We absolutely love Oneness! We have been Oneness parents for 7 years now. Our son attended Oneness from 3rd grade to 8th grade, and our daughter joined since kindergarten (currently at 6th grade). For our kids, it has been a transformational experience. They grew academically as well as socially, developing cognitive and non-cognitive skills simultaneously. They learned math, sciences, foreign languages but also how to organize their days, how to advocate for themselves, how to speak in public and no less importantly, how to be courageous and conscientious citizens of the world. The teachers and whole staff are welcoming, friendly but also knowledgeable. Coming from a different country and culture, Oneness has been more than a good school, it is really a second home.

As a member of the Board for Oneness Family School, I am so impressed and grateful for the experience the administration, the staff, the teachers are providing for the students, and their parents. The parents - such a supportive, friendly, and resourceful group of people! I've been involved in Montessori for over fifty-five years, and I know a truly outstanding school when I see one, and this one is exceptional. Certainly, the educational opportunities are noteworthy, and since the OFS welcomes a wide range of people of varying backgrounds, the entire community learns about and shares in the diversity of the world. To me that makes Oneness Family School an especially ideal place to be.
The classrooms reflect the excitement the students have for learning. They are happy places where children interact with the teachers, the educational materials, and each other. This may be the first places they practice the cooperation, collaboration and leadership that will serve them well throughout life. I appreciate the school's efforts in bring families together for Montessori workshops, social events, music and theater performances, and very special events, such as United Nations Day, where ambassadors or embassy officials come as representatives of the countries whose students attend the school. Oneness Family School is just that!

The middle school ("Ambassadors") level at Oneness is what I have the most experience with as a parent, and I am really impressed by it. Oneness does not have a fancy facility, but you don't need a fancy facility if you have great teachers, which it does. Due to its size, Oneness can't have sports teams or other activities that require scale, but in my opinion, this is more than made up for by the advantages of its small size. A great activity they have done is musicals, which my child has had a great time being part of.

Oneness is truly a special school. The community is incredibly warm and welcoming, filled with families from all over the world who create a rich international culture. The teachers are kind and dedicated, facilitating classroom environments that are creative, engaging, and academically challenging. Most importantly, the school ethos ensures that each child is valued and celebrated for their unique personality and gifts. My daughter has really thrived at Oneness--we're so glad we ended up there!

Oneness was the very first school we looked at for our son and as I continued my research, I couldn’t find another that matched up in terms of learning direction, time spent outdoors, groupwork, student involvement and the community the school offers. After 2 years at oneness the difference in my son’s confidence is so notable, he is calmer and pushes his own limits. The teachers are wonderful and really make it their personal mission to make each child feel included, confident and capable of achieving anything they put their minds to!

We are so grateful that we found Oneness Family School for our son! We had never considered independent school and had actually moved to this area specifically for the public schools, but when MCPS was unable to meet his needs, we were so happy to learn about OFS. Our son has been thriving at OFS, and he is genuinely thrilled to go to school every day. The teachers are phenomenal. They are so good at connecting with each child, and tailoring the learning to fit that learner's individual needs. We moved primarily for academic reasons and to have the ability for our son to go more at his own pace, but one of the biggest blessings has been the social-emotional learning. He has made some great friends there, and loves the caring community. I can't imagine a better environment for learning- highly recommend!

I just want to give a review in light of everything going on with the Coronavirus and our very changed world. . . I just want to say how incredibly lucky I feel to be a part of the Oneness-Family Montessori School community. Yesterday, our founder, Andrew Kutt led our normally weekly community meeting over Zoom with a fantastic sing along of his great songs that all the kids love. He gave shout outs to tons of the kids watching and it was truly an amazing example of our wonderful community at OFS. In addition, our teachers have spent the week working incredibly hard and leading awesome online classes for the kids. My kids have been on Zoom with their classmates from 9-3 each day to help maintain some kind of normalcy. The teachers are adapting with what appears to be ease, and we are all taking this great learning curve one step at a time.

Our son has attended Oneness for three years now. He began the program at the earliest age possible (2 years old). From the first moment we visited the school, we felt a sense of belonging and community. The physical space is very warm and felt like home to us. It is difficult to put your children (especially at such a tender age) in school, but the teachers and the entire community have always felt like family and have been part of our support system. Our son is 4 years old now and I am in awe at the wonderful, caring and talented human being that he is becoming. They say it takes a village and I am indebted to Oneness for being such a big and meaningful part of MY village. I can't thank the teachers and the leadership enough for what they have meant to us during these last few years. Thank you Oneness and keep up the great work!

We had an excellent experience at this school, which our daughter attended from pre-K through middle school. The academics are great and she was beyond well prepared for her transition to a large high school (Oneness did not yet have a high school when she graduated). She also learned many important life skills (communication, organization, collaboration) and made great friends that she still stays in touch with.

