they do NOT care about your mental health.........all they care about it your gpa. if you are struggling mentally do NOT come here. they will not fix anything and they will just send you to a mental hospital. out of school i was sent to a mental hospital for a week and they did not gaf that i was failing math. i hopefully will be returning next year because i want to see my friends. i liked learning here but i wish they care more about the students than their grades to make them look better.

The school has nurtured me into a very good student. The completeness is there but it is healthy. There are many programs that give oppurinites for a good future.

If you want to go to a challenging school then this is your school. Social problems aren't there like other schools, however, we have academic stress. It's nothing like the movies and it's honestly not even worth it.

There is so much homework, way too much to do anything else with your life. Then whenever we are up till 5 am doing homework and go to school exhausted, they dare to ask why we don't get much sleep. Teachers expect you to do so much in freshman year that it is suffocating. There is no time to adjust to anything. Mental break downs? Yea that's normal.

Not all teachers are bad. I've had some amazing teachers. However, most of them do NOT care about you or your grade. Miss one day of school? Nope, you're not allowed to make up the work. Your whole grade can go from an A to an F in an hour.

10/10. Attending BRMHS was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, where I learned the value of hard work, made life-long friends, and discovered and persued my passion. The teachers made a lasting impression on me, and the rigorous workload overly prepared me to make the jump to a collegiate curriculum.

The teachers in 9th grade do not teach! There have after school tutoring and they do not help the kids on what they saying they need help on. They are lazy! The have the kids tutor with other kids instead of the teacher as well! Horrible!

Several teachers have recieved complaints on them for years and the school doesn't do anything to resolved it! There is also racism at the school.as well.

The principal and assistant principal is never around to assist you if you do catch them they will assign a meeting and then ask to reschedule because something came up or never set one up at all! They put you on hold.

This school's primary goal for any incoming freshman is to set you up to fail. My perception is that BRMHS does not nurture the student, but encourages unhealthy competitiveness through test scores and intellectual snobbery.
The ONLY positive I found in this school was the diversity in the student body: race, orientation, nerds, geeks. But bullying was never addressed.

This school has a terrible approach to bullying and the use of illegal drugs. I will not recommend anyone to go to this school.

This school got Blue Ribbon this year. This is well deserved. The students work really hard and are well motivated. The teachers are keeping students engaged. I have one son in this school at the moment and another who finished it 9 years ago.
I highly recommend this school if you live in Baton Rouge area.
(Previous year Louisiana Department of Education did not allow BRMHS to be nominated for Blue Ribbon - they excluded all magnet schools for political reasons),

This is the worst school. They make your children believe that it is such an honor to get accepted there. However, once they are a student there, there is no support. The teachers only desire to prove how smart they are. They grade very unfairly, and students who usually have all As, now have low Bs, Cs, and Ds. Then, they'll justify these unfair grades by simplying saying that their coursework is more rigorous than other schools. However, these same kids score advanced on their standardized tests. They do not help the large majority of students earn scholarships at all. They also do not really put any emphasis on the arts that they have in the school. It is extremely academic oriented with no support at all. They do not really want parental involvement in the child's academic program. They only want parental involvement from parents who are wealthy and have funds to give to the school. If a parent has any issue with one teacher, that teacher will talk to the other teachers in that same department, and your child WILL have problems with all those teachers based upon heresay. This school's scores are good due to top students, NOT due to good teachers.

This school is not up to par with national standards even though everyone in Baton Rouge likes to think so. It was not even ranked nationally this year and was not in the top 3 schools in the state. If you want your child to go to a decent school try moving to another state with better schools instead of staying in a state that is ranked 49th nationally for its public schools!

I am a freshman at Baton Rouge High and I can honestly say it's fantastic. The people are great and open-minded. On the academic side, the teachers are great. All of them are pretty good. I have a mediocre math teacher but she's not bad and I'v e had a few bad ones throughout middle school so I'm grateful. But most of all I love the people. They are very easy to be friends with and don't judge.
