I would not recommend this school. There are serious concerns regarding student safety and the way some staff interact with young children. At times, the behavior from those in positions of authority feels more like intimidation than support, which is deeply concerning in an environment meant to protect and nurture kids. When issues are raised, they are not handled with the urgency or accountability they deserve. The overall culture feels more focused on protecting the institution than prioritizing the well being of its students. Families should not have to question whether their child is safe and treated with respect. No parent should ever have to question whether the adults at school are part of the problem instead of part of the protection!

We are parents of two children at Hopewell Crest and have been disappointed with the quality of education they have been receiving. The curriculum is focussed primarily on mathematics not reading. Our children have struggled as a result. We believe reading is the key to unlocking a child's ability to comprehend all subjects. We have addressed our concerns with our children's education with both faculty and administration each year with little to no results. In addition, it is the only school we know that allows a child who gets a score of 80 or below to bring a test home and correct, and get a 15 point higher score, adjusting the child's score from a high C to a B or even an A. We feel this is padding a child's true grade, and even misleading them to believe they are doing better than they actually are. While correcting mistakes provides a learning opportunity, it should be done in the classroom, and not affect/skew the ultimate grade, and provides false encouragement that a child is performing better than he/she might be. This does not really address the true learning problem at hand.

Easily the best school in Cumberland County. Test scores bear that out. Great staff, great community.