Due to small teacher-to-student ratio, the teachers really keep a good eye on the kids and know what's going on at all times. Plus the school's entire mission is based on inclusivity and peace and kindness. Teachers and Admin use conflict resolution techniques if students have conflicts. Bullying, were it to happen, would not be tolerated.

Teachers always want to know as much about students as possible so they can implement different strategies for different individuals. They really listen to you the parent and your concerns. They will work with you and any professionals that you consult to come up with appropriate and often creative solutions to helping your child.

Teachers are Montessori-Trained plus there is a good (low) teacher-to-student ratio so they really get to know their students--what makes them tick and light up, where they need extra support and guidance, etc.

Teachers are extremely flexible and willing to accommodate children's and families' needs when it comes to daily homework. If more is needed, they provide more. If less is needed, teachers respect that too.

Happily, in three years my daughter hasn’t experienced any bullying. The one time she had a run-in with a classmate I emailed her teachers directly and they had a session with both students on peaceful resolution and were able to resolve things before they escalated.

My two children have attended OFS since they were 3. They are now in 4th and 6th grades where they have flourished in their individualized academics (read: follow the child) along with transcendence and reflection. They have been learning a foreign language since age 3 and all those early Montessori lessons learned in their education is coming together in the upper elementary levels. What Oneness offers is a very unique combination of academics and self development. It's a place you have to visit.

Oneness-Family School really teaches to the whole child. My middle school daughter found the love of learning here and it has carried her throughout her education. We need more schools like this one. I will always be grateful for all that she learned here.

OFS is an extremely unique and special place. We have two children, an almost 5 year old and a 2.5 year old, attending OFS this year. We have been with the school since the day our older child turned 2 and have been extremely thrilled with how gentle and nurturing yet firm the teachers are. The teachers are fully engaged and top knotch and have great suggestions for parents and family to help their children grow. The children learn self-awareness and conflict resolution. They are exposed to yoga, foreign languages, and partipate in many field trips even at this young age. We are so impressed with the knowledge and exposure our little ones already have. The community of families is also unique with many people from abroad as well as a locally diverse group of families. The children learn that they are part of a much greater world. Many parents have volunteered in the classroom offering additional exposure to other cultures. The OFS atmosphere is most positive and nurturing as well as challenging.

I can't recommend Oneness Family School enough. We have a 3.5 yar old there and our 2 year old will be starting in the fall. They have a great program for children age 2 through grade 8 (www.onenessfamily.org). The teachers are really engaged and nurturing. We love how diverse the student population is - full of culture and languages. Students preschool and older participate in many field trips around the DC metro area, as well as foreign languages, peaceful resolutions, outdoor education (field trips and overnights for older students), learning about oneself and embracing the differences that make us all unique and special. It is a perfect Montessori/Waldorf blend. Our son loves it and has really gained discipline and kindness that I know the teachers help encourage. More than the teachers, I love the other parents. Down to earth, interesting, diverse parents that all want their children raised in a positive, encouraging (yet challenging) environment.

Within minutes of our first meeting with Andrew Kutt, the Head of Oneness Family School (OFS), it was absolutely clear this was a special place. We visited several other schools before choosing Oneness yet Andrew was the only one to open our meeting by asking about our son. All the other schools opened and closed our meetings by telling us how wonderful they were. We got the company line. Not at Oneness. For example, during our meeting our son's teachers appeared (during their summer holidays no less) to visit with him, take him to his soon-to-be classroom, get to know him, engage him, make him comfortable, establish a connection. This same openness, creativity, collaboration, commitment to excellence, unwavering devotion to the child and to creating a demanding but entirely supportive learning environment are what make OFSl such a special school. Oneness offers high academic standards to develop outstanding students & a challenging curriculum focusing on community, conflict resolution & collaboration to develop broad-minded citizens of the world. With the active support of OFS, we are realizing our best hopes for our son's education & personal development. I highly recommend it

If you are looking for a school that works in partnership with the students and the teachers in learning, look no further. This is a school where the teachers help instill that love of learning and where the kids can be themselves, from age 2 through grade 8. OFS provides an unique environment that stimulates excitement for learning the academics, as well as communications (learning what it means to be a good listener or a friend), performing songs for school events, and taking the learning outside the school doors to the numerous field trips. We tried to move out to our great public school twice, once after Kindergarten and once after 3rd grade and both times, we moved my children back to OFS. Additionally, the parent community will immediately embrace you...support, friendship and volunteerism! You've got to visit.

What a gem. We have two children currently attending OFS. At one point we moved one of our daughters to the ("perfectly fine Montgomery County free local") public school. We moved her back after one semester. And by the way, it is possible to love yourself, your school, your teachers, your body, and your world when you are in middle school. You just have to choose your community carefully. We can't really afford it and we don't live that near the school, but it's worth it all because the school has a real culture of kindness, something pretty rare in the DC area.
