Teachers give students an opportunity to do their homework within a fair time restraint. Students have multiple chances to receive additional help not only due to the consistent efforts of the teachers, but also due to the wider schedules provided for the teachers to provide 1 on 1 help, since the school has a smaller population.

Not only are these teachers friendly, relaxed, interested in both their subject AND their students, but they also provide resources to help students with both school activities, and real world problems that students may be suffering from.

Upon arrival, you're immediately made aware of the school's policies. As mentioned earlier, the teachers are quite relaxed and friendly, providing a comfortable environment to students, to reduce risk of any misbehavior.

Though Mid-City probably isn't the shining star do students suffering from major disabilities affecting their learning capabilities, this school focuses heavily on helping students who suffer from issues that they may have suffered in their past, or even ones the may be suffering from currently at home. This also includes a major focus on assisting students who suffer from disorders such as ADHD, or students who have mental illnesses such as PTSD, depression, anxiety disorder, etc.
Compared to West, Central, and North High School, which also reside in the same district,this school provides one of the bed opportunities for students struggling to get through high school, without making students feel as if they're being looked down upon.

Bullying issues at this school are resolved swiftly, with a zero- tolerance policy for fighting in particular. Student arguments and misbehavior are usually resolved by the Principal or Vice Principal. However, lesser misbehavior is usually handled by one of the school counslers.

I attended this school for about a year, during my senior year of high school, after struggling from anxiety and PTSD due to being abused as a child. Beforehand, I attended West High, where bullying was constant, and never resolved. When I first arrived at Mid-City, I immediately felt welcomed and I fit right in with the other students and teachers. The school gave me plenty of opportunities, and offered me help whenever I needed it. I'd send my children here, if I had any. This was possibly the best school experience I ever had attending any public school, whatsoever.

They do not try to help the kids that are failing classes. All they do is put them on a contract. If they fail one class they are out. How is this helping troubled kids that need the help?

It may seem rough around the edges but KC is a good school, where teachers want to see there students succeed and will go the extra mile to see that it happens.
