Cornerstone has been our familys happy medium between homeschooling and the private school experience. The hybrid model has given our family margin at home together during the school week, while also providing a school community, sports, and extra-curriculars for our students to thrive in.

Cornerstone Preparatory Academy has been a blessing to our family. I have a background in public education and it is so refreshing to be in an environment where the students are treated individually and not just as as number in the system. My student's reading and math are above public school achievement levels. All her teachers have been knowledgeable, patient, and kind. The only category they don't receive a perfect score from me is special education. If your child has an IEP, this may not be the right environment for them. That is the case with most private schools because most do not have staff experienced in differentiation to that level. We love that all courses are taught with a biblical worldview. This allows our parenting guidance to be seamless from home, school, and church. We have attended many of the high school musicals and have been consistently impressed with the skills of the students in acting and music. The secondary students seem to all have wonderful leadership skills and can articulate themselves intelligently and with grace. The university model is just what we were looking for. Academic achievement at a high level with a biblical worldview while focusing on individual student responsibility. We are hoping to send both children to Cornerstone until graduation.

We were not allowed to reenroll our son after I reported bullying.

We love the families and the schedule at this school. I've raised 3 kids who had special needs academically so I've interacted with administrators at many different schools - and never experienced anything remotely like this. I became aware of several different instances of bullying committed by the same child towards other children. I gave a very detailed recounting to school administrators. I did NOT ask them to punish the bully in any way. I DID ask them to address the problem by better educating the boys in that grade about bullying.

The school administration's response was to threaten to not allow my child to enroll for the next year if we did not attend an in-person meeting with administration. (This, despite the fact that we had been extremely sick for a month with RSV and Covid plus experienced a death in the immediate family. I begged them to let us have the meeting online, and they refused.) In the meeting, I was pressured to agree with them that there had been no bullying. They said if I was not in agreement with them, they would not allow my child to attend the following year. I refused to recant, and they refused to allow our child to re-enroll.

One of the tactics this administration uses is to not allow families to talk to each other about problems like this under the guise of not allowing gossip. That allows the administrators to tell parents that ongoing issues are not happening to any other children. And that's because they force parents to agree to "resolutions" so admin can say there is no problem. I won't label their behavior but IFYKYK. Not a safe place spiritually, physically, or emotionally.

Also, the negative reviews I read here absolutely match what we experienced at CPA.

Cornerstone is so much more than just a school to our family. From the first moment we walked through the door, we were drawn to an amazing feeling of belonging and of Gods love. We couldnt have dreamed of a more amazing group of people with whom we are trusting the hearts and minds of our children! Our children are truly valued and loved at Cornerstone in a way for which we will forever be grateful. They, in return, absolutely adore their teachers and look forward to school every day!

That would have been more than enough for us, but it did not stop there! The teachers, staff, and other parents have become some of our dearest friends, which has blessed us with a beautiful community to do life with. In a world where it is so easy to get lost in the white noise, we have found a place where people care, truly and deeply, about each other, bringing us closer together and demonstrating the beauty of the body of Christ! It has been so refreshing to our souls and our family feels incredibly blessed to be a small part of such an amazing community!

Don't put your child with disability..Disagree of what happened for my son with autism. I waisted my time, money . They want me to provide Personal Support Worker with my own expense to guide him all day..from the first place they accept him with his autism ad without telling that we need Psw from
Personal interview with me and my son. After 3 weeks they give us 2 weeks notice to remove my son from the school because they require us Psw.. 2weeks notice in the middle of the summer.

I transferred to CPA in 10th grade, after having been in the public school system my entire education, by my own personal choice (not my parents). I have since concluded that was most definitely not the ideal path. Immediately upon my attendance, I could sense the tension in the building. The first thing I noticed was that as a person-of-color (POC), I had very few peers who were also POC. I, however, knew this information previously to attending the school and did not let that affect my decision to transfer. I would argue now that I should have taken that into consideration. Throughout my time at CPA, I was cited for multiple dress-code violations. This upset me as a plus size woman for multiple reasons. The options we had for uniforms that were permitted were limited in their sizing range, and even then it was rare that the skirts from these companies fit my body the way that they fit other people in our school. The over-scrutinization of my body at this school lead to a plethora of self-esteem and body image issues, some that I am still processing and working through even though I am now removed from the environment. There were a few staff members I remember fondly and still hold close to my heart even after graduation. Unfortunately, multiple of them have left (or are choosing to leave in the future) due to what I can only assume was the administrative side of this school. To speak frankly, I am disappointed in the leaders of this so-called Christian institution. There is very little focus on the true spiritual well-being of the students, but rather on how spiritually well the students appear to be. I found this upsetting as one of the main reasons I chose to transfer to CPA was to be in a healthy, Godly environment. The Bible classes were hardly such, but taught almost exclusively from the assigned textbooks/curriculum. Rarely did we open an actual Bible in class. The way issues pertaining to underage drinking/drugs/etc were dealt with was disheartening. The focus was only on the action rather than student safety or possible outside factors that may be leading to these decisions. I would also like to clarify that while I was enrolled, none of the students that were reprimanded for this behavior were committing said behavior on school grounds, property, or time. All of this to say that if you are considering CPA for your child, mull it over extremely carefully. This is not the school it once was and is certainly headed downhill.

