Hello i would like to share about my experience with this school(from last year n this semester). To start off The teachers are meh, some are good some don't really do there job. SOME Students are rude, fighting, unnecessary beef, and using vapes ( rare). This school doesn't care about education and safety for other students sadly. And if your class was misbehaving they wouldn't even do anything to stop it misbehaving! If you want a good school for your child then please don't choose this one! There's way more better opinion anyways lol

.Hello, i'm going to tell you my opinion of this school from the point of view of someone who used to be a student at Clayton. (i'm now a freshman). Clayton may be one of the worst schools i've ever attended. I've moved around so ive been to many different schools, none of them would even compare to the absoloute catastrophe that is Clayton. One of my biggest issues is that nobody really seems to care about education. Neither students or teachers put in any effort whatsoever. I think a big reason students dont bother to do anything is because teachers dont care enough to motivate, or at the very least even teach their students. Many of the teachers are also SO hostile to anybody who asks questions and also dont care enough to help kids that are struggling more than others. Teachers are also not at all accommodating to students who have outside issues that prevent them from being able to put in their best effort, especially for special needs kids. Another issue at Clayton is that students are extremely violent, rude, and lack respect for other people. Your student is most likely to get bullied, and if they're not then they'll join the bullying. Drug usage and peer pressure is also very common here. Overall, this school is horrible, and this is the last place I would consider sending my child to.

very bad, lots of fights, plenty of substance use, not great teaching methods, slow and hard to get around school, bathrooms suck, and you get 3 passes to go to the bathroom a week. bullying is sure a issue, and all this is said from a student attending this school currently. this school sucks. please dont come here, unless you want your child to be dumbed down, this is NOT a AP academy!

I don't even know where to begin to affectively discourage anyone from sending their child to this school. The culture needs a complete and total overhaul. The administration is AWFUL - non-supportive, uncaring and disengaged. The environment is one of violence and filthy disrespect and it will make your child a product of it. The principal, assistant principal and especially the counselors NEVER return calls or emails and couldn't care less about the success of your child. Teachers don't respond to your attempts to follow up on your child's progress. You aren't even allowed, let alone invited to view the classrooms during Back to School night. There are no parent teacher conferences and you better be wiling to FIGHT for a meeting with the school to set up any accommodations for an IEP or 504 plan. I would like to give praise to Alexandra Pereyr and Mr. Fisher for showing kindness and actually caring for their students. I hope they find a better place to teach..

Our experience with Clayton Middle School has been mixed. The teachers are generally caring, compassionate, and eager to teach the students. The issue this year seems to be the attitude of the students, which is causing major teacher burnout. Student behaviors and attitudes are egregious. The lack of respect for teachers and other students is appalling. Rampant swearing and bullying. The teachers try to corral it, only to be met with the same hostility. Teachers do seem to be intimidated by the students. Teachers have quit this year due to the student behavior, which only compounds the issue of lack of qualified teachers. Both my kids have had a teacher cry in class. I don't know if it's the way kids are now, or if this school just has an abundance of students with disciplinary issues. The school is also over capacity for the amount of students allotted. There are only 2 counselors for the 700+ students, so seeing the counselor can be a challenge. Again, staffing issues. I will say, the counselors are great, and really do try to accommodate the students. One of my kids is in the MAGNET program, and the teachers for that program foster an environment of respect and camaraderie, and make learning fun and enriching. My other child is in standard program, and unfortunately doesn't get the same type of attention. The teachers spend a lot of class time correcting bad behavior, so it becomes challenging. A couple of gripes is that most teachers don't respond to emails, and not all classwork is on TEAMS. So if you miss a few days, not all teachers respond the same way for make up work. There's no consistency. Overall, the teachers are good, but student behavior almost negates it. Hopefully this changes in the future. My kids like the teachers and the course work, but they don't like the bullying and student behavior. If your kids have social anxiety, this school my increase those feelings.

