not a terrible school, one thing is that its disgusting, bugs are everywhere, dead and alive. Not to mention last year the bathrooms felt like they were cleaned maybe once a week, trash stayed in the bins for days at a time, which in my opinion should be emptied daily.
But I have learned here, and a couple teachers are people who are actually willing to teach you instead of make you stare at a screen for an entire class, Which is most of them

I went to middle school here and there was bullying and harassment for me and my friends the whole time. Never felt safe. The officer on duty would just threaten you to calm you down.

This is the worst school I've ever sent my child to. My child has less than a 30 in one of the classes. Wasn't informed of a child bringing a knife to school. Sometimes the assignments are on the computer sometimes they're not. Homework and assignments become a guessing game. Kids are threatened with a write up if they get out their seats. Some of the teachers can't even spell correctly consistently in emails. Homeschool your kids. There's a reason why you can't review on Google maps. Stateside elementary informed parents of everything but with this school you have to go to their website to be informed and even that's lacking. Parent portal has a huge improvement from last year. IEP teacher is great at her job. This school is at the bottom 50% in the state for the year 2025.

My daughter was given a zero for a quiz she missed while out sick. She was not notified when she returned to class either by the teacher or Powerschool. This is a violation of school policy but the principal refused to allow my daughter to make up the quiz.

The district said the principal can do as she pleases with grades.

This school is of the... i dont really know lol

many of the teachers here are pretty "Strict" but there are handful of decent teachers

bullying here is pretty bad and the school usually never handled by the staff and goes on way longer than it should be

the teaching here is usually decent too bad sometimes the teacher will drone on their daily "you guys are the worst class I ever had" rant and it wastes to much time

this is this ableist problem at my school where a bunch of neurodivergent people are made fun of because of their disability

the special education tho is pretty decent alot of nice people there

at the end of the day I wouldn't really recommend this school unless you are SUPER downbad to find a middle school that will house your son/daughter

My experience is terrible I believe we do not get the education we deserve because of favoritism and uncontrollable chaos in the classroom. The community is very nice the staff there are really nice but I believe that they need to do less trying to be cool and more teaching (I am not saying don't be cool staff I am saying teach more). It is not a safe school as I have seen countless fights , and evenscissors being thrown across the classroom.

Honestly, a terrific school I hate that people hate on it so much,the drugs are bad an stuff but like theres onlly like two people who do it. It such a homey school and I love it, its better than new bridge so!!

As a current student at this school, I recommend this school. There are some problems like, kids bringing drugs, the bullying, and some other things. But I've been bullied, and it has been handled. Most of the staff are great, and they help out a lot. The school does have bugs and is a little dirty but the janitors clean well so it's not that big of a deal.

This school is horrible there is kids bringing drugs on campus and there is a lot of bullying. I have been assaulted multiple times and nothing has been done because of it there are fights like everyday and people are sneaking in the bathroom to do the dirty and nothing is being done about it. There is also kids in 6th 7th and 8th grade vaping and doing drugs and all the other stuff and the teachers are no better they will yell at you and write you up for no reason and they dress code the girls for no reason like its not our fault the boys cant keep their thing in their pants its not the girls fault. A lot of the teachers are practically never here so we arent really learning anything so that is not good. JUST DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE IF YOU DONT WANT THEM TO START DOING DRUGS

My wife as I mentioned in a previous review finally had a car from the principal about a teacher and her verbal misconduct toward my son and other kids. As the saying goes don't expect much you willnt get much. This is definitely that with the principal of this school. Send your kids elsewhere with a principal who's not afraid to take responsibility for his teachers actions.

Hello, I am a student at this North Woods and I would like to take the time out of my night to warn all new students and parents looking to sign their children up for this school. The first thing I would like to touch bases on is the teachers and how we learn. The teachers are extremely rude, for example one of my teachers write students up for having their heads on the desks. When I have this teacher for my period with her its the end of the day. Many of the students are tired by starting the day at 7:55 AM. I struggle to keep my head up as I'm drowsing off, sometimes I want to put my head on the desk because im so tired. But then I remind myself that if I put my head on the desk I will be written up, sent to the office and miss my class. The second thing I want to touch bases on is how we learn, in homeroom/enrichment we do Iready that has math and reading on the program. I have overheard many students that they want to die and not be here while doing this program. I feel bad because I overthink about what if they keep these thoughts and they actually are gone one day? We rarely have homework and sometimes im glad we don't but I do think about what if I forget about our lessons we do and that I fail? After working we go into physical activity that lasts around 10 minutes. My friends and I walk around the football field as we dont find interest in the activity's they have because we dont have enough balls/room to play. Me and my friends notice that we dont have enough time to walk a full lap. We were "late" to line up and to meet the class, our consequence was that we would have to do jumping jacks and not play with others if we were late to line up again. After physical activity we go to lunch, this roughly lasts around 20 minutes, kids who bring a home lunch have enough time to eat. Mean while the lunch line wraps around the entire lunch room, leaving the kids who eat school lunch around 10 minutes to eat. Were not aloud to get up to get water or to get forks/spoons. We will get written up for getting up for not being aloud too. After lunch we have on-core, I have band for oncore and I noticed that when I came back from the bathroom, my hoodie was missing. I went to all the lost and founds in the school and my hoodie was still not found. Ive found out kids on campus steal and only care about themselves. They are selfish and do not care. This is the reality of what your signing your kid up for, I wrote this to warn everybody about this school. Thank you

