This school was a French, full French immersion school, where English was a class period every day. Students were on track to graduate with their American diploma and their baccalaureate until the curriculum was drastically changed to having French only every other day so it is no longer a Full immersion school where your child is completely immersed in the second language. With dozens of firings and a purge of more than 200 students, they finished it off with a name change and a relocation. Now the school is called LF international de Louisiane.
It is in no way the same school. As far as the new school, hostile, overly strict and threatening to those who do not comply. I had to take my child out after four years and after the start of the fifth year when things got too bad to look the other way. I can tell you that she is an excellent student, but is not on her grade level right now and had to go to an all English school because there was not another French immersion school that she could attend as we are in Jefferson Parish. All articles are still in the schools previous name and I urge you to do your research before choosing this school for your child because more than likely, just like the rest of us, you will find yourself looking desperately for another school once you realize whats really going on over there.

Please do not believe the hype about this school. They represent an environment that does not exist. Google the name of the school and look through the past news articles to see what is really happening there. Lately its the least amount of immersion to qualify as immersion but far from French standards. They were able to be accredited before it was decided to reduce the French and add more English learning. They have to teach to the leap test now and dont have time to follow the French curriculum

The high school doesn't prepare them for college. They only have a few AP courses available and dual enrollment is only for French. There is much prep for ACT either. They fired several beloved teachers and many others left to go to other schools because they were treated unfairly by the administration. We pulled our younger student after 3 years there because the school environment is toxic.

This school is a free charter school that is French accredited. Students (prekindergarten through twelfth) can attend from anywhere within the state of Louisiana. We love the teachers the most! They truly come from around the state and around the world. This just makes the school even more wonderful!

Our daughter has blossomed in her first year at LFNO. The teachers and staff go out of their way to offer support and creative opportunities for learning and growth. We also feel welcomed and appreciated as a family.

We have been at the school since the beginning and love it! The teachers are caring and dedicated to the students. The schools follows the french curriculum as well as the Louisiana curriculum so students learn so much more than expected. To hear the children speak and translate in french is just amazing. The school has a great partnership with the zoo which allows classes to spend time at the zoo which is a great experience for the children. We just love this school!