Hi Im a student here and would like to respectfully discuss my opinions of this school. This school used to be one of the best but now even the teachers are afraid of coming to work. Fights occur frequently and bullying happens often, doors have to be locked. Honestly the teachers are semi-nice but some are rude overall Clayton is a meh school but what we could do to save this school is to teach OUR children to behave I have seen so many children cuss out and even back talk to teachers so what I say to parents is to please teach your kids some basic human respect itll do all of us (teachers students ect) a favor. In conclusion this school is okay but the students are the problem

hello! I'm currently a student of archie clayton middle school. I would like to respectfully talk about a actual students point of view instead of what adults and parents believe :) clayton is a alright school I may say at the least. but the school doesn't exactly contribute to Fairness. students often get rumors spread about them. Bullying happens often! and fights occur at random! and I just think the school has a lot of things that worry me about the safety and fairness. teachers do their best at teaching and it is quite affective! but their is moments were teachers act irrational and rude and unreasonable!!
its a serious problem were when a student isn't paying attention and the teacher calls on them to embarrass them when they don't understand the assignment at hand. Instead of being a reasonable adult and simply telling them to please pay attention. they CHOSE to be immature and cause problems. also often counselors don't listen to what the child needs and wants adults to understand. they simply turn a blind eye and believe they know better from there own experiences instead of realizing that not everyone is the same and people have different needs than your own experiences! and I've talked to Many students about the problems with this school and they have all agreed. honestly its an alright school academics are high and students learn a lot! and I'm very grateful to be here besides its problems! I recommend this school :)

This is very good school, overall. I have had three kids either go through or still in the school, and they are learning a great deal, even if they don't always like it, and end up well prepared for high school. The leadership team takes great pride in producing great students, they have an excellent band and orchestra, and their is a high level of parent participation at events and activities.

I fine that a school with this high a rate of suspension for all students not white is having problems with the leadership. I have had bad reports of how students are treated but didn't believe it until I took a look at the stats on this page. THIS IS RIDICULOUS I will be homeschooling this year! Good luck keeping your school all white!

Okay, I have been going to this for all three years, (6,7,8) and I've got to say it's been pretty... Average. I loved my teachers and they taught me a lot, but there are certain teachers who are very biased. I'm not just trying to say this because I was a student here, but some teachers are more based on 'favorites'. You would be dress coded by them for wearing a jacket in the middle of winter, while other kids would be allowed to keep a jacket on! Specifically my English teacher had probably been the worst teacher I ever had. I now have a new English teacher in high school who has helped me with everything I DIDNT LEARN. My teacher at clayton would give us assignments on what she never taught us, she would yell at kidswho were doing nothing wrong! I have talked to all my classmates about the issue, and they all agreed. It probably seems like I'm exaggerating, but I swear on anything it's true. Besides my god awful English teacher my other teachers were great, I especially loved my math teacher who has helped the class so much! She treats us as if we are equals. It can be really hard sometimes, but she always helps us through it! That's about it, sorry for my rant.

Top leadership! Top teachers! GT Magnet ROCKS! Bruce Meissner has raised the bar at Clayton. My student participates in the GT (GATE, Accelerated Learner) magnet program. It is outstanding because of the teaching quality. Best quote of the year: "Mom, I'm actually good at Math." (thanx Ms. Jenny Salls) from my daughter that hated it all through elementary. She transferred in from another school zone to attend the GT magnet and it was the best decision. Her self-confidence has soared. Yes, the school appearance isn't sparkly and new like others in the district but the heart is solid 24k gold. Go Buffalos!

After having spent time/gas and money to take my grandson $ to buy a Clayton School sweatshirt the staff in the office was very helpful and promised me that my grandson would be told that his order had been placed by his grandma (nani) and that the "cash" insisted upon would be given along with the order form to the teacher in charge of this particular project. Come to find out my grandson was NEVER TOLD THAT I PD FOR HIS SWEATSHIRT & the order had been placed 3 days before it was due!! This school leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to cash only projects! good thing I insisted on a receipt!!
