I should write about what the nurse and counselor did to my daughter. SUPERINTENDENT Banning myself and her dad on campus for protecting our daughter. Superintendent was no help, she took principal's side because she is now part of the superintendent admin. When asked about following the student handbook with FALSE accusations, I was dismissed. I wish I can write the names of the girls that BULLIED my daughter. This entire admin is a joke. I'm not the only parent that's had a problem with a counselor. I'm the only parent that was willing to say something. I can't wait to see them around tho, now that we don't go here. Keep the same energy guys. GROW UP like the nurse yelled at me.
We will never speak highly of this school.

This is hands down the best school and community in Las Vegas! Of course it is not perfect, and I don’t know anything that is.
The staff cares about not just the kids but their families as well in every way possible. By the time the kids graduate from 8th grade and move onto high school, they are so mature mentally and emotionally. I cannot picture our children being anywhere else.

This is an amazing school and I am so sad to read some of these negative reviews with such misinformation. Most of the teachers have been here for many years because they love it so much. Two teachers did leave last year because they retired after 39 and 27 years respectively. In my experience the teachers are caring and thoughtful. They do their best to always help the students succeed. During these COVID times the school has been able to remain open by limiting enrollment to keep up with social distancing guidelines. I have been thrilled that my children are getting a wonderful in person education in a safe environment. The curriculum is rigorous and proved beneficial when one of my kids moved on to high school. They were more than prepared. It is a private school so you do pay a tuition to attend which is very reasonable compared to what you receive and to what else if offered in the valley. I can say with confidence my children are better for being a part of this wonderful community.

They are the only Catholic school in the valley that has a program to help those with ADHD, Down's syndrome, as well as other learning issues the students may have.

I have been involved with the St. Viator Community for over 20 years. There were only two teachers that left this year. One retired after 29 years and the other retired after 30 years. Two other teachers were laid off due to COVID-19 protocols which forced the school to limit the number of students in order to reopen with students on campus. The staff and faculty, principal and pastor have done a fantastic job during this crazy time. The top priority is teacher and keeping their students safe. Thank you to all of our wonderful school community!

The office staffs running this school have a poor attitude, do not care about the families, and don’t waste your time. Pre-K, 2nd, 5th and 6th grade teachers are remarkable. I have not experience the other teachers, so I cannot give my opinion about them. The administration does not reflect Catholic belief; they pray to the dollar. From experience, the school is run by cold-blooded, merciless, heartless people who only care about money. Teachers have left or been laid-off. Many families have removed there children, when we started at this school the student count was over 600 children and had 2 class rooms for each grade, last I heard 2020-21 school year is around 220 and now have drop to 1 class room for each grade or sharing rooms with 2 different grades taught by 1 teacher. Very sad, great facility controlled by unhappy people. So much drama and gossip. The principal, bookkeeper, and the office staff there are depressed and miserable, and full of negative energy. The principal has no business running any school; maybe the board of directors, Church priest and the Catholic Diocese will step in and fix this particular challenging situation.

St. Viator is the only Catholic School in the valley that has an extensive program geared toward helping students with learning challenges, including learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, Down Syndrome and behavioral issues.

Any issues that may arise with children not getting along, etc. are dealt with as soon as they arise. Any issues of a serious nature are immediately reported to the diocese and the parents of the students involved.

The Homework system is very consistent and family friendly, as it is the same throughout K-3 grades and 4th and 5th grades. In the lower grades there is a Homework Assignment Sheet used and in 4th and 5th grades the teachers also use a similar type of homework communication. In Jr. High the teachers, with the help of the principal, are cognizant of the amount of homework assigned per night so that there is never an overload of homework on any given night.

What's sad about this school is that there are so many bullies. This is NOT A SAFE PLACE to send children to middle school especially during transition from elementary to middle school where several changes and challenges occur among students during these years. There are so many kids here who are rude, show off, and bullies.

