As a former student, I feel that Washington has made attempts to work with families to support their students, but they haven’t achieved this goal. I feel that when I started high school, there was a clear emphasis on funding for sports over quality materials. Books were torn, worn, and old. This, to me, is reasonable with the rise in technology. I feel that access to that technology, however, is held back by lack in funds and student engagement opportunities. It was not unreasonable to hear about fights in the school, in fact, it is a major issue within the school with very little solutions. Students would simply be suspended, come back, and repeat the process. I feel that the best part of the entire school is the teachers, as a good amount of them provide emotional support, college advice, and an all-around good atmosphere for students. There are gems amongst the administration core, but overall, I wish that there would be more done to assist student engagement outside of just sports and clubs. I also feel that the JROTC program at the school has a strong connection with those involved, seeking to offer whatever support they can to students. This may be in military service or college preparation. Overall, I think if you have the option to send your child to Sumner, do so, but Washington is one of the better secondary options.

My personal experience at Washington High School is that kids are too crazy. The only thing that is positive is certain teachers, but the other half are rude. ROTC is the most positive class at this school

It has a field for almost anything but also some opertunities for the future by what classes you just generally take. The cleaning around the school is okay. The type of teachers can vary some can be good and some can be bad. But most of the time its a easy day and you kinda learn everyday.

1. The program JROTC gives us student many activities to do and makes class easy and open doors for many things
2. The program JROTC give cadets many opportunities for students to go out and help the community and teaches students to behave and learn leadership and commitment towards others.

The ROTC program is a great opportunity to get poor behaved students back on track. When I first joined ROTC I wasn't motivated to do my work from the past experience I had with a school in the district. The sergeants care about all the cadets and take time to help students through stressful times. There are some teachers that I connect with, not everyone finds teachers they can reach out to and be comfortable around but if you try the teachers will be able to understand and help you better through your day. One thing I will say is that the standards aren't high and need to be it makes it seem as if administrators are looking down upon the students and do whatever they can to not pay attentions to the concern or problems between students. They dont care about solving issues they just move it aside.

Washington has AFJROTC which has good benefits for future references such as paying half of the scholarship for colleges and helps with community service, helping others in general, showing discipline, courage, determination and hard work within the program, It's a good social working experience that may. Orchestra has a family friendly environment where the students really learn and improve in their skills and the teacher helps a lot by teaching and going over things that are complicated for students, making them learn more and have fun in participating in the class.

This school is absolutely horrible! The teachers do not do anymore work than they have too. They are not held accountable for their actions. The principal does not listen to any concerns. I was referred to the Board of Education, who turns around and gives me back to principal. This school is a joke.

My school is one of the best schools in the district. We work had to make good grades and to graduate. Our teachers make it easy to look forward to go to college and be excited to learn. I believe that our teachers make things better for life

Washington high school is not all that bad. There are actual students who want to learn and try their best. Although a lot of students don't put as much effort into their education as others, there are great possibilities for students to learn. The teachers give effort as well into their students education. A new system called '9th hour' has been established this year. This is meant for students that are failing a core class. That class will send a email via school loop requiring the student to come after school during '9th hour' which is an hour of tutoring or an extra class session to help kids bring up their grades and understand more. Each teacher will have this extra hour at least two times a week. These dedicated teachers also stay after other days to help anyone else who needs help in that class. I think this was a great idea and I've seen improvement throughout the school.
