My son attended FRMS all three years. FRMS is truly an exceptional place. FRMS has a positive and engaging environment where students are eager to go to school. Teachers are dedicated and truly care about their students success both in academic and personal growth. They are committed to their work every day. Staff members are responsive and supportive, ensuring that student needs are addressed quickly and thoughtfully. I received communication for both positive and corrective both quickly and professionally.

My granddaughter went to this school and she fell in love with school again. She was having a hard time at her other school and came to Fort Riley Middle school, her 8th grade year where she made lots of new friends and her grades improved.

I dont like this school they dont do anything about bullying and dont let u use the restroom but some teachers are ok.

Since switching my daughter from the Manhattan School District to FRMS, her self-confidence, happiness, and overall attitude towards school have completely turned around. Its enlightening to know that teachers with such caring hearts can give their all in such a transient student population. These kids have enough to worry about, being military children, its great that the teachers and staff invest in the students and welcome them with open arms like they do!

So far not so hot. I can tell you we are not having as negative of an experience in the elementary schools in this district as we are with the middle school.

Our child has always struggled with math, but the teachers here have got her back on track and in the regular math classes now.

The school doesn't give unnecessary homework. If they finish in class they dont always get homework.

FRMS has been full of ups and downs. The teachers, at times, seem apathetic to having interactions with parents, however the administration MORE than makes up for it. I truly believe that FRMS has the best admin team I've ever seen! My child has learned, grown, and will walk out of here as a more confident student than he was 2 years ago. The most important thing I can stress is to be proactive with the teachers, email them the first week and introduce yourself. Check Skyward WEEKLY, don't rely on your kids' emails. Engage the teachers when grades are declining, and cc admin if necessary to get a response. This school has grown leaps and bounds since we first moved here and I think they are heading in the right direction!

This school focuses on academics first and foremost. Athletics probably would not even come in second place in importance. Your child will succeed and learn in this school if you are a parent that is involved in your child's learning. The rating scores are low for this school, however the majority of the teachers and staff are pretty good. I do not think the test scores for this school are a complete reflection on the teachers but rather on the capabilities of the students and the help they can get at home for their school work.

Our experience with Fort Riley Middle School was disappointing. There is a distinct lack of academic rigor - with virtually zero homework assigned. Work that is assigned outside of class can generally be completed by students during the school day. My student was simply bored on the vast majority of the days. Moreover, many of the teachers and the current administrators do not partner in a meaningful way with parents to generate a healthy home-school relationship. On one occasion, we were actually forbidden from meeting with a teacher to discuss ways to partner for an issue our student was having. I am taking my issues to the school board. I recommend enrolling your students in adjacent middle schools if you are moving to Fort Riley, Kansas.

My daughter attended FRMS for three years and walked out of the building a well rounded young lady. Her teachers were caring, understanding and had high expectations for her academic performance. Her gifted teacher did an awesome job preparing her for high school advance english. I especially liked the Parent Portal and the instant access to her grades and assignments. KT
