Parents be warned: this school is not designed for all gifted and creative children. My son, whose IQ is well above average, was beyond overwhelmed. The teachers are told to rush through lessons and get kids at least 2 to 3 grade levels ahead. They told us curriculum was based on each student’s needs and tailored to them. My son does not function well with rushing, I wanted to withdraw him halfway through but they keep you paying tuition for the entire year regardless of enrollment. He was compared to his peers and felt like a constant failure for not being as far ahead.

The founder, Bita Nasri designed this school to work for her children. Who are faced pace learners. Bita Nasri is the head of school and has no background in education- it’s the blind leading the blind. Hopefully she will make changes do that this becomes a school for all different types of gifted learners. Not a model based on how her 2 children learn. We won’t be returning this fall. My son had a stressful school year here. I gave 2 stars because they at least have outlets like robotics, music and art. But their

This school saved my son. They are welcoming and loving and my son thrived. I even volunteered as the PTA president and loved every minute of it. Cannot say enough great things about this school.

My daughter was also bullied at this school that she needed therapy. The bully IS THE OWNER’S SON and his group of friends. My daughter’s life was threatened by the owner’s son as well. We have recording and witnesses to this event. In consequence of the bullying, my daughter began to self soothe herself by excusing herself to bathroom where she began to talk about self harming because no one believed or helped her. One of the administrators told my daughter not to “ play the victim” and that she was the one “causing problems.” My daughter definitely did not bully nor definitely not threaten anyone’s life! The bullying was going on for a while and it wasn’t addressed in school except for blaming my daughter.
A classmate heard my daughter in bathroom talking about hurting herself and told administrators which was the right thing to do. But what the administration did to my daughter in response to this situation is not.
My husband and I were told to keep our daughter home for her safety and attain a letter from therapist saying she was not going to act of self harm to herself or others. This documentation was provided as well as a meeting occurred with therapist and administration where everything was revealed. Meanwhile my daughter is home, not allowed to attend school nor activities, again for her “ safety “ per school, but owner’s son remained in school and got to go to extracurricular activities. My daughter was soo excited to attend the Robotics LEGO meet where she was excelling the following weekend after she was threatened where SHE was told not to go but SON DID attend.
Nasri absolutely did not care for my child’s wellbeing mentally nor physically!
The administration’s words and actions towards my daughter show where there priorities/ loyalties are.
My daughter’s intelligence, awards and accomplishments were surpassing owner’s son and therefore, I 100% believe the owner did not like the “light” and/or “”attention” was being shown to my daughter as well and not ONLY her son.
The school is small minded and only good for the owner son and their tight community. They had a couple of great teachers but nothing is wort paying to have your child's soul crushed.

My daughter was so bullied at this school that she needed therapy. The bully was the owners son and his group of friends. She was gaslit about reality where she was told experiences and places she visited weren't real even when she proved to the kids they were. It was small minded and only good for the owner son and their tight community. It was the most unwelcoming pta I have ever been at. I have three kids and multiple ptas and nothing was xenophobic as this was.

They had great teachers but nothing is wort paying to have your your child's soul crushed.

This school saved my son. The administration is amazing and the teachers are wonderful. They are committed and devoted to the children and I recommend this school 100%. The school is in its fourth year and yes it had to work out some kinks. We stuck through it and now they have their own school building and it's amazing!!

We have had a 5 star experience. Our daughter has been going to Nasri for two years now. Prior to Nasri Academy, she had been to five schools, both Magnet and Private. We worked with each of the five schools with regular meetings. Some of the meetings were initiated by us and some were initiated by the school. Our daughter was bored out of her mind at the other schools and disrupting the class because of it. We thought there was something wrong with our daughter until we found Nasri. Our whole family's lives are happier and better because we found this school. If you have a highly or profoundly gifted child and have had issues with other schools, you should talk to the school and set up a shadow day.

Homework given at the school is both at an appropriate level and in an appropriate quantity. We have had challenges with homework at other schools just being busywork but that's not a problem at Nasri. Also, because of the busywork nature, we have had problems with our daughter not turning in homework in the past. Old habits die hard. Our daughter has occasionally had issues with not turning in homework at Nasri. Refreshingly, instead of finding out at parent teacher conferences a month later, we receive emails or notes from her teachers at Nasri if homework has not been turned in on-time, usually within a day or two. Because of the diligence of the teachers, and the appropriate homework, our daughter no longer has issues with missing homework.

The teacher selection at Nasri is exceptional. They thoroughly vet the teachers to ensure that they have the ability to connect with students and meet the unique challenges of teaching highly gifted students. The teachers are open to communicating and adjusting their curriculum to continually challenge our daughter. Before coming to this school, we had serious issues with getting our daughter engaged in math. Within 6 months of being at Nasri Academy, our daughter advanced through almost two years of curriculum and was excited about math! Thank you Nasri Academy!

The school takes character development more seriously than any other school we've been to. The teachers and administrators intervene with minor issues and help the students to resolve the issues on their own before issues have a chance to escalate.

Posted: January 9, 2019

The school leadership is proactive in making sure each students experience is the best it can be. The school has been receptive to our questions, concerns, and suggestions regarding our child and has always taken action on anything that we have brought up.

Posted: January 9, 2019

This is the foundation of the school. Our experience has been excellent and they have consistently risen to the challenge teaching our daughter. They are adaptive of the difficulty of the curriculum and how they teach the curriculum to make it fun and keep our daughter interested and engaged.

Same comment as Character. The school takes bullying more seriously than any other school we've been to. The teachers and administrators intervene with minor issues and help the students to resolve the issues on their own before issues have a chance to escalate.

Nasri has proven to be best learning environment for our super-smart, yet socially awkward, grandson. He is so happy there, has become very self-assured, polite, organized, and seems to finally have found an atmosphere where he loves to learn.

Homework has mostly been completing assignments that were not finished during classroom time. The individualized learning and low student/teacher ratio helps them accomplish a lot during the school day so they are not overburdened with home work.

Posted: November 8, 2017

Smart, caring, patient teachers with low student/teacher ratio and lots of individual attention. All grades have different teachers for each subject (like middle school/high school).

Posted: November 8, 2017

Every week there is a focus on a specific social/emotional topic such as cultural diversity, respect, strength of character, listening skills, positive attitude, etc.

Posted: November 8, 2017

I really can't imagine a better learning environment for our son. The teachers and administration are caring and dedicated to the individual needs of each student and go above and beyond to help them reach their best potential academically and personally.
