As a former student, I'm extremely disappointed with this school. Don't bother telling the SSC your complaints. They just give you a piece of paper and tell you to write a report on it. The curriculum feels outdated, and there's very little academic support for students who are struggling or advanced. The new tardy bell system gets out of hand and whoever's late for class gets an after-school detention even if it's to get a new lanyard or ID or make a report.
Worse, there's a serious lack of discipline and structure. Bullying is an ongoing issue, and despite multiple reports, nothing meaningful seems to be done. Teachers appear overwhelmed, under-supported, and many seem burnt out. Fights happen weekly and there's even social media accounts by students who post the fights. If your child gets in a fight, don't be surprised to see them on Instagram.
The campus also feels poorly maintained. Many bathroom stalls have uneven doors which either is too large to close or too small to where there is a clear gap.
Middle school can be a tough time for kids, but this school is doing little to make it a positive experience. I would not recommend sending your child here.

this is my first year at greenspun, i thought this school would be safe and nice and thought this school would have no fights, but i dont recommend this school because their is a lot of people who want to fight and be racist. And i cant ever avoid them so i dont recommend this school because they have bad service on teaching and, the science teacher is mean and scary and i dont want to put out her name but she is rude. But everday there is so many fights that you can't escape from them because you get pushed and shoved. So this is the WORST SCHOOL IN NEVADA. This is not a good school a lot of students are racist and it is not funny and staff does not help you with emotional support, my consuler didnt want me to switch class. with a bad teacher that treated me bad. I would go to a different school next year. Please dont go to this school please it will be harsh year and your worst mistake.

Out of the many schools I have gone to, this is the worst. You cant avoid fights or problems with other students at any school but here it is unavoidable no matter what. Bullies and racism are a huge problem as well. Compared to my last middle school, this school is behind in education like math and science. There are some good teachers but with students pushing teachers limits there might not be any left. Getting made fun of is also a fairly bad problem. It can happen by the people you hang out with and small things you do like eat and walk. If you are looking for a decent public middle school, look elsewhere.

Wrote this as a senior in high school. The school itself is fine, just what you'd expect from any other middle school. Fights are unavoidable in any school, and there are honestly large class sizes, which means plenty of room to socialize, but not much individual time to work outside of afterschool tutoring lessons. If I was able to take advantage of one this this school offered that not many other middle schools have is their Winterguard/Colorguard group. As for myself, I joined my high school's Colorguard group during sophomore year, and it allowed for me to compete locally against other schools. If you don't know, Colorguard is a group that focuses on dance, movement, and a lot of physical activity throughout a show with music accompaniment. There are roughly only 2 other middle schools that I've seen compete against Greenspun JHS, of which, Greenspun has preformed above and beyond. It truly is a new experience that I would recommend trying even if you aren't comfortable with sports. You do need to compete in front of other people.

I like this school a lot. This school is very good and it makes learning easier and better. I would give Greenspun an 8/10 (4/5) because it has some occasional flaws. For one thing, some people make me feel like I do not matter or am useless. The main problem is bullying from students who like to make people feel horrible. On a positive note, one thing is many teachers are funny and are supportive when you do not understand something.

Overall, I would defiantly recommend Greenspun. All of the programs we have are open to students and are free to join with support. I've never seen bullying, and most people are kind to other people. For example, my friend was having a bad day and some random people asked what they needed to do. The staff are also nice and still try to do their job. I don't agree with some of the things the teachers say, yet they make up for it with their kindness. Most people hate the lanyard rule, but it's for your safety and most schools have to do it, anyways.
Clubs and programs are very enjoyable and motivate kids to join. For instance, Orchestra, Choir, and Band get to go to Disneyland, and this year Yearbook got to go to Dave and Buster's. The teachers are super helpful if you don't understand something, and take their time to get it right. I would recommend this school.

1500 students, three grade levels, ONE START/ STOP TIME.
I dont even know what to say. The disaster I experienced today trying to drop off and pick up has left me in complete awe. My thought is Theres NO way this is possible? At the orientation I noticed several banners dating back to 1990s this indicates to me the schools has been actively operations for years now.
And you guys are teaching our children??
The traffic situation caused by your school was in NO WAY okay it was a complete disaster.
8/9/2021 - I AM PUTTING YOU ON NOTICE NOW:
If there are accidents, confrontations or delays of first responders causing injury or property damage your district IS complicit AND negligent for allowing this to occur.

