I'm a former student here at BMS, this school ruined my mental health severely. All the students are in a living hell here at BMS for 7 hours straight. Theres no break, just more "learning". Other students here act extremely immature.
When I went on a tour there in 5th grade, I heard inappropriate activity in the bathroom with no action taken, with admin on hall duty. On that exact tour I also witnessed someone lifting up one of my classmates.
However, there some teachers here who are extremely dedicated in their job here at BMS, just for them to quit due to the behavior.
Behavior hasn't changed since 2022. I was personally threatened several times, when I went to tell a counselor: they just told me to go back to class.
I appreciate Ms, Hinds so much for making my day better, and always being there for me, she is very understanding, she even provided a quiet lunch for students who wanted to move away from a loud environment.
Because of this school, i lost my personality, i lost my purpose, none of that will be replaced.

The teachers here arent that good, as someone who needs accommodations, some of the teachers don't really care about that, the PE teachers are absolutely horrible as-well as most of the time, students having 10 minutes to eat??? The counselors here arent that good really supporting but the teachers give me these thoughts. Did i try hard enough? Did i do something wrong? Some of the teachers really do care about my accommodations, and they make my day better. Don't let the outside of the school fool you, the interior in this school is very outdated. (Thank God they are renovating it) Leaks are common, lights broken, small classroom spaces, you know what I mean. As a note to upcoming students, please don't let teachers get ahead of yourself and stay confident, clearly I didnt work that out too well

Most teachers don't reach out until a student is so far behind it's extremely hard for them to catch up; they misplace school work and blame the student so they have to do the same work a couple times. They do care immensely about student safety and mental health which is a huge plus. Miss Holland is definitely the best part about this school, she communicates well and doesn't give up on anyone. The bussing program is an absolute joke; students qualify for free bussing 2 miles or over but ONLY according to the map they use. My daughter is 1 of 4 kids so riding the bus was such a plus to have since we live 2.2 miles aways according to every map I've looked including google maps just not THEIR google maps I guess?? - I work from home but also attend school full time while commuting 3 other children around to different schools. We are required to pay $350/yr ($1,050) for all three years - so being required to pay $1,050 so my daughter can ride the bus or have her walk 50 minutes on a decent traffic day (we tested this theory) to and from school crossing spruce hills Dr, middle road and 18th street- during afterwork traffic and also being dyslexic to boot meaning reading street signs and direction reading can be difficult considering she doesn't have a phone either. On top of such the bus driver doesn't even drop kids off at their drop off location chosen by parents - she got dropped off on Utica Ridge road last year. This is a fight I didnt think I would have to have for the safety of my daughter- 2 hours a day will be spent walking in rain/snow/bad weather and for what? because the transportation program will only use the map they want to and not take anything else into consideration regarding my child such as how far we actually live away from the school and her dyslexia.

I go here, in class of 2028. I am sexually harassed daily, and nobody ever does anything. Its not just me either. Kids are cussed at by admin, locked in rooms by themselves and interviewed illegally. Im scared to go to school in the morning. People get physical with me and the school administration just says, was it a boy? Oh!! He just has a crush on you or We have bigger issues like remodeling the outside of the school every 5 years the inside is crumbling, the toilets squirt water from the handles when you flush, the ceilings are stained with brown marks, there are holes in them too.

This school is truly disgusting. I have noticed that they are trying but the administration keeps everything under wraps. I am currently in seventh grade in the class of 2028 and I can easily say this school would be my last choice if I chose a school for my child to attend. This school does try though, some teachers actually do try to make class fun and help you learn meanwhile others seem like they give you a paper and call it a day. The amount of profanity I hear in the hallways I insane and I witnessed around 13 fights within the first quarter of the year. I have friends that have to put their hoods up and keep their heads down in order to try to stay discreet and avoid their bullies. I have witnessed the worst in this school and it just shakes my core to see how far it has fallen. Teachers being yelled at and cursed at, jumpings, fighting, and so many others make this school environment so horrible. Im just so sad that this school board barely cares.

This school is okay, however it has it's issues, it has a problem with bullying and that. They also sometimes lack how clean the school is, and it's sometimes really dirty.

Dear people who say that everyone judges everyone on appearances here, of course they do this is a middle school. And every single school in America has people who judge other people. This school is absolutely amazing and dear God if you think otherwise, homeschool your children.

I went to BMS for all 3 years and I loved it. Most teachers aren't too strict, and they do a great job preparing you for high school.

While this is a very large school I feel as though the staff and faculty are very attentive, especially if you ask for meetings - no hesitation or trouble coordinating. Middle school is a hard time for all kids and I feel like the way they set up this school for the most part they do a good job.

Absolutely horrible. Everyone judges on appearance, and no one really cares for anyone besides themselves.

This school is amazing. Lots of teachers and staff to support the students and parents. Its very reassuring to know that my child and other children will be in good hands during the school year. Thank you!
