Although Tara High school is nestled in a nice Suburbian neighborhood it is one of the worst schools I could have possibly sent my son to. Staff is either too lazy or overworked but Id say the latter. Seems like staff does not like to do their work and gets annoyed when asked to do so. My son currently attends Tara high and Ive have a few problems with the staff not doing their job. My son has also stated to me plenty of times that he isnt challenged academically not to mention the school is so run down not sure how its still standing. Unfortunately, I was forced to send my child to this school because this is the only high school within the area I live. With that being said this past week a few issues have been brought to light that has ultimately made me make the decision to pull my son out & be homeschooled. This past week was the week of the national student walk out for gun control and out of all the schools across America that participated in the walk out Tara high didnt allow students to exercise the right. The principal decides to pull the fire alarm at the same exact time the walk out was to occur. In her words she didnt want to deal with all the commotion Word of advice if you can avoid it Do Not Send Your Child To This School by all means.

The respect is okay but students here tend to bully students and call each other names.

Sit in the office for 5 or 10 minutes and you will see how unprofessional the assistant and principal are.

And yes, no one cares about anything -- nobody cares about sports or clubs. Many students can't even spell vegetable. 160 of 213 seniors are failing at least one class....Parents love having heart to heart convos with administrators as they're pulling their child out or getting them from suspension but don't do anything. They toss em away. Lunches are unspeakable. So incredibly small and cheap! Pizza is clearly the $1 pizzas from walmart. tiny cups of green fruit, some lettuce and a carrot for salad, the same rolls for burger buns and rolls..it's just despicable how bad this school is. And there's classroom fees? Senior dues are 150$!!

The only good thing about this school is Mr. Griffitt, one of the history teachers at Tara. Mr. Griffitt makes learnng fun and interesting and is very caring towards his students! Mr. Griffitt is the bomb.

I think this school and every school leadership needs the freedom to run it according to the type of students and not be forced to confirm the school board ideas.