I think they try to help the kids develop but the problem is a bunch of kids come into school without having been taught these traits at home and the teachers have too many kids to try to teach those attributes now to a few.

My child has ADHD but we don't allow her to use it as a crutch so I don't know how the support is for those students who have different issues.

My experience has been great at this school. It is what you make of it and if I need something done I'm in the office or emailing or calling whoever I need to in order to get my issue taken care of. I am not the "not my kid" type mom. We've been very happy here despite the few kids who can't control themselves.

This is one of the best schools I have ever been to. The school has amazing teachers and everyone is so kind here. I am a 7th grader here and in the orchestra program. This school is amazing and want everyone to go here. I have had no experiences with bullying and never have seen bullying. The clubs are fun and intersting and I can't wait to see anyone new.

I went to Greenspun for all three years and now I'm in high school. They have an amazing music program and the best choir program ever! Some of the teachers can be a little difficult to deal with. But, personally, I had a pretty good experience there. Dolphins for life ^.^

The teachers and administration does not follow CCSD policies. These policies are put into place to protect our children. I am very disappointed in how this school is being ran!

I am disappointed in the education my children are receiving this year. The administration is new and not up to date on the procedures of CCSD. With the common core all the teachers are on different pages. The students are the priority.

Love this school! The teachers and administration are top notch. The kids are very helpful. My son came from a school where bullying was a big problem. Greenspun also has a strict anti bullying policy.

My daughter is a 7th grader at Greenspun and based on the two years she has been here, I can quite honestly say, I am very disappointed with the staff and teachers. My child struggles with Math and does well in her other classes but trying to get her teachers to respond to my emails or get help from them about anything is nearly impossible. I have sent emails, at one point scheduled a meetings just to get their attention and only 3 teachers out of 6 showed. No sorry, no apology, simply, "they couldn't make it." I have given up on Greenspun's teachers for any help or reach-out. I am now in the process of hiring a private company to help my child with her needs. Regardless of the matter, teachers should be communicating with parents and it should not be this difficult. They also do not have many options when it comes to extra circular activities. Very limited options, which also is a bummer! Other than the teachers being very unhelpful, my daughter loves it. Of course, a teen does not care about these issues. In fact, that makes them a cool teacher. The less they care, the cooler they are to the student. Pretty sad.

Greenspun has a wonderful summer transition program for incoming 6th graders. Two of my three daughters have attended and the third is looking forward to attending this summer. It is a fun program that allowed my girls to start the junior high school experience happy and confident.

As a former student of this school, I will try my best to just state my opinion and not be biased. Anyway, after moving to Henderson from a different state, I can honestly say my sister and I got very lucky to go to this school. It has a positive, cheery environment that students love. The way it's set up makes it not confusing, and it's relatively easy to get used to this school, if you're new. And the music programs are spectacular! The caveat? The low test scores and poor teaching. It's considered an "easy" school with very little responsibility and work--your kid would love that, but as a parent who wants the best for your kid, you would not! It's okay for grade level kids, but for accelerated kids (like me), it's just not challenging enough for us and we fall behind. In the end, my sister and I moved to Miller, another CCSD school *sob.* The education and test scores there are outstanding; it's a great place for accelerated students who need an advanced, rigorous curriculum. But I prefer Greenspun because of its environment. Greenspun, you'll remain in my heart forever!

i'm a 7th grader now and to me this school is a great school it is easy to get to each and ever class the campus is beatyful the teachers are nice some times. but besides that i thing with alittle improvment green spun can be a very good school

The administrators at this school are not very friendly at all!!! If your child comes home from school and says he or she has been picked on, YANK your child out right away!!!! My child was hit on, constantly picked on, and NOTHING was done about it!!!!! The Dean took the incident report that my child wrote complaining about the bullying incident, and THREW IT AWAY. The Principal and Ass't Principal backed her up, and I IMMEDIATELY took my child OUT OF THAT SCHOOL!!!!
