Undiverse, mostly white people. Limited class choices, and you cant even get half the classes you even choose. And in those classes you learn nothing! Everything is online, so what's the point of being in the classroom? Why spend $5,000 in this school when you'd learn more in online school? Why is this school so great? It definitely does not deserve 5 stars, nor 4. Especially for the amount of money being paid.

This school is a waste of money, it isn't as great as they think they are. The classes are slow and a waste of time.

The school has done an outstanding job of providing excellent educational opportunities. Around 80% of the students in high school are averaging 25 hrs of college credit before they leave school and now the school is offering an associate degree for college while still in high school! Also, the school pays for a CLEP exam for every junior and senior. And, the school just received a blue ribbon for academic excellence.

Although the school is above average in many regards, it falls off tremendously from an academic standpoint once students reach high school. RATHER than focusing on academic prowess, Wade Smith and the administration need to focus on getting the high school into a better position academically. College guidance counseling is virtually nonexistent and the school NEVER has any National Merit representatives, even honorable mentions. It's scary to see all of the Catholic High, Episcopal, and Baton Rouge High honor award winners and not see any from UHigh. It's too good of a school- with too rich of a history to keep languishing academically like it has been.

I am a student at this school. Even though it is a K-12 school, I started in 9th grade. I came from the catholic school system, and it is very different. BUT i love U-High. Even though the grades are small (about 100 per grade), you find your group. All the teachers are nice and great teachers. They will do anything to make sure you strive. The grades are very diverse too, with a mix of ethnicity and family situations. We have people that strive to keep 4.0s or higher, and the people that are barely passing. U-High is a hard and challenging school, but with the help of the teachers and learning how to manage your time, it should be fun as well. I've noticed that the kids that have been at U-High have a easier time writing paragraphs in a shorter amount of time, and I think that is because of the very excellent Elementary and Middle schools. All the staff, coaches, and principals are very nice and caring. If you have the opportunity to come into this community I would accept it in a heartbeat. The only bad thing about the school is that there is very little communication to the parents (ex: newsletters, etc.). Besides that, University Lab School is an amazing choice.

UHIGH (LSU Lab School) is a public school. A public school that still has tuition fees (2013 fees are in the $5,000 range). It''s a tough school to get admitted to, you may have to apply a number of times. They have about 100 students per grade (K-12). It's a quality education, and so far the teachers have shown to be very caring and nurturing. It also appears to have the best mix of ethnic diversity that I have seen in the Baton Rouge area. and kids from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds.

LSU's Lab School has the most excellent administration & faculty partnering with involved parents who together insures high success rates for all students.