I have two children who have graduated and a third one currently attending the school. I am grateful for the school's dedication to a biblical world education, student safety, and the teachers' dedication to the students. My kids have loved the IMPACT trips. It has been one of the highlights of their high school experience. They built relationships with students from other grades, experienced things they would never have experienced, and had fun. The workload can be challenging but I would expect nothing less from a private education.

I went to school here from 1st grade to 12th grade. They kicked kids out for being gay and in the 12 years of going here they never talked about what we should do if there was a school shooting. Impact trips were mostly self-serving, 1/6 days would be service and the rest would be vacation. They were also very expensive. The only thing I feel like I gained to help prepare me for college was writing skills, which makes me feel like the tuition cost was not worth what I gained from the school. The work load was intense and students who joined later on usually did not do well adjusting. School events also felt very forced and were painful to sit through. Some of the teachers genuinely cared about us. They also are not trained to help kids with learning disabilities.

We are in our 4th year at CPA. This type of school has been an answer to prayer. We love the university school model. It was worked extremely well for our family.

I truly believe every evaluative parent should be able to read an honest review of school positive and negatives. So after much prayer:
POSITIVES:
- The administration, teachers, and attending families truly love the Lord. In searching for a "safe" environment that desires to live a Biblical worldview, CPA really tries to achieve this by living out Christ.
- The administration is very humble and gracious. They want to hear the good and the bad, and they are very open to change and improvement.
- The hybrid model is a true blessing for those seeking this option. The children being at home with mom or dad M/W/F (elementary) offers a unique opportunity to develop character, parental bonding, and relationships that other 5 day school options cannot provide. The Tu/Th at school days offer the balance of learning from other teaching styles, friend time at lunches/electives/afterschool activities, and a single stop shop to round out education via classroom opportunities and extracurricular competitions (art/spelling bee/math/science competitions, sports, etc.)

OVERALL:
CPA offers a unique environment where hearts and character are protected. In the elementary grades, it is somewhat weak in educational rigor. An evaluative parent should go in prepared to increase heart relationships with his own children but must understand that academic achievement is OK/average. Academics can be augmented by at home and/or tutor supplementation. This balance can be an appealing or acceptable trade off, but it must be carefully weighed and evaluated by prospective families. There are MANY wonderful aspects to CPA, but it has some significant growth areas to be on par with high academic achievement expected in Cobb County schools.

(continued) AREAS FOR IMRPOVEMENT: - Although administrations hearts are wonderful, they are somewhat ignorant to the changing academic environment. The classrooms operate in a model about 7-10 years behind in educational approach. There are no beginning and end of year assessments to track academic progress per child. There are limited small reading groups or small math centers to truly evaluate an individual child s performance. Grades seem to be inflated, so ask to see norm-based data (ex: standardized test scores) for your children s specific grade to see an accurate picture. - The administration has masters in education, but they do not understand an elementary balanced education. As an example, you will not find curriculum or developmentally rigorous teacher supplementation to cover all aspects of Language Arts. Any attending family should NOT rely solely on the lesson plans the school provides and should plan to significantly supplement academic areas to achieve a well rounded education. (continued)

There is no other place that can offer your children the academic, spiritual, friendly, and loving environment that is needed for success. Cornerstone has given us the assurance that we need for our children's growth spiritually, and academically. Stay still, and feel the love and growth. If you do not want your children to be academically challenged, think twice. This is our second year, and we find it challenging yet loving and full of wonderful parents that will connect with you. Let's face the fact, you cannot get 100% satisfaction from wherever you choose to be because we are all humans. One thing we know for sure is that " better is one day at Cornerstone than 10,000 elsewhere" :)

Full of irritating teachers. Loads of pointless policies. Will have to pay for IMPACT (extra money depending on which team child is forced into) which is required if taking more than 2 classes. Dual Enrollment plan available via KSU.

My girls have been students at CPA for 3 years and it has truly been an amazing experience! I feel like it combines the best of homeschooling with private school. I am blessed to be involved in their academics daily as well as see them grow spiritually. The staff has been nothing but encouraging and they truly enjoy teaching. It really is one big family!

I have the honor of writing a review on Cornerstone prep Academy. The administration, the teachers and the students have all been a blessing to me and my family. My boys were students at Cornerstone for four years and graduated last year. I began working there as an assistant to help pay for their tuition. I no longer have children who are students there yet I still work there....Now not because I have to pay for tuition but because I WANT to, because I believe in what Cornerstone does for families. I know that my boys received a quality education, made lifelong friends, and are well-equipped for their futures.

