One of the worst middle schools in the area. Not very good students most of them smoke and fight especially those Venetian Village/West Miltmore kids.

My two kids have gone through school at Palombi and it has been a great experience for both of them. The teachers and administrators truly care about all the students and make efforts to connect with them, which is why my kids liked going to school. There are opportunities to be placed in advanced classes so my kids were often pushed to do more than they thought they could do. In addition, Palombi offers a wide range of sports teams, clubs, and leadership activities. Parents just need to be aware of all of them (read the monthly newsletters) and push their kids to join them. Oftentimes, teenagers are very reluctant to do these things, but with parent encouragement, they will most likely find something they enjoy. Middle School is a tough age everywhere. However, if parents put in the time to work together with their student and the staff, Palombi will be a great experience for them!

We have had all three of our children go through the D41 school system. We have two special education students who have received wonderful care, skills, and encouragement. We believe our kids were ready for high school and made lifelong friends at Palombi. The staff is very caring. The school has retained its teachers, a testament to the administration's effectiveness. The enrichment courses are abundant!

Weve had such a positive experience with this middle school. The staff are truly caring and dedicated, and the administration goes above and beyond to support students and families. There are so many opportunities for students to get involved, from enrichment clubs to a wide range of sports teamsmy children especially loved playing on the teams. The school is very child-centered, and it shows in the way they encourage growth and learning. I highly recommend this school to any family looking for a supportive and engaging place for their childs middle school years.

Palombi Middle School has been a fantastic experience for our family. The teachers are caring, the communication is great, and my child feels both challenged and supported. We love the wide range of activities and the positive, welcoming environment.

My daughter has been attending Lake Villa School District 41 since kindergarten. She is currently in 7th grade at Palombi Middle School. She has expressed how much she truly likes the staff here at school. She especially liked her 6th grade ELA teacher and her Spanish teacher. She feels safe at school and actively wants to attend school. The staff is very open with communication and they welcome parent questions or concerns. We are truly happy with our experience at Palombi Middle School.

Our son is entering 8th grade and we like the school so far. Teachers are nice and encourage kids to learn. The only problem is some kids are disrespectful and do not want to learn. If your kid is focused on learning and avoids bad kids everything will be fine. We wish there be more after school programs.

My kids went to this district since day one but once they reached middle school, things changed. The bullying and kids doing things they shouldnt be doing was out of control and my daughter told me that one of her friends moved because of that. Hence why we also did the same and my kids now attend Fremont Middle School in Mundelein and they have loved the change. Hope Peter J improves their staff though.

This school sucked. From everyone I knew in the district, everyone called it "the drug school". When I got through my two years, I knew why as well. The bathrooms were in rough shape. There was carved graffiti, broken faucets, and once a shattered mirror. The teaching system also wasn't good. The older teachers were very nice and seemed to like teaching, but the younger teachers were kind of not good at their jobs. My science teacher once remarked that workers were mining in the earth's mantel and that it is very hot. I don't know about you, but the rock in the mantel is so hot, it is like a gel. That's when I wrote her off. The way the school dealt with the coronavirus was atrocious. The teachers rarely spoke and just assigned articles and videos that were made from other people.

I am very satisfied with the special education program in Lake Villa Schools. My daughter attended BJ Hooper for 2 years and then moved to Palombi middle school. Teachers are very supportive and knowledgeable. All teachers exceeded my expectations. My daughter improved not only academically but also her social skills.

I was attending this school as a child with Asperger's (Autism) Syndrome and Bipolar disorder. These diagnoses were found out afterwards because all the school cared about was the fact that my test scores were up. In the end it wasn't enough to support me.

My daughter wrote a thoughtful letter to both the principal and the dean about the extent of bullying that goes on in the school. She received NO RESPONSE.

If you find the right peers with involved parents, your child will do very well. If you are friends with the disrespectful kids, everyone (especially the parents) will be negative about the school when instead they should be reflecting on their own bad habits.

As a new family coming into the school district, I can say that this school is terrible. The teachers arent interested enough in their students and arent motivating in the slightest. The kids are vulgar and have terrible morals. They bully, smoke, and verbally harass some teachers. Im very disappointed in this school, and I would recommend finding somewhere else to enroll your kid.

Bullying is out of control and seems to be a big issue that is overlooked. My child goes to school and comes home with scrapes/cuts from other students causing harm. I understand stuff happens in gym, recess, etc., but to see my child come home from school with a slice on his leg from another student throwing an object across the home room is a bit out of control in my opinion. The dean will ask the students involved but nothing seems to get resolved. The troubled students have parents that told the dean they do not care what their child is doing to others in class so nothing gets resolved and the trouble makers get to go on hurting others that are actually at the school trying to learn.

Not so great. Bullying is out of control and the school seems to not have any control over the situation. The troubled kids that cause fights, vape and smoke, drink and cause bodily harm to other students practically go unpunished. If your looking into moving and have children attending the schools I would recommend looking anywhere outside of this school district.

I am not sure why this school has a rating of 5. My son has been attending this school for a couple of years now and my wife and I could not be more happy. The principal, teachers and the support staff go above and beyond to make sure our son is learning and on track with all his assignments. I love this school and so does my son.

This school has not met my child's IEP. They do not care about the kid's education. They missed placed records. Teachers are bully's to students. They need to fire entire staff and rehire new staff. Or just close this school down.

I WOULD NOT recommend this school to anyone. The students are over tested with ELA, PARCC, etc. The teachers don't care the school is disgusting and bullying happens often. All the school cares about is money not your kids. It's unfair to your children to have them spend two years at that school. They don't focus on education as much as raising money or there after school academics. The school is worn to the bone. You never see the principle because she hides in her office. They over stress their students and most kids at that school are getting U's and D's in their overall grade. Also they DO NOT allow extra credit some if child fails.. oh well! All in all I do not recommend sending your child there .
