As both a current parent and an alum, I have a deep appreciation for Maur HillMount Academy. One of the things I love most is its location in a small Midwestern town, which creates a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for students and families alike. The sense of community here is truly special.
Because it is a smaller school, every student has the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities, whether in athletics, clubs, or leadership roles. This allows students to explore their interests and build confidence in a supportive environment.
Maur HillMount Academy is also an international boarding school, giving students the unique opportunity to learn alongside and form friendships with peers from all over the world. This global perspective is an incredible benefit and helps students grow in understanding and respect for different cultures.
The teachers and administration are incredibly supportive and genuinely dedicated to helping students learn, grow, and succeed. The school maintains a strong commitment to both the Catholic faith and academics, holding each to a high standard and helping students develop into well-rounded individuals with strong values.

MH-MA is a wonderful Catholic college preparatory high school and a hidden gem in a rural Midwest setting. I am an alumni of the school. MH-MA prepared me for college. I took several advanced placement (AP) college preparatory classes at MH-MA (APFrench, APAlgebra, APHistory) and those college credits were then transferred to the university that I attended (KU). I really appreciated the Benedictine Catholic education that I received, especially as Ive gotten older. I believe my Benedictine education instilled a moral compass in me and its students that I believe is missing in todays schools. I truly cherish the forever friends that I made during my high school years. If I get a call, text or email from my classmates, its just like old times together! Having classmate/friends from all over the world was an amazing experience! Growing up on a farm and having classmates/friends from other countries was so cool. The small size of the school was a big advantage in that I was able to participate in sports (basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, track), while in choir and drama club so was able to participate in cool MH-MA performances. MH-MA creates a work ethic that you can excel in academics while participating in after school activities. The facilities were top-notched when I attended and I understand they have recently updated their buildings and facilities. The professional teachers and staff truly cared for us students like family and presented a homey atmosphere while encouraging and inspiring our learning experience. The MH-MA alumni network is a true positive as well in helping to get students into colleges but also helping you make professional connections and networking after college!

Our family is extremely happy with MHMA. It's a small but mighty school, with a tight culture that focuses on Catholic and Benedictine values. The fact that it brings boarders from around the world is invaluable, and students get to experience this rich diversity both inside and outside the classroom. The house system allows students to interact with kids from other class years, adding to the spirit and tight-knit community that MHMA is so known for. The teachers are very personable and extremely available, always eager to help kids who need it. Lastly, with honors and regular classes, students are able to choose the rigor they feel comfortable with, and there is no shaming on kids who choose/are not able to perform at a higher level. Overall, Maur Hill - Mount Academy is a wonderful community and our family could not recommend it enough.

Our children are students at the boarding school and have been there for two years. We want them to graduate from this school because it offers an excellent academic, athletic, and student environment. We are very happy that they have made friends and participate in many weekend activities appropriate for their age. Their academic and athletic performance has improved significantly, and they now speak English fluently. Although they are far from home, the teachers and the community maintain constant communication with us, allowing us to follow all activities in real time. We are now a Raven family

We have been incredibly happy with our decision to send our daughter (and son next year!) to MH-MA. We were looking for a faith-filled and academically strong Catholic high school devoted to molding young men and women into who God wants them to be and MH-MA has fit that bill. Our daughter's faith and confidence in her abilities has exploded and she has been challenged in her academics preparing her well for college. We are a military family and new (and temporary) to the Atchison area which could have been a hard transition but the school and students immediately welcomed her in and she has been incredibly happy there the past two years. One thing I was specifically happy with was the encouragement for students to try new extracurriculars in high school. In most schools you will be unable to play if you hadn't already been training/participating and I love that they are encouraged to try new things and broaden their horizons.

This is not a school it is a company they treat borders very poorly to earn money from the tuition. They dumb down students and do not allow any academic advancements to be made. They offer no A.P classes and only a select collage LEVEL NOT collage credit.

Maur Hill Mount Academy is an excellent school. The teachers and staff are great and are very helpful. It's a very unique experience being a boarding and day school. MHMA is a great place for any high school student.