Sending my son to Cornerstone was the best decision I've ever made. Not only is he receiving what I consider to be a great education, but the assignments he gets teach him how to study properly, and I believe he will be better prepared to study independently and effectively when he goes to college. I was at first hesitant to take him out of public school because it is all I have ever known. It was a huge decision to enroll him at Cornerstone, but he and I both have never looked back. He adjusted very well to the schedule and working at home on alternate days, and he loves his teachers. He is overall much happier, and the excellent communication from the teachers helps me to support what they are doing. This school has been the biggest blessing.

Our school is an incredibly nurturing environment where children are taught not only an education, but they are taught to serve and love one another. This is our first year at Cornerstone and I cannot say enough about it. Each of us initially came to CPA for different reasons...ours being our daughter is an athlete with a very rigorous training schedule. (16-20) hours a week depending on time of year. She had always excelled academically, but it was becoming increasingly difficult to balance family/gymnastics/school. We knew if she went to public middle school, her quality of life would be miserable. After considerable prayer (particularly as a single parent) we enrolled at CPA. Everyone should be so lucky to have the paradigm shift about education that we have had over the past few months. Guess what? You don't have to sit in an overcrowded classroom for 8 hours every day with another 3-4 hours of homework to learn!! They have streamlined processes and cut out time wasting. The education is efficient, effective, challenging and affordable. The curriculum goes very deep into each topic. Because the kids aren't having to do schoolwork 8-12 hours a day, they are SO much more engaged and interested when they are there. After all, isn't that the point? Teachers and staff are caring, helpful, Godly people. Amazing Place

Cornerstone Prep is a true blessing to our family. Our children are challenged both academically and spiritually. In the four years we have been here there have been numerous opportunities for them to be involved in activities, sports, drama, and leadership opportunities, along with academic competitions. Our daughter, who graduated last year, had numerous scholarship offers and was well-prepared to attend the college of her choice. Her experience with the Kennesaw State Honors Dual Enrollment program was so successful as a senior that her brother is now doing the program as a junior. Being so close to KSU, it works out perfectly with Cornerstone's University-Model schedule. Both have been able to have the full high school experience and attend KSU part time to earn some college credits, thus, experiencing the best of both worlds. Additionally, the family friendly atmosphere at Cornerstone can not be beat. The school believes and practices its mission of partnering with families with their children in laying a firm foundation of Christian discipleship and academic excellence. This is our home away from home.

Cornerstone has been a great fit for our family. After being in private school for many years we couldn't be more pleased with the extra family time at home, less hectic evening schedule, above average academics, like-minded families, school sports programs available even for elementary students, and the responsibility and independence exhibited by my elementary students. The insight into each child's unique motivators is something I never saw in a full time school setting.

This school is hands above any other school where I have taught or my older children have attended. They are academically challenging while still meeting and exceeding the needs of the students and their families!!!! The whole child is developed and prepared for college and life.

My school Cornerstone Preparatory Academy is a great school. I love the fact that I can connect with the teacher and not mind having an intelligent conversation with them. There is always room for improvements but I can say in the past several years I have seen much improvement. Even since my brother was there, 2 years ago, there was improvements from then. Something I really enjoy is having small classes. Even though we are small we are mighty in specific ways; such as sports, electives(drama), etc. The school helps me to manage my time well because we stay at home 2 days. I am super happy with the school, I enjoy it very much. :)

I am so thankful to be a student at Cornerstone. I honestly believe I am receiving the best education I could possibly get in high school. The staff is always encouraging and helps me to do my best. Cornerstone preparatory academy is top notch! Not only do they surround the stutdents in love, they incorporate God into every thing they do. I am also confident with their high expectations and standards that my daughter will be will equipped for college. I do wish to send my other child to cornerstone, I am not sure he can keep up with their standards as he has some learning disabilities. I wish there were some basic learning options for him because I really love this school!

Cornerstone Preparatory Academy has afforded a unique opportunity for us, and represents a model of school I recommend. University-style schooling allows kids to have regular, weekly classroom experience but also lets them do a large portion of the work at home. It makes so much sense to not keep kids in a building all day long when they are capable of doing work at home, in the backyard, at the beach, at Grandma's, wherever. Cornerstone is also a Christian school, and while that is not unique, the love and care the kids receive there IS unique because of the people who pour into the lives of the children. Grace in school interaction is pretty special. :-)

Cornerstone is amazing at preparing students for college. No only do they help get them ready for traditional colleges and universities, but also on-line college programs. My 9th grade daughter is receiving experiences to help her be successful no matter where she chooses to go to college!

We are finishing our first year at this wonderful school. All of the staff and teachers here truly want the best for your child. Our son is thriving and their unique model allows us to spend so much time together. I feel very connected to the school and what is going on there. 2 years in this school and I feel honestly feel my child attends the best school in the state. She cant wait to go to school, she loves her teachers, she is thriving academically, spiritually and we can see her maturing as a young lady. The teachers there are caring and have VERY high expectations, and the children rise up to them. I cant wait for my other children to attend!
