The school may have changed its name, but it is still run by the same problematic staff. My child regularly came home in tears because of how they were treated, and there was clear favoritism among students. I was also informed by another parent that a teacher slapped her child’s hand in the younger classroom.

The school does not follow state standards, and when my child returned to public education, they were significantly behind academically. While the school claims to offer an individualized approach, that support appears to be reserved only for a select few. The environment relies on fear rather than encouragement or support.

I cannot imagine recommending this school. During my child’s time there, the overwhelming sentiment among parents was frustration and disappointment at best.

Our son started attending LVEA in Kindergarten and is now an 8th grader. He’s had a fantastic experience. The teacher’s are wonderful and truly work with each child and family to tailor the experience to match the child’s needs.

Our son is very gifted in math but less so in other areas and they worked with him to challenge him appropriately in each subject while also letting him spend the majority of his time with his age-peers.

I have been with WCEA for about 5-6 years now and it is the best school I’ve been to! Everyone is super nice and friendly, homework takes around 15-30 minutes. This year i have been doing online since i’m not in Las Vegas anymore, yet it’s still the same and if I could stay at one school for the rest of my life, this would be the one.

The class sizes are so small that bullying can be observed and handled immediately if it occurs.

I have been involved with WCEA for many years. The student turn over rate is very low usually one student leaving per year and usually not abruptly. Homework is minimal and is adjusted for students if needed even for the ones with ADD if requested. Parents are very involved if they choose to be. They volunteer in the classroom, drive field trips, and can be in the PTO. The school has an open door policy where parents/guardians can come in any time during school hours and view the classes. Parents get to see and talk to the staff each day at pick up and drop off. The school even goes the extra mile in allowing students with special needs to adjust their participation in activities that over-stimulate them and do something that would be better for them at that time. Parents also support the school by donating needed supplies on a sign-up list that anyone can see at anytime. Redirection is used for behaviors that are not conducive to classroom learning; children are not placed in corners. The teachers are very encouraging and are anti-bullying. In fact, the director is the parent of a special needs child. Overall, WCEA is a great school that inspires children to be their best self.

This school uses a Super 16 guide of expectations to help the students learn to make good choices in their attitude and behavior. This approach helps develop character in all of the students.

Leadership was only effective when we finally pulled our child out of their school.

From the beginning we wanted to be involved, and included, in the school like any good parent would.

We were bluntly told most parents don't ask questions and we should just leave school to handle everything. Even a simple question of "how was our child today?" turned into an issue.

We began to feel excluded and shunned. It became obvious they wanted us to drop off/pick up our child then leave.

The only time they showed interest in speaking with us was when we pulled our child out of the school. At that point we couldn't get them to leave us alone. Calls and emails came flooding in on how we are making a huge mistake.

Our child has ADD which is why we chose this school. Instead of catering to our child needs, as they said they would, we found our child would be ignored or segregated.

Our child was routinely pulled out of extra curricular activities because he wasn't paying attention. Apparently this is how they cater to children with special needs.

Huge disappointment. I feel our child suffered emotionally at this school and I feel horrible I didn't recognize what was happening sooner.

Quite often other children and their parents would, out of the blue, stop coming. No word on why.

My guess is, like us, they found out something and abruptly pulled their child put as well.

We weren’t paying $720/month for our son to play Lego’s by himself. They refused to offer an alternative to include my son in class. They said banning my son from karate was not a punishment. My son took it that way as their playground is the parking lot. The owner said they are not obligated to tell parents when children are banned from class. They said they do not have to tell parents if there is a problem or involve them in their decisions.

They claim they teach kids of all abilities but expected my son with ADHD to stay on task. The school dropped subtle hints to medicate him. When my son got over stimulated in karate he was banned from going. He was also taken out of Spanish. My son was put in the corner numerous times. I had to learn about this through my son as the school never told me.

They tried to scare us into believing CCSD would put my son into a special needs classroom. That never happened. Since my son left both of his new teachers said my son is a model student who has not displayed the behaviors they claimed. I thought by sending my son to a private school he wouldn’t get singled out. However he got bullied by staff.

