As a parent with students in the building, I am pleased. Weekly newsletters are sent by the teachers as well as the office to keep me informed. PowerSchool allows me to keep up with my childrens grades. Middle school is a tough time, but my children like going to school and thats what matters the most!

The teachers are extremely rude to kids, the school it's always dirty. Kids are rude to people of color and they are not diverse at all, including one of the teachers, saying a slur to 3 kids. My overall review is 2.

We just moved to the area and started at the school last year. Our experience has definitely been a positive one. The administration has been very responsive, and does a great job of keeping us informed as to the events and changes. The teachers are excellent, and the school is in great condition.

Many opportunities for extra academic help before school and during flex. Teachers encourage and develop independence in students responsibility and advocacy. After school clubs run by staff provide additional experiences for students. We have had many good, some excellent, and few poor teachers in our experience with CBMS. Middle School is a tough age group but most of the staff at CBMS, in our experience, have been great for our children.

The kids have a long enough day. They do not need to burdened with extra work.
Posted: February 18, 2020
These poor teachers cannot be teachers because their class size is at least 32 students which is impossible to teach and manage effectively and they have to follow a rigid curriculum with time restraints. No-freedom to be actual teachers .

Ha ha ha ha ha!!!! This is really hilarious! Oh and absolutely NOT!

My son has been lied to by leadership. Specifically the Principal, Assistant Principals and the school Police Officer. As parents we have been lied to and have had stories that were fabricated and then later denied that they said anything of the sort. They have absolutely no control over the constant bullying and the students that are getting away with it in turn hurting other students.

Another chuckle here. There is not the best environment for any child that is a slow learner or is on a special ed program. They focus more on behavioral issues but if the student is still not doing well there is very little assistance being given. The one on one hired help is the worst. They just sit there and say "Do your work" repetitively rather than be helpful with staying on task. For the average student, I know so many that are failing many subjects and are struggling just to get by. Most of the time they just don't understand the work that's being taught.

And here is the reason why I had to remove my son and home school him. The bullying was so bad that my son was not able to think and function normally because he was constantly worried about what was going to happen to him next. Getting blamed for something awful that 2 bullies fabricated was the last straw. We now have unnecessary legal expenses as a result. This school is the worst.

Terrible! The poor education and the bullying is beyond out of control. The administrative needs and overhaul, especially the Principal, 7th Grade Vice Principal and especial the school Police Officer.

terrible because there is no respect or help for students and teacher and administrators cuss out students all of the time

There has been several race relation issues at this school this year. I do believe this should be captured for a prospective parents awareness. Two noose were were hung inside the school alone by mid year.

Concerning that there are always fights at the school not to mention the racist antics. My child complains about the lack of structure, fights, kids yelling down the halls flipping the finger, getting sexually harassed by male students, cat calling, the lack of respect many of the students have for teachers, school, and other students. Sinks being pulled out of walls, vaping in the bathrooms, stuffing paper towels down toilets. Teachers ignoring cussing. Its like adults on Facebook. Getting to be as bad as city schools back in the day.

They give out homework, a lot of students do the homework.
Posted: June 29, 2017
Students stand up to teachers and don't listen to the teachers. The teacher usually sends them to the principal, that is not effective.

My years at Chesapeake Bay Middle School, were awful. I was bullied and none of the staff did anything, I failed my eighth grade year and now I have to go back to that awful school because my parents didn't want to spend 600 dollars on summer school. Now I have to work twice as hard so I can graduate with my friends. When I was failing I tried my hardest to bring one of my grades up, 6 more points was all I needed, I was going in the lowest classes anyway. My experience at C.B.M.S. was the worst I have ever had.

My daughter does well in school, but if there is ever something we need to contact a teacher about, they have been responsive and helpful.

Homework is my child's responsibility, but with parent connect and remind, you can also keep in touch with assignments and grades.

My daughter is enjoying her first year in middle school. She enjoys her teachers and is enjoying academic success. The staff is focused on teaching these kids and preparing them for success in high school.