There are so many kids here who are rude, show off, and bullies. And I see some parents who are the same, no wonder their kids act this way. So many issues in terms of honesty, integrity, and fairness among its students. So sad.

I went to st viator school 4-8 grade. I disliked this school very much. The curriculum is horrible. 4 & 5 grade were good and my teachers taught everything in an easy way. Once I moved up to middle school the teachers seemed unamused and just like they didn't care about the students. The math teacher should not be the math teacher. Half of the class failed when there were tests and she expected us to know all the information before she taught us what we needed to know. Once I failed my test and she told me I should have properly prepare. I asked her questions and she did not care to explain the information to me. The office staff is rude and they treat the students and parents poorly. There is also no security on the campus. The school has made it so that you have to sit out in the courtyard before school. This is unsafe and they should just let the students sit inside the gate before school.

Only 8 out of the 22 staff members possess VALID Teaching Licenses in Nevada, and the principal doesn't even have an administrator's license. She states on their website, "All of our teachers are degreed and certified in their field and many members have Master Degrees and Catechist Certification." This just isn't the truth.

This year we moved our children to a charter school where all teachers are licensed. Our children will receive Religious Education at Viator's Parish, where we remain parishioners. We feel they know more about God than education at this point.

My kids have been at St. Viator for several years & have only had one teacher I didn't agree with. If you belong to the Parish & are involved then you might have a greater appreciation for the school. Some reviews are old ( 9 years ago.. times have changed). There are going to be cliques wherever you go. There are security gates around the campus & you have to get buzzed in the office via a camera intercom system. The gates are locked after school & you need to use the intercom to get your kids from aftercare. There are single parents, divorced parents, all ethnic backgrounds.... I feel everyone is treated the same. The kids are well mannered and classroom sizes are larger than I would like but there are 2 teachers in the classroom. My youngest child's class size is much smaller than my oldest's class. I have a family member who is the same age as my youngest (they go to public school) and St Viator is more advanced from what I can see. Get involved & volunteer so you can see what the environment is like, even if it is 1 day a month. All volunteers get fingerprinted & background checks done. If you are not happy at the school then find a better fit. Being positive goes a long way!

I went to this school almost 9 years ago. After graduating from here (after Pre-k-8) and going to a public hs I realized how far behind I had gotten. I had almost no algebra skills when I graduated. My parents were getting divorced when I was there in middle school and I was treated differently by teachers, parents, and other students. Another parent actually called my mom several explicit names for getting a divorce. I remember being treated like the "other" because my father was a mechanic and not wealthy. If you are looking to get your child a good education on catholic doctrine, that is one thing this school can accomplish. Nothing was ever explicitly said against homosexuality, however it took me years to recover and accept myself and rid of the shame I felt. Bullying is characteristic of many of the children at the school. I remember the uniform being changed arbitrarily by the administration several times, which was a real struggle for my family considering how very expensive they are. If you are looking to get your child a good education, I would suggest other schools. Checkout some of the magnet schools in the area.

I agree with all the opinions listed. The school seems to be unsafe, no security just over acting prima-donna volunteer moms even if there were incidents of break-ins and hobos coming into the school. Teachers in elementary grades 1- 4 are great and helpful however, junior high teachers are rude and unprofessional. Junior high teachers think they know it all when the fact, their methodology in teaching is very antediluvian. Teachers like: LH, KF and KT are wiseacre, impudent and are procrastinators in updating your child s grades.

Girls are harassed by boys and vise versa, the school does nothing to keep us safe, they actually pretend it does't happen. Please ask your kids if they the like environment, if they do, then your at the right place. If they don't, listen to them and find a school that fits their strengths. Keep communication up with your children, explain what it means to bully kids and to stand up for those that can't stand up for themselves. I know many kids that have left, and they are behind in core subjects,at pub/private schools. Kindergarten is amazing, after that, reevaluate what is best for your child. Not sure how this school has 3 stars, what I have read, they should be negative a star or two. No security on campus, the kids run wild when the bell rings, and if you pick up your child from an after school activity, kids are just roaming around unsupervised, gates are open and office closes at 4pm. Parents gossip about each other, school, kids and what they don't like, but don't have the moral compass to speak up when it matters. Attend a PTO meeting, if you have a concern, your shut down before it can be addressed. Talk to your kids and together decide what school will fit their goals.