Parents are expected to support fundraisers and buy stuff for the school on top of regular supplies. There is no transparency on who contributes what. They are rigid with rules such as not allowing drop off 2 minutes before 8:30am. It was okay for them to open the door 5 minutes late. If you want to drop off your child 15 minutes before school they will make you pay for it.

The school never discusses academic progress despite teachers demanding the same days off as CCSD. No parent/teacher conferences. Despite the small class size instructional time is limited.

Report cards do not share anything other than letter grades. The school is cliquey and the vibe is very odd. When my son was present for the death of a close family member they held it against him for perfect attendance. We pulled my son halfway through the year only to learn he was failing Kindergarten.

The favored students are sung praises to every Friday and paraded around. They kept giving my son an impossible goal to control his disability while the same kids won awards. Turnover of students was high. There were several families I would see one day who would disappear the next. The only time I heard about my son’s progress was when his teacher complained about his behavior in front of other parents.

The owner of the school is extremely unprofessional and cruel. She has no empathy for a parent trying to raise a child with multiple special needs. I would never recommend this school to anyone.

My Nephews attend this school. The individualized attention they receive has made such a difference in their ability to achieve milestone after milestone. Not just academically, but in all aspects of their development. This is an excellent educational environment for typical students as well as special needs students.

This is an excellent school. Small staff to student ratio. They are big on parental involvement, and host yearly events for parents to volunteer at and get to know each other. The staff is excellent at working one on one with the student even ones with special needs. Great at catering to special arrangements and other factors that can impact special needs students. All in all a excellent school. All four of my children have attended here. Two of them have moved on to magnet high schools. The other two are getting the same great instruction to prepare them to emerge on top of a faltering system as well. I feel this school has given my children the edge needed to excel.

Both of my kids attend WCEA and are thriving here. My daughter was in public schools, and my son has Asperger syndrome. This unique school has been showing and modeling how to get all types of students together... ADD, autism spectrum, you name it... and just any other ordinary student into one beautiful small sized school where everyone is accepted and gets equal, individual attention. It feels like family... What a wonderful atmosphere! All students love to learn thanks to the amazing teachers/leaders that form strong relationships with them. They're warm, accessible, enthusiastic and caring with years of experience. These teachers stay after school and make themselves available for the students and the parents who need them. They exhibit expertise in the subjects they are teaching and present material in an enthusiastic manner, instilling hunger in their students to learn more on their own; motivation. This top quality school has excellent discipline and classroom management techniques. You can definitely see the teachers' desire to make a difference and they succeed. We are so happy that we found WCEA. Coming from out of state and hearing of the struggles of the schools in Las Vegas, we were concerned about our special needs son schooling possibilities. WCEA welcomed our son and made a place for him. He is learning and enjoys the routine and the other students help him anytime they can. The typical students not only get a great individualized education, but they are also learning acceptance and tolerance with the special needs kids in their classes. Everyone helps out and they are like a family. We are thinking of enrolling our typical son next year as he is having some struggles and feel that WCEA might just be the place for him as well. You would be extremely lucky to have your child at WCEA whether they are special needs or typical or exceptional!

My son has been here for two years and we are thrilled to see him succeeding and thriving at school. The individual curriculum has helped him achieve his academic success, but the support of the teachers and other students is absolutely invaluable. We love West Charleston Enrichment Academy!

I have heard about this school from a family who has been having some issues with CCSD. Their child is doing so much better at this school. He has been much happier and they are satisfied with his attending. The staff respects them and involves the parents in every decision regarding progression!

This is the first year that my son is attending private school. I cannot believe that this deceision wasn't made earlier. I am so much happier and confident that my son will reach and surpass his IEP goals. He has been attending, making eye contact, learning to be more compliant and enjoying the other students as much as they enjoy him. The children are loving, respectful and a joy to be around. The staffing are understanding of SSB that may son may display and always welcoming to suggestions and advice. I appreciate this school and pray that they continue to thrive in success!

I have been attending this school for the first time this year. I have been reaching my goals on compliance, eye contact, patience and learning every day is a fresh start! I am much happier at this school. I smile more and have been less frustrated when asked to do a task. I love my friends and am very happy that they treat me like a friend and not a student diagnosed with Autism. I look forward to coming to school every day. I am respected, much calmer and most importantly loved at this new school!
