Galena is chill, great teachers. After covid everyone uses technology, administration is really nice, students are friendly and inclusive. Many different programs to enroll in.l 10/10

This school is terrible! So many things have happened, and barely a phone call home about whats going on with your child. If they are tardy, however, youll get phone calls, and emails all day! Kids that cause problems dont get suspended, barely a slap on the wrist for doing things that could put an adult in jail. Nevada schools are the lowest rated in our country, and sadly, our family has experienced why! HOMESCHOOL, or pray you get into a charter or private school!!

Moving our kid to Damonte Ranch was the best decision we could have made. The staff is overwhelmed. There is a large amount of profiling with kids experienced by other parents and kids. Being zoned for this school was disappointing but luckily we were able to get into Damonte.

The school is extremely under staffed going into 20-21 school year. With the boom of CA people moving to South Reno, and rezoning, the school is packed as are ALL high schools in Reno. You have many teachers teaching their opinions politically, nobody checking revealing clothing, etc.. It is one of the better high schools in Washoe County but it is public, and NV schools are ranked pretty low.

My kids just started a Galena and they are treated as outsiders right from the start. This is from students as well as teachers and administrators. The school has no computers and does not use technology at all. My son was given 5 tardies in 1 week because he is new and does not know his way around. One of the teachers watches him when he is lost and waits till he is tardy to send him to the office instead of helping him. This place is hell on earth.

With my time being at Galena, it has honestly been a great experience. The teachers are extremely helpful and actually care about their students' success. It is very safe since it is separated from most other places . The sports teams are awesome; some of them are undefeated. From the 4 years that I attended, I found myself to be connecting with the learning material and not just focused on getting out. I highly recommend going to Galena - they have the best scores in the county and the environment is inspiring.

I am a junior at Galena and it is honestly the best school in northern Nevada. Galena is the highest test scoring school because the teachers truly want you to succeed. It has some f the best sports teams and some have been undefeated for more than four years. I really recommend this school for anyone that wants to learn about engineering, architecture, or culinary because there are so many programs available.

STEM Academy offers students great engineering opportunities. Teachers are very helpful and communicate well w students and parents re: expectations.The student body is very active. Students are encouraged to join the Riot Squad so they have fun at football and other sport games. Loads of opportunites w clubs, sports and all level classes. We transferred within District and are very happy at GHS.
