Our family has had an outstanding experience at St. Edward. My children have consistently metand often exceededtheir educational goals thanks to the dedicated teachers and staff who truly care about their growth. The support they receive academically and personally has made such a positive impact.
What really sets St. Edward apart is the warm, family-like atmosphere. The community and parish are incredibly involved, creating a strong sense of belonging and shared purpose. It feels like everyonestudents, parents, teachers, and parish membersis invested in helping our children succeed.
St. Edward also offers a variety of fun and engaging events that keep students excited about learning. These activities bring joy into education and help nurture both academic curiosity and faith.
We are also very impressed with the new and much-needed improvements happening to the school building this summer. Its clear that St. Edward is committed to providing a modern, safe, and inspiring environment for students now and in the future.
Overall, St. Edward has exceeded our expectations in every way. We feel grateful to be part of such a caring, faith-filled, and academically strong community. Highly recommend!

My family has had a wonderful experience at St Edward. The curriculum is well rounded and engaging, there are many extra-curricular opportunities including sports and clubs and the environment is a safe and loving one. Any concerns we have had over the years have been taken seriously and dealt with promptly. St Edward is truly is our second home and we cannot recommend it enough!

Our boys attended this school for five years and this year was our breaking point. Over the last four years the school has gotten rid of their interventionist and the library, which is disturbing considering the amount of students who struggle. The teachers there do work hard, but they can't meet every student's needs without additional supports. There are struggles with classroom management in several classes. Our oldest at times felt very excluded and some classes are very clicky. Our final straw was a situation with our youngest that was baffling and extremely unhealthy for a 6 year old. When we reached out to the principal for help she essentially didn't follow through on what she said she would do. After this, we decided to shadow several schools and during this process was informed that our oldest was behind in math after taking an assessment at both schools. It was suggested that he would need to get caught up over the summer. At the end of the year his math book was sent home and we realized that his class had only covered 10 of the 21 modules and that the other two schools we shadowed had covered all the math content and modules for his grade. He has had straight A's in math and before this year was in the 90th percentile in math on MAP, so he was capable of doing the work but simply wasn't taught the content needed. It's frustrating to think we paid all this money to only have to hire a tutor to make sure he is taught all his grade level content and doesn't enter a new school behind his classmates. I understand the class was struggling and we strongly believe the teacher did the best she could, but this is where an interventionist or grouping the students differently may have made a difference. With alot of students struggling at this school, the resources simply aren't there, which in turn impacted our son. In the end, we realized its better to pay more money and give our sons what they need at another school.

I wish I could say more positive things about this place. As our daughter got older there has been more bullying. I know several other parents who are upset over behaviors in this school and how its handled or not handled. There should be much more conversation about this but things are swept under the rug and the leadership just plugs what a great family the school is when for a lot of kids it simply isnt.

Our son loved his friends and the athletic clubs. Our issue has been concerns with academics. When our son went to take the Placement test for Trinity and St. X, he was a few points off from AP placement. We had friends at another catholic school in Jtown whose son had a similar score that was allowed to be bumped up into AP classes. When I talked to both high schools they refused to put him in the AP classes. Both schools stated that most St. Edward students struggle at their schools, especially in Math and ELA. We had suspicions all along that the academics weren't up to par with other schools, but this confirmed it. I wish the Archdioscese or all schools would just release MAP scores to the public so that you know what you are paying for.

Our student didnt reach their goal on the math MAP test. Whats the teachers solution? More IXL homework! Only the students who didnt meet their goal have to do the homework. Instead of addressing the issue in the classroom, or finding ways to help the students who might be behind, the teacher just gives more busy work homework. Conferences are always a waste of time; each year the teachers seem to barely know anything about our student or how we can help. We walk away feeling like we didnt get any information. School doesnt properly handle conflicts between students or issues in the classroom. Very disappointed and unimpressed with this school. On the positive side; the school counselor is absolutely amazing. Spend your money on tuition elsewhere.

I am a St. Edward alumni, class of 2004. I feel so blessed to now have my son there, class of 2023. St. Edward is a special place. Everyone is so welcoming and it truly has a home feel. It is very cool to have so many of my previous teachers still there, teaching my son. I love this school, parish & community. There's no where else like it.

My child attends st. Edwards and is happy to be at school. She also misses school during summer break. I am pleased at her response to school, it certainly isn't the one I had. However, I sometimes get the feeling people in administration are more concerned with drawing new families and their money in than the education of its current students and their well being. Catholic education sells itself. It doesnt need slogans and incentives and cheap get-a-buck means of charging parents for 5 minute late pickups from school. Glad my kiddo is happy, but my advice would be to focus on excellence not dollars

St. Edward School is a caring academic community where everyone likes to be. The staff are teaching children to be good learners and good people. Our new administrator sets the bar high with expecting nothing but the best Catholic School Education a kid can get. Through leadership and vision he and the community leadership council have made important decisions and changes. It is more important today than ever that our schools stay current and push to the highest standards. We are so happy with St Edward's School Community and their forward thinking plans. Our children our in a great place!

My family has attended St. Edward for the past 7 years. We currently have 3 children there, 6th, 5th, and 1st grade. Our experience has been nothing but wonderful. We take great pride in our school community and all it has to offer. St. Edward is changing and growing, but only to offer even more to our community. Exciting things are happening at our school, and I hope that even more families will want to be involved. One of the reasons we love St. Edward, is because of the people who also attend the school and church. It is a welcoming environment full of people who care.

My husband is a graduate of St. Edwards and 11 years ago we happily decided to make it home to our 2 children as well. Our oldest graduated last year with great confidence and strong academic success. He has now moved on to high-school where he was well prepared and has flourished. My youngest is ready to start middle-school this year and he is succeeding academically as well as socially. He is making life long relationships and has become a compassionate and caring person largely in part to his school environment. We are in the midst of great change within our church and school, but are surrounded by families that are excited and eager to make St. Edwards all we want it to be! The previous post misquoted the school's mission statement. The post quoted the mission of Partners in Education, a volunteer group that organizes activities and fundraisers. The school's mission is, We inspire, We prepare, We create future leaders. This is expanded upon on the website. Staff either found other employment or retired. Change is difficult especially when some of the teachers we love have decided to leave. St. Edward has been lucky to have most of their teachers stay for a very long time. From what I have observed, the new principal is trying to do things 'by the book' and some do not like that. Everyone was yelling for a change and now we have a change and people are still complaining. I think we need to give the new principal some time to reorganize. I do hope that the improvements to the school building will occur soon. I know the pastor doesn't want parishioners to incur the debt but we do need him to expedite these updates. The last report I saw stated the funds were available for the school to build and update. When will these updates occur? Teacher quality is still very much present. My children love school. That is what is most important!

This school has gone through a lot of changes that will result in a very bad institution. This mission statement : "The mission of St. Edward Parish School is to provide a Catholic education with Christian values rooted in a tradition of academic excellence for the children of the Jeffersontown area from Kindergarten to the Eighth Grade. Partners In Education, a committee of volunteer parents and teacher representative, assists the school in fulfilling its mission" is a very pathetic mission statement for an institution. As for values, the priest, principal, and others in administration are laying off the most important individuals in the community and don't "treat others the way they would like to be treated." This parish/school is not rooted in Christian values because the most important individuals who should be teaching these values are hypocrites and only care about money, not individual and family values. I would definitely not recommend getting into this mess of a parish because most likely it will be closed within the next five years because of the individuals "in charge."
