Faculty does not do their jobs, teachers do not prepare students well, counselors and admin are very unhelpful.

When buying the tickets for the football game
one thing that is not under the rules that if I arrived late they wouldnt let me come in. This made me upset because I already had paid the tickets.

Our two children (3 grades apart) attended Northwest High School. Both of our children required Individualized Educational Programs. All of children's teachers, counselors and coaches worked diligently with our 2 children. The children's I.E.P. Teams were so very caring and conscientious throughout their 4 years at NWHS. Northwest High School was a great fit for both of our children. Our children attend great colleges now thanks to Northwest High School.

I have had 2 children attend NWHS and they have enjoyed the experience, friends sports school and glasses. They were prepared for competitive university life.

If you are thinking of transferring your student to NWHS - think twice, would be my advice. The only thing they care about is "looking good" before the county. The principal is a condescending, know-it-all lady, who looks down on people and is ill equipped to deal with the diverse students/parents population. Most of the teachers are really good though and do care for the students - it is the administration of the school that creates problems.

Former student. I believe Northwest HS prepared and nurtured its students positively in order to obtain future success. Additionally, the internship programs also helped to shed light into what to expect in the real world.

NWHS has been amazing over the past 4 years. My kids are consistently challenged to excel, and are both attending excellent colleges next fall. I am more than pleased with my experience with this school and its academic programs.

Northwest has proven to put the students first and prepare them we'll for the transition to college. I firmly believe in Montgomery County schools and Northwest has not at all been anything short of exceptional.

The entire goal of high school is to adequately prepare teens for college. I feel Northwest has done just that and then some more with the positive emphasis on extra circular activities and honors courses.

This year, Northwest HS ranks 50th among the top 100 D.C. area high schools according to the Washington Post. I believe the school will continue to climb with the successes its students and teachers are achieving. The academics are excellent, and the average learner is supported as well as the high achieving learner in the Ulysses Program and AP classes, as are students in NW's wonderful LAD program. The school is very ethnically and socioeconomically diverse, rendering much flavor to the high school experience in Germantown. Keep up the great work, Northwest!
