It's been a rough road with my son because he is autistic and it was kind of a rocky start with getting him an IEP but I think that mostly had to do with his doctor not documenting his disability properly. My son's special education teacher Kelsey Johnson is amazing and they have done their best to work with us when we had trouble between him transitioning into going to school for his first year and transportation issues. They went above and providing what my son needs to feel comfortable while he is there and now if I go to move plan to stay in this school district because of how well he is doing just from a few hours a week, next year hopefully he'll transition to full time with little to no obstacles.

very racial, son has adhd and they totally failed my son! No plan in place for him at all like they been just setting my son up for failure time after time this year all because they don't know how to properly accomodate elementary students with disabilities. Unprofessional, and if you are black they are very hesitant on greeting you but i have noticed if you are white they automatically speak. Sad case for our black children with disabilities in that school.

It just seems very simple, and with the core curriculum change, it does little to help a parent to help teach their child something that they themselves do not know.

I do not feel like the children are disciplined equally. There are children who are display disciplinary problems, and are improperly or not at all assessed for effective corrective action

The leadership is lacking. The teachers are motivated, and I believe that my children have had great learning experiences there, but how the student body is managed for the demographic involved can use some work.

I believe that the teachers at this school genuinely are interested in the children learning. Unfortunately, there is some lackluster behavior on behalf of the current principal. Does not seem to be aware of policy, and does little to educate herself in a manner that can facilitate growth among the faculty and student body.

My child has attended pinehurst for four years and I have always been impressed with the teachers and staff. My child has developed both academics and social skills beyond her years with the support of truly caring individuals. I have developed a great relationship with the staff over the years and they have truly earned my support and respect !
