Great staff which exhibits great effort everyday! You can always see teachers going above and beyond here to help your child at this school. I have NO idea why there are not better ratings for this school. Though I do realize we live in a world of inhumane individuals who prejudge based on "Demographics", don't let ratings and reviews fool you. This is a great place for kids, good area and bustling out the seams with excellent care & support for kids and parents. I took my son out of a higher-rated school because they had difficulties and haven't been happier!

I really like this school. When fights happen, people get in trouble. WHICH teaches people that actions have consequences.

My daughter has been at a disadvantage since she started here. We are a low income family and dependent only on my income. Since COVID and the reliance on web only classes we've recieved no empathy whatsoever for our situation. For several months we didn't have an internet connection and couldn't get online. I tried to explain the situation to her teacher and she still acts as if it's my daughter's fault we can't get to an online class. When we have had access to the internet the classes are awful. She got a better education in preschool. I hope to transfer my child to a different school next semester because if kindergarten is this bad I doubt it will get better.

In contrast to other schools, this school was homework heavy. It's good to try to influence parents to be involved in education at home. If you're a parent who needs pressure to continue the learning process at home they will do that. If you have your own plan for how to continue education at home, you'll have to do that in conjunction with what the teacher expect you to work on with your child.

The teachers seems to have a heavy structure, which was incredibility good for student with behavior issues.
Posted: March 12, 2019
The school definitely interferes with behavioral development if it's out of line with there values. Of course that comes with the social cost of children individualism and self confidence. If your house values order this is a great school.

This school was better than the much higher rated school she went to last year. This is a great schools for education. I don't think this school is as fun for the children as others but as a parent you know they will get a good education. The bus system had a lot of inconsistencies in my area, even tracking with the school bus app it was difficult to follow.

The facility is nice and fairly new. I am quite impressed with the actual classroom learning techniques and overall there is a HUGE amount of homework/paperwork that comes home. Its important to put more emphasis on individual child learning which would eventually help kids in their future grades.

The principle of the school is fantastic! He does a wonderful job communicating with parents, running the school efficiently with a lot attention to each child - my son really looks up to him. The actual facility is nice and fairly new. I haven't been as impressed with the actual classroom learning techniques and overall there is a HUGE amount of homework/paperwork that comes home. Feel like the worksheets are a little overboard. I wish more emphasis was on individual child learning and less on the testing or teaching for the test.

Too much homework assigned. Sometime the assignment don't correspond with what was learnt in class, causing confusion to the child.
Posted: November 16, 2016
These teachers don't take the time to really teach the kids. It's mainly homework assignments including the weekend. Parents get ready to do 85% of the teaching as they force you to be more responsible for your child's learning than they are. They are quick to write a student off as a bad kid without considering that maybe there is a underlining issue.Teachers are like school bullies when it comes to kids and will fail a child easily if a child is considered "different" than the norm. I would not bring your child here if there are any learning disabilities. Any child that can't keep up is left behind.

Vansville Elementary is a great school that situates in an excellent neighborhood. This is one of the best future schools in the county.

Vansville ES started in 2008 with the 2008-2009 school year. At that time there was a 6th Grade. It was an excellent 6th Grade. Encourage parents to do a little research instead of posting inaccurate information.

This is a great school. I have a child that has attended since kindergarten. The principle is very caring and hands on. He seems to know each child personally and really takes an active role in all aspects of the school. There is a great emphasis on academics and extra help for those students that require it. There are some teachers that are better than others but overall, the teachers and administrators are excellent.

Great schools listed scores for a sixth grade class for this school in 2010. However, this school doesn't have a sixth grade. It ends on the fifth grade. I wonder if this error is causing the school to have a rating of 6 instead of higher. Perhaps the people who run this web site can correct that error. I have two children, a 2nd grader and a 5th grader, and we love the quality of instruction my kids get there. The principal and the teachers really care about the children and the scores speak for themselves. We love Vansville!

I can't understand why GreatSchools has dropped Vansville from 8 to 6 rating within about a year. My kids are in K & 2 and doing great. The teachers & principal are the best around & test scores are excellent. Nothing has changed. GreatSchools rating system is wrong on this one; just read the reviews.

We are very happy with the quality of education our two kids get at this school. The principal is awesome and the teachers are amazing. It is hard to imagine a modern day public school system with over 800 students that runs this well. Keep up the great job of creating our country's future business and government leaders.
