We move often due to my husband's job. We have been to many cities and schools in different states. This school is by far the worst school my daughter has attended. Not only is the office staff incompetent but also extremely rude. It took several attempts to get my daughters information from this school to give to her current school. So much so we had to file a complaint with the superintendents office and get her information that way. The principal finally called us back after the fact, just to stand behind the nonsense portrayed by his tactless staff, just to hang up on my husband after he found out we went over his head to the superintendents office. Throughout the year last year we received emails almost daily stating that students were found with weapons or a fight had broke out and ambulances were called. Not to mention to have the ideologies of this school forced on my child are both extreme and distasteful. I can say with certainty, I am both relieved and grateful for our most recent move. That my child will no longer be prohibited to grow in this cesspool.

I went to Central as a Kid and now my son is a freshman, and the teachers and school staff are so attentive and are always informing of grades, events or any updates. Central is academically strong with great resources and opportunities. I love the events, sports and also all the involvement. Great school overall!!

Many phenomenal teachers who care about their students. Like anywhere, a few teachers arent great but many are exceptional.
The office staff is incredibly rude and disorganized. The administrators are some of the worst Ive ever seen. Abundance of safety issues with weapons being brought to school. Overall, Im not sure the pros outweigh the cons for sending your child here.

I'm honestly not sure why Central High is rated so low on this site. This is widely know as one of the best if not the best in the city/surrounding area. I graduated from Central two years ago, and I have only good memories. I was an IB honors student, and all my teachers were wonderful and actually cared about my education. I still keep in contact with many of them. The students there obviously care about their school, and during sporting events almost the whole city comes out; the stands are packed. The school is extremely diverse, and all groups are accepted. I never saw anyone get bullied, and the few cases we had were quickly and effectively dealt with by administration. I would definitely recommend this school for anyone interested in the IB program, as it is the only IB high school in Omaha.

There are so many kids if you get bullied it's pretty easy to avoid that person. Also for as violent as it can get sometimes nobody who goes there is okay with bullying. Bullies i saw always got stopped. Kids stand up for eachother. It's just sometimes people gotta sort things out over a guy or whatever with fistiuffs. Not bullying but brawling.

Awesome. Loved it. Teachers were the BOMB school events were fun. There was a lot of homework help and cool clubs and I felt noticed and taken care of in a big school which was awesome. I rember my teachers and will my whole life. Also super diverse but not in a forced way. Felt like the melting pot america should be.

They have high expectations for you especially in honors classes. They have a weighted GPA Which is a fairer policy for all students.

They notice you. Class sizes are small even though it's a GIANT school. All my teachers cared about me even the ones I didn't like and even in classes I wasn't good at. I didn't have to be a shining star for my teacher to care about me.

They do a good job of preaching the message for the most part but for some kids it falls on deaf ears. It's hard to respect the message when you don't respect authority in general. They do try really hard to make you feel care about tho.

It's hard it's a giant school and security could probably be tighter. There are a lot of kids from rough homes and some of them fight in the hallways but it always gets broken up pretty quick. But more security would definitley be a boone to this school.

My school is very diverse which allows both staff and students to learn about others and their cultures, etc. With so many backgrounds, students learn a lot when others bring a mixing pot of information to class with them. Most teachers are focused on getting the most out of their teachings and see improvement in scores and personalities as well. I enjoy going to Central but the security staff should be rehired because they lack in there job, or at least one man does. He's useless. Other than that, the admin is great! The principal is having a hard time enforcing rules on a daily basis and needs to step up his expectations for daily behavior based on what I've seem and heard. Besides that, the school is a very well brought up educational school!!!

Here at Omaha Central High School, you'll find dedicated teachers and thriving students. I've been here for almost two years and I plan on staying. The IB program here is amazing. Perhaps you've heard rumors about this school, but there nothing here that you wouldn't find at any other school. It's a matter of who is willing to put in the effort. I adore Central's diversity, opportunities, and overall appeal. Once an eagle, always an eagle.

I graduated from Central in 2008 with a rounded education that allowed me to complete my bachelor of arts in English in only three years. I was able to opt out of math, science, and political science gen eds in college because Central provided classes that were sometimes even better than the college classes they could offer me. In addition to that Central has one of the most prestigious classical music programs in the state and gave me the opportunity to perform professionally with Mulberry Lane and at the College World Series. Central is the home of anyone who goes there. I often describe the feeling of family at Central as a mini Husker nation. The teachers of this school are some the best I've ever studied under, and as I complete my final semester of graduate school for my Master's degree, I can without a doubt say that Central is the reason I have the friends, world experience, and education I have today.
