They prioritize attendance above all on account of their concern for funding. They do not honor IEPs. Any solutions they offer during IEPs when there is a medical or questionable underlying medical condition are all made as a means to quiet the parent. They are rarely followed through on. Communication does not exist and most the time parent's concerns will be ignored. School nurse's will badmouth you in front of your children and relatives. They will not hesitate to pass judgement either on you via phone call. They do not honor doctor's notes and put your children at risk of injury. Instructors do not communicate with each other. There is no collaboration making it hard to have an effective team for healthy supports in place. Would not recommend this school to anyone who has students who have special needs. They will automatically dub your student as the problem and will take zero accountability themselves. Should you seek their help, their best advice to you will be to remove your student from their school and seek online alternatives. They are a perfect mirror reflection of what is wrong with today's society. Shame on you, El Dorado!

I have never dealt with a more incompetent administration office in my life.
* they didn't register my daughter correctly because someone quit over the summer
*no one knew how to help with the parentview app
*spent 3 hours trying to get her a computer for registration day
* every time I speak to the office I speak to people that have no idea what they are doing
*I cant tell you how many times I've had to respell my daughter's name in one sitting as they type one letter at a time.
*no sense of urgency whatsoever
*condescending rude people.

What a wonderful school! The assistant principal was so nice to talk to about education. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and my kids love this school! One of the best in ABQ!

This school will not allow itself to progress. They are not very inclusive. Administration seems very hesitant to manage bullying. The curriculum is lacking and expectation from teachers is low. If your child is an athlete, do them and yourself a favor and send them elsewhere. The parent politics and favoritism from coaches make what should be a fun, enjoyable experience anything but. The all around culture at the school is less than desirable.

Both of my sons graduated from Eldorado and had wonderful experiences academically, socially, and with extracurricular activities. The teachers set high standards and communicated well with parents and parent involvement was encouraged. My sons were challenged appropriately, worked hard and were both accepted into their choice of top tier universities in other states where they both graduated in 4 years with honors. Both say they felt safe and supported throughout high school. I truly appreciate all that the EHS staff did to give them an amazing high school experience and prepare them for success in college.

Mixed Feelings. Daughter is a straight A student so has done well in Academically. Leadership and lack of Instructor throughout the school Year especially a Junior year totally unacceptable.

My Daughter is a Junior and has a Physics class that was without an Instructor for over 3/4 of the year. She has learned nothing from this class and is totally Unprepared in this area of Academia for College. New Instructor plays favorites and graded her down for Lines not being straight on assignment even though ALL answers correct. Poor leadership and Education skills! Daughter has a 89.675 and Instructor will not Adjust Grade.

Physics course listed above. Have tried to contact Administration regarding lack of Instructor throughout the 2018-2019 School Year. Not very responsive to Parents/ Taxpayers that pay their Salaries.

This may be the case with Students but when an Instructor plays Favorites that in my opinion is a form of Bullying . Adults should be the ones that are above the favorite/nepotism games.

Varsity Cheer program is totally unfair and they save spots for 8th graders that arent even enrolled in the school yet and dont bother moving up the girls that have already been in the program for 2 years and are going to be juniors and have worked very hard. Doesnt say much about the coaches. Shame on cheer program!!! Its about the girls not about you!!!!!!

Our three kids attend Eldorado High School. Overall we have been very satisfied with their experiences. Great teachers, great administration, and tons of extracurricular options. The high academic expectations have been great for our kids.

We have a 2014 graduate and will have a 2017 graduate. What was most important to us as a family was an academically rigorous curriculum. We are raising children to become scientists, doctors, etc. We weren't looking for teachers who were nice, we were looking for teachers who were excellent at what they do, and are willing to help our kids be better students, better learners, and better members of their community, whether here in ABQ or out of state. We have found that here, and I would like to call out a few of the teachers in particular: Cole Raison, Drama, whose time investment in EHS kids is really high, Jen Coughlin, who is one of THE best science teachers I've met, the Math Dept for fighting the good fight daily, AND Valerie Velhagen who is worth her weight in gold. Now if Mrs. McDougal could just teach AP English IV again????

We love Eldorado! Two of our children just finished their first year there, and they were able to take a lot of electives that interested them, like orchestra, guitar, culinary arts, and desktop publishing. They're excited about the classes they'll be taking next year, and there are a lot of activities for them to get involved in.

The principal is at every monthly meeting of the parents' organization, and he really listens to what the parents have to say. He recently received an Administrator of the Year award, which didn't surprise us at all!

I would highly recommend Eldorado to anyone looking for a good high school in Albuquerque.

This school has it all. An active involved administration, excellent teachers and challenging courses. This school offers it all, and students will be engaged and enjoy the learning experience.

EHS has a lot of good things going for it. There is a sense that teachers understand that students have unique learning requirements and do their best to develop lesson plans that engage them, rather than simply generating busy work. Some jaded teachers teach only to the test and not to the students. The challenges teachers face, however, is a lack of general support from administration. The administration seems more pre-occupied by throwing their weight around as administrators with offices far removed from the classrooms, teachers, and students to really care about the experiences of those within the classrooms. Parents are given attention, but seemingly only based on their income. Solutions to problems are not often addressed; rather, a sense of finding someone to blame for the problems is more prevalent. The overall sense of student safety continues to be a growing concern, and little administrative support is given for discipline.
