Out of about 100 teachers only 10 of them make me and other students feel safe. They actually teach us or help us with our mental health. The students are not as bad as the teachers but still bad. There are mold in the lockers and overall I just dont like school because of it. It may look nice but it is BAD. The only teachers who are good are the special educational teachers, a few encore and only 2 teachers from each grade. (Dont mind my grammar but overall I hate school)

It is my first year here and the some of the teachers don't help students with their work when they need it, and it leaves us confused. and the work they give us is too hard and too much to do in just one day.

I'm in my last year here and its horrible I'm about 5 weeks in now and principle is so disrespectful and it's too the point bullying is getting worse there's molded food in the lockers and WE DONT EVEN USE THEM. They assign to much work, and it was so much easier in 6th grade but now 8th grade is just gotten worse the school don't even care about us the only people who do in Mrs. miles and Mrs. Maddison. The teacher some are good some are just pure evil. I'm so glad this is my last year here the dress code is so demanding if you don't like what we wear make a uniform. The teachers look at us in the bad places like y'know THE places.
if you think this a great school here re-read this trust me jcms or others are better.. if you do good luck

The worst school ever, drugs, cursing uneducated teachers, no teachers assistants, violent fights daily. I cant say it enough, do not send you children here. Its exactly like a prison thats the temperament, twenty years I have lived in the area. #Neveragain

I do not recommend this school to anyone. We've had a big issue with bullying that has been addressed countless times from the teachers to the principals. All pleas to seriously address this concern fell on deaf ears. Students are disrespectful to each other and to the staff. The school's disciplinary actions are lackadaisical to say the least. Furthermore, the lack of care about education is laughable. We numerous discussions about grades, IEPs, and other concerns regarding grades, the teachers seem they would rather do anything they can to push the kids through than to do anything to actually produce the desired learning outcomes. My child was an A/B student before attending this school and now my child is BARELY getting by. My family has decided it is our best interests to homeschool my child just to keep her from further going downhill. This is a truly bad school with equally bad staff...

this school is horrible, I would definitely not recommend. most teachers are highly disrespectful and don't care about the student's well-being or how well they are understanding the material. I am a student here and I get bullied CONSTANTLY for being "different" which, you can expect in middle school, but this is just ridiculous. I have been cussed out for no reason, pushed, threatened, (ect.) and APPERENTLY racial slurs aren't a "priority" right now, because i hear almost every slur in the book, every day, constantly. this school CLEARLY needs work.

I cannot express enough, do NOT allow your child to go to this school. I almost lost my child due to him being overwhelmed from bullying. The school was aware of the issues, but took no action to resolve the situation. It got to the point that I had to switch schools in the middle of the year and they couldn't have been more happy to help us unenroll as quickly as possible.

They need more experienced and better staff.
Posted: October 24, 2019
This is an absolute negative. They dont care about the students.

Not at all. Child was bullied and lies told and they believe the bullies. Dont send your child here.

What a joke! They claim to have a no bullying policy, but yet it happens everyday right under their noses. The principal is a big bully herself.

This school is HORRIBLE! They need to remove everyone currently there and replace with people that actually care about the students and parents needs.

They say they do however, they ignore racial tension. Apparently racial slurs is not a priority in 2019 at their school.
Posted: March 14, 2019
When administrators say they are going to return your call after an incident with your child they should call . They are complacent.

This school refuses to enroll my 14 year old son due to his disabilities. The attorney for the school system has NO knowledge of basic human rights. MY SON HAS A RIGHT TO AN EDUCATION! If you are experiencing similar problems with this school district, please contact the new media and the Justice Department. WITH ENOUGH PRESSURE, THEY WILL HAVE TO ABIDE BY THE CONSTITUTION. We are ALL equal under the law.

I think as a child who attends this school that it is an ok school but could be better. There is bullying everywhere and teachers can become very hypocritical. The lunches are terrible about 70% of the time and if I could bring a home lunch I definitely would. Also with EOGs around the corner I feel a little unprepared. Although I feel like Mrs.Cassidy (the principle) is striving to make this a better school.

This school definitely has some growing to do. Middle school years are tough. The school is working to reduce bullying but the deck is stacked here. There are some families that are dealing with socio-economic issues that are very challenging for middle school age children. This school has very poor testing scores and the teachers work very hard to inspire their students. They are structured, motivated, creative, and intentional. I do not see them being complacent. I see them working with my child who I love dearly but he is LAZY. I love powerschool.com. My son's progress is sent to me daily. You have to go into the school to do so.. If your child is in middle school, children need closer supervision and this is a fairly large middle school with the issues that can accompany schools this size. IMHO, stay engaged and active in your child's academic progress. HCMS is sort of the "Little Engine That Could," but does not believe it yet. The "kiss-and-go" is equal to New Bridge Middle but parent engagement is very low. The kids need/crave, "You are not a baby anymore but I am still here if there is a problem." How well do kids in sports do when their parents never show?

I would not recommend this school. The teachers and staff are not helpful and the AVID program is HORRIBLE it is supposed to help you all they do is give you extra work and less time to do it but the good thing about it is you are more likely to get into colledge . Being an AVID student myself I know how it feels my teacher picks favorites and I was not a favorite and it did not feel good. Some of my friends agree that the teacher picks favorites. However, the Band program is AMAZING in my opinion. The director is very nice and helpful. Also, my teacher gave out the good awards to the favorites. For example, my teacher gave this kid the best soccer player award and gave someone else the"Most Reflections" award and I got the "Slowest Writer" award. The school is also filled with bullies and just people who are just straight up mean. I have never been bullied before but people mess with me and steal food from my lunchbox and other things from me and are mean to me sometimes. That's the reason why I am not fond of this school. On the bright side, I am moving this summer and I am EXTREMELY happy I don't have to go back to that HORRID place ever again.

RUN AWAY! Do NOT let your children attend this school! This is the WORST school by far! The teachers and faculty are lazy. Children deal with bullies and sexual harassment everyday. Teachers just turn the other cheek, even when a child cries out for help. They are quick to let the bullies walk away, but punish the student that was being bullied/sexually harassed! It's like the children are running the school. Absolutely INSANE!
