This school is the worst school I have ever known about and the worst that any of my children have attended. The school staff treat parents and students very poorly. If you don't like your job at the school, quit. If you don't like teaching, quit. If you cannot have a positive attitude while doing you job, quit. I wish I could say that I have just interacted with the staff on a bad day, but it is every single interaction that I have had has been extremely unprofessional and rude. I wish there was a way out of the school without moving. I would recommend that (if you can) homeschool your kids until you can get them into Cloudcroft or any neighboring school in Alamogordo (except Oregon I hear they aren't any different than North).

Parents are never informed about students homework or school activities in a timely manner.

Teachers refer to students as "fools" regularly and ignoramus's problem students. Removing the behaving students from the class rooms and leaving the problem students in the classroom thereby disrupting the entire class instead of sending the problem child to the principle or counselor.

They refuse to follow the school rules as set forth in the handbook. The leadership allows teachers and secretaries with poor attitudes to treat parents and students poorly. The leadership of this school does not enforce a professional atmosphere.

If they truly supported students with learning differences they wouldn't allow one student to disrupt a class without having a counselor talk to the student. They also would have classes that are ONLY for the students with different learning requirements.

North Elementary almost encourages bullying. They allow the bus kids to get away with punching, kicking, swearing, throwing tantrums and other nonsense and the entire school staff turns on the non bus kids as if they are the problem.

North elementary School has not been the best school my children have been to. Being Military we move a lot. We did not mind that the school is older..it is not about looks but about the teaching, teachers ,principal , staff and leadership. we have had a bad experience with this school and we have never had that at any other school. The principal seems to be over strong, intimidating, and talks down to not only his staff members but also parents and the students. The teachers even though there are some great ones at this school there is a a few that just do not seem on top of things. The fifth grade students have not been prepared as they should for middle school and rarely bring home any homework or reading assignments. The kindergarten classes are great in some ways and in others . I do not feel the teachers communicate well with the parents and you are not updated as to how your child is doing or what you need to help work on at home with them for the next school year. With all this said the school is not good at keeping you updated with what is going on at school and when they have special events. The only great thing about the school, is the nurses are fantastic!