This is a wonderful school! The curriculum includes math, science, reading writing, social studies, science, religion, Spanish, music, art, PE. The school offers many team sports and extra activities. The course work is one to two years ahead of Vegas public schools. Another plus is the children are very well behaved so the classroom has minium distractions. Teachers are not dealing with behavioral problems all day so they can focus on teaching! There is absolutely NO comparison to public schools! Even the schools in Antheim are Clark County schools! They follow same laws and procedures as all other public schools in town , have the same under qualified teachers, same curriculum to follow, same politics! Las Vegas schools are the WORST in the country so even if you are at one of the so called better schools it is still the best if the worst!!! Parents need to stop kidding themselves into thinking that because a school is in Antheim it's better, by the way many kids from Antheim go the St. Viator!!!

We moved to Las Vegas in July 2012 from out of state where our children attended a Christian school where Christian values were taught by example and through curriculum. We looked at the St. Viator website where the mission statement reads: " St. Viator School provides a quality Catholic education where the gospel message of Jesus Christ is lived, learned and shared in a safe learning environment. The administrations, faculty, staff, students, parents, clergy, and parish community collaborate to develop the whole person spiritually, morally, academically and physically." This is not the case! The teachers are mean-spirited and are not Christian examples for our children. The classes are too crowded, and the so-called administration (where was the principal all day?) lacked effective leadership. My 7th grader was frustrated each day with how negative and nasty most of the teachers were and how ineffective their teaching was. My 1st grader's teacher-bless her soul did the best she could with 36 students in a portable. Is this what we are paying for? My children will be attending another more expensive fath-based private school next year, I would suggest you keep looking as well.

I attended this school for 7 years, and it did not feel like a catholic school. There is no security at this school, which is very irresponsible because there are homeless people surrounding the school and the church from sunrise to sunset. We have to stand in line and be totally silent from the classroom to the lunch room and cannot talk at our lockers or anywhere. Sometimes they prohibited talking even at lunch, and made us sit in alphabetical order. Children from wealthy parents receive special treatment from the teachers and administration. Parents are very cliquish. Middle class people usually are left behind. They banned sharpies because people were getting "high" off them. Sometimes this school felt more like prison than a school. I'm happy I left this school and went to a public school.

When choosing a school, you need to do your research. Talk to other parents, students, and faculty. It is very sad to hear that when parents have issues or concerns, their concerns are not addressed. If there is an issue, and administration does not address it, then it never happened. The office staff is very nice when you don't have any concerns, once you ask a question they don't want to answer, they will tell you what they feel YOU want to hear. I had a friend who taught at this school about 20 years ago, the standards are not as reputable as it was back then. If you have an opinion different from the administration, they will tell you its your choice to leave, and inform you they have a waiting list. Based on reviews from a few years back, there seems to be a pattern. In closing, do your own research, ask to have your child shadow for the day, ask to drop in during school hours to observe and decide if the atmosphere would fit your child.

Kindergarten and pre-k is a great program with caring, loving and respectful teachers. This was a great experience and would give 5 stars if I could. Once you get to 1st through 5th, the teachers seem to care about education and the children, but administration does not seem to share the same level of respect. In junior high, the children are suppose to be role models for the younger children, and treat everyone with respect. If administration would lead by example, I think the children would show more respect for themselves and others.

We have been at this school for a couple of years. Its so sad to see the way the office secretary treats parents and students,very disrepectfully. I thought they would treat my kids as if they were their own,they dont.Its so sad but now I have to take my child out because I refuse to let my child be treated poorly at school.Its a shame because they dont exhibit Christian behavior.We donated & volunteered but I guess it wasnt enough. Think before you put your kids here.People are very clickish!
