The administration of this school is poor in addition to the lack of interest in helping the children. Children are bullying and teachers and principals don't do anything even when the parents approach them. In addition to the fact that they have people in job positions who do not have a degree or certification. To work as educators, you must first receive education. This is the main reason why they don't know how to face the challenges that such delicate work entails.

My daughter attended GBCS from Kindergarten through 8th grade. We could not have been happier with our experience, they provided a safe place for our daughter to figure out the way she learned best. She has graduated, but continues to view GBCS as "home" and visits frequently. As with all schools it does have challenges, however I saw the administration deal with many issues, either social or academic, efficiently and with great care.

The teachers and Director at GBCS have no idea how to deal with small children, my 5 year old had a horrible experience here and was also Bullied and they did nothing about it.

Needs diversity! The same type of ethnicity is dominating. Anti buying is not been taking care of, accordingly,,at least for me.

What a warm and caring school community! GBCS seems to be a place where everyone feels truly welcome. As other reviews note this school has an amazingly dedicated staff. They struggle, however, with meeting a very diverse set of needs and often seem to teach to the lowest common denominator. Although the concept of the Personalized Education Plan (PEP) is great in theory, parents of students performing at or above grade level must be prepared to advocate for challenges in the classroom to ensure their bright kids don't get bored. The school also struggles to engage a diversity of parents in Board and other organizing efforts -- those parents that do participate are committed, but represent a very small subset of the community. Lastly, with the exception of the 2011 Talent Show (which was a truly remarkable effort), after school programming leaves a lot to be desired. The regular fee-based ASP is little more than a holding pen.
