2nd grade was horrible. Me. Smith's class is just overcrowded and I don't think she can handle it. The other two years at the school were better than this last year.

In 2nd grade, my child rarely has homework. However in the younger grades, the students had more homework to help with the lessons they are learning

Teachers are unable to effectively motivate children. They seem to pick at every small thing. When they are having a bad day, it rubs off on the children. It seems they have a lot of bad days. It also seems as though they do not know how to handle children. *My experiences are of course based off if the teachers my child had, which is only 3 main teachers and 3 support teachers. So this review is based off of them.

The leadership has gone down since there was a change in leadership. The VP talks to parents as if she was talking to a child. The principal lies. She said she would look into situations or complaints and she didn't. She also said she would get back with me in regards to those complaints, she still hasnt.

The teacher actually told my child not to tell her about anything that was going on with another child if he wasn't involved.

I have 2 sons who attended SOES, and I will say that when my oldest moved on to Horn Lake Intermediate School, I realized just how spoiled we were with the excellent teachers and administrative staff at SOES! Both my boys had Ashley Knotts for Kindergarten, and she was most excellent. My boys both got a really strong foundation that helped them succeed every year after. I never had ANY problems out of any of the faculty at SOES, and it was a true joy and a blessing for my children to be able to attend school at SOES. I wish all the other schools in Desoto County were this fantastic!!!

This was a fantastic school for my children to grow and learn. Every grade they experienced was awesome, with teachers who went that extra mile every step of the way. My children to this day still say that Ms. Young and Ms. Holland were their favorite teachers. Kudos to SOES!