my daughter is a member of the LGBTQ+ and gets bullied and made fun of and has changed the way she dressed cause of it kids should be able to enjoy something and not be bullied and shamed for liking it also i recall my daughter coming home crying cause of it that is no way a school should be ran

Im a student at this school and let me just say, some teachers are amazing, but thats only a small handful of them, the rest are rude. I recall sometime this year a teacher said the n-word to her class and she was allowed to continue working, im not sure if shes still on her break or if she is back yet. Staff is not effective to bullying or any type of issues or harassment.

This school is not a safe space for LGBTQ+ students. The student counselor who still, actively works there called a transgender student the T-slur and then asked why the student can say it and the counselor couldn't. I'm shocked the counselor has not been fired for that, and I truly hope she does get fired for it. Another staff member had said to a different student, referring to another student who is part of the LGBTQ+ that they are a "girl pretending to be a boy.". Please do not send your kids here if they are part of the community.

Horrible. As a student here I have nearly got ISS for "offending a teacher" in a argument i had with the assistant principal. The teachers and staff are pretty much horrible, only few teachers are actaully cool and actually teach us something, and did i mention the staff are snowflakes, they take everything like its a big deal! And sometimes the staff will do bad things that can get them fired, but guess what they dont do anything about it! There is so many more bad things to explain this school, but all i have to say now is that if you have the chance, dont go to this horrible school.
p.s - on their website, so they dont make it seem like the school is low quality and bad, they delete any bad reviews up there.

The bad teachers at this school are ruining my child's middle school experience. I have so much to say just about last week! I don't think there is enough space here to write about all the terrible things that have happened to my child. The poor kids beat up on the middle class kids. The poor kids are coddled while the middle class kids are antagonized and taunted by the teachers. My child has been physically attacked on 2 separated occasions. The administration doesn't care about the fact the some of their teachers bully the students. The teachers at this school are very lazy, do not grade work on time and are not ashamed to admit it! They go on and on lecturing the students about life and how hard its going to be for them when they get in to high school, but then they don't even prepare the kids for high school level work! I know my children are worse off for having gone to this school. The principal and Vice Principal don't care about your child's problems and are fake, fake! The teachers are extremely childish and are on their cell phones non stop! My child's experience with this school and my experience with this school has been a living hell.

I have had 2 kids in Northwoods and they both had the same 7th grade Math teacher. This teacher is not adequate to teach. As a community many parents feel the same way about this teacher. The administration doesn't seem to care that this teacher is a bully and mean!

The principals and teachers are not qualified for their jobs. My child went from being an A/B student to failing since attending this school. They single my child out. It appears they are setting my child up to fail. They do not give my child credit for completed work leaving my child with 0's. Because it appears they deliberately will not go in a look to see that my child has done the work. Telling my child when my child ask about it the teacher will respond "I have five classes to grade" well, the other students seem to be getting credit for completed work? Also one teacher feels compelled to constantly bring up to the students how he was abused as a child and bullied. Very unprofessional to discuss with students. Also if a students political beliefs differ from this same teachers he seems to target my child for my child's different views. He is a very unqualified unprofessional teacher and should in my opinion find another line of work. My child's teachers seem to deliberately single out my child looking for any reason to penalize my child for the slightest things that other students do and are not singled out and penalized for. I believe if the teachers actually attempted to help my child rather than claiming they were, my child would be a better student. Some of the teachers here come off as extremely childish. I can not wait until we no longer have to deal with this school. If you are in district, I strongly suggest you try very hard to find another middle school in district for your child to attend.

The administration is great! They deal with issues head on and are very communicative with parents. As with any school, there are a few teachers who are in need of mentorship or a different profession but, for the most part, you can tell staff cares about the kids. Academics are improving and a sense of community is being built. On the way up!

This school is preparing my child for a career as a cashier in a local grocery store. If she is lucky, she might make assistant manager in 10 years. She might make it into college after 20 years of self-study. Do yourself a favor and find a different school if you get a chance.
