This school failed my child. The entire school system is terrible for children with disabilities. Start your school experience off the right way and find a better placement. Dont lose time with regression and undoing trauma caused by them. There are other options.

This school has failed one of my children already and not protecting them with 504 accommodation's and now you deal with rude(laugh in your face) staff in the front office and the principal spouting off its in the handbook. Instead of having a conversation of why they do something a certain. The handbook does not mean its right or shouldnt be corrected. This school has meaning issues with parents bc its their way or the highway. A parent shouldnt have to wait 20-25 minutes in the lobby with their kids class to walk by for them to join class.

So far so good! Pre-K Mrs. Hale seems top notch. Great with kids and proactive style. Technology is utilized well to inform parents of student activities. Fundraising is a focal point here to provide kids with more activities. Well organized. Bus system seems to work well, with nice drivers who keep to schedule. A+

AVOID!! Move somewhere else if you can. There is a culture of evil at this school. Just take my word on this one.

If your student has a learning disability or is slower than the others, this school will deepen that rift.

Bullying occurred on the bus to school. School leadership as well as the bus driver were informed of what was going on. Neither dealt with the situation. We stopped letting our kids ride the bus. This is just one example.

Avoid if you can. Look at all your options and consider this one only if you have to. You might read this and think I am one of those parents whose kids can do no wrong and yells at the teacher if they get a C. This is not true. I believe in kids respecting their teachers, parents and others around them and have no problem disciplining if I find out otherwise. That said, we moved here from a different school where our student absolutely loved going every morning and always had stories when they came home. At T.L Rhodes, they dreaded school, always had an issue they came home with and felt that no matter what they did, they could not do anything right.

Several times we had to call the school to ask about questions posed in the homework for our 1st grader. We as parents could not even understand what was being asked in the written hand outs. During the COVID at home schooling, homework was handed out in packets but teachers NEVER contacted the student once over ZOOM or any medium to go over anything.

I admit that the teachers have good intentions, but they teach to a test and if youre student falls behind, heaven help you find someone willing to slow down and work with them. During COVID, while one of our kids attending Platt Elementary had weekly ZOOM calls with their teachers, interaction over FaceBook and a whole google classroom where students and teachers wrote messages to each other, T.L Rhodes teachers vanished except to hand out packets on Monday. Even without COVID, our student had many issues with teachers not listening to them or helping them with questions.

TL Rodes is an amazing school that puts students first. I am so blessed to have had my sweet girl there.
