involved, but we are not welcome there. It is "against policy" for parents to even get past the front doors.

As a student, I see that parents can be quick to blame the school for their child's failures. The teachers here are so much fun, yet we learn. From the IB curriculem to taking high school math, there is no shortage of challenges at CMS. (whether that's good or bad is up to you :) We just got a whole new building for the music department, and it's amazing. The music concerts (of which the band one I play in) are always worth the time. We have Jazz Band, Fiddle team, and Symphonic band and Orchastra just to name a fraction the clubs here. The only downside would be the "Standerd Dress Attire" or the uniform. While I see the reason for this and we do have limited choice, I still don't see it as a smart move on the part of the principal. Cafeteria food can go from delicious to discusting in a day, so always have a lunchbox handy. My only other critice is that Ms. Johnson (principal) is not very in touch with the students. But hey, the teachers are in touch with the students, and that's all that really matters.:-) Overall, not a bad school. I'm glad to be spending my 8th Grade year there despite the downsides.

I am extremely pleased with this school. They are awesome about keeping parents in the loop and the curriculum is outstanding, in my opinion. The are following the Common Core Standards and have a dress code, both of which contribute to a great learning environment.

My daughter is in her second year at Campbell and loves it! She's has great experiences with both the teachers and the administration. She really enjoys the interactive and hands-on approach to teaching at the school. She enjoys extracurricular activities and clubs as well as the schools focus on academics at the annual pep rally and quarterly honor roll field trip. The new music wing is lovely and equipped with new equipment for the kids to enjoy. We are both very pleased with this school!

This school is pretty great, other than the fact that a lot of the students use profanity and the teachers do not say nothing about it, most of the students get d's and f's, but it's not the teachers fault, it's just bad apples, I am currently finishing my last year at CMS and hopefully CHS is a lot better.

I was highly impressed with CMS for my daughters 6th grade year 2011-2012 BUT this year for 7th grade is AWFUL. My child is an A - B student so when she came home with an F as her final grade I was shocked and disappointed. During the 1st quarter I never received any notification my child was failing, no work went incomplete and homework was submitted daily. What's REALLY going on? These 7th grade teachers need to get it together!

I am retracting my previous review that offered a glowing testimony to this school. Since my son entered 7th grade, it is clear that the level of teaching and professionalism have taken a nose dive. I addressed several issues I have had with a teacher with the principal and she dismissed it. Clearly a school that does not care about its students.

As a parent whose son will be entering his 3rd year at CMS, the administration and school curiculum as improved immensely especially in 2010-2011 with the new principal Ms. Gail Johnson. The staff is professional and seems very committed to the success of the students. The addition of the International Baccalaurete program is also a feather in CMS cap. This school will continue to be a good place for our achieving son.

Contrary to the parent comments & ratings during & prior to July 2011, our son is thriving at CMS and enjoys the learning environment offered through his advanced content/gifted classes. We selected CMS over the nearby public & private schools because of its diversity, advanced content/gifted teachers & administration. 2011-2012 was a fantastic year of change at CMS during which a new principal started, the Student Attire was implemented & enforced, and it was Year One of the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Program. We expect to see more changes in 2012-2013 with the addition of more highly rated teachers, involved parents and further immersion in the IB program. We are confident our rising 8th grader will have the ability to earn a spot in one of Cobb County s High School Magnet Programs - highly-competitive, rigorous academic programs. As with any public (or private) school in this Country, parent involvement first with their student and then as a volunteer with the PTSA and administration is critical to a student s and school s success. I challenge other parents, teachers and students to comment, rate this school, get involved and put CMS first!

I was very disappointed by this school for my 6th grader last school year. With this being her first year from out of the whole elementary school world I wanted this to be a good experience for her. I was totally wrong. The staff, administration, teachers, and principal, I felt could care less about the students or the parents. The students felt bullied by the teachers and when we would complain to the principal it was ALWAYS the students fault, no one ever wanted to listen to what we really had to say. I could imagine how things were when we werent there with her. I would not recommend this school to anyone accept maybe the school board to come in there and do some inspecting of their own. With so many complaints after awhile its not the student or the parents with the issue, its the school and its horrible staff.

Campbell Middle School is a disgrace to the school board system and YES I may understand there are WORSE schools but I DONT CARE I dont live in the other schools zone. I pay GOOD money to live in a very nice part of Smyrna but the community and schools are so RATCHED. The principal MS.MGhee is a BASKET CASE and could hardly function, the staff is rude and disrespectful and SPANISH is the first language spoken there, my poor child questions if this is AMERICA or MEXICO!
