I currently have 3 children enrolled in MVA and am wholly satisfied with our experience. My husband and all of his siblings were diagnosed with some degree of dyslexia and consequently had many obstacles to overcome in their learning careers so we were naturally concerned for our children and have tried to keep learning a positive experience for them. Montessori Visions Academy fit the bill for that purpose. My two older children were reading confidently at or before 4 years of age. They understand and can preform abstract math and confidently meet new challenges. But more than that, they are curious about the world and make new connections everyday to things I know I have never addressed with them personally but that they have been exposed to through the curriculum at MVA. The staff and administration are always caring and concerned and our family feels nothing but love from them.

The Montessori method specifically does not utilize homework as traditional public school does but Montessori Visions Academy provides supplemental work for families who would like to continue the leaning process at home together.

Teachers in each classroom have received specific Montessori training and have extensive experience working with children and creating individual learning plans for each child in the classroom specific to their needs so that everyday is a personalized, positive learning experience for each child.

MVA is top notch to our family. Id like to say thank you to all of you for all of your hard work and dedication to all the amazing children and families. You all go above and beyond and we as a family of Montessori could not be more grateful! You are all awesome and exude patience, joy and light to all of our children. I just wanted to say thank you as I have witnessed amazing team work throughout our journey so far here at what Id like to refer to as our new home away from home! My son who recently graduated from high school attended this school from approximately 2003-2008 and the foundation of learning he acquired while at this school is beyond measure. Our daughter is a new student here at Montessori, she began at the beginning of this school year (2018-2019) and she is in 5th grade. She has excelled in ALL subjects since attending MVA. Not only are her academics better than ever before but her confidence, her independence and her overall demeanor has changed in so many positive ways...we feel as though our daughter has ALWAYS attended this school and she is most definitely treated as such by all faculty and students. We feel as though MVA is an extension to our family. As she recently told me "Mom, I feel like all my teachers and classmates are family". Thank you ALL again for your dedication and passion to take our children to new heights!

With the student teacher ratio they have, the students get more one on one. The mentoring within the classrooms is an incredible experience. My son is learning things that are above his level and helping younger students with things he has learned. Just another way for them to really learn what they are being taught.

They are teaching children to respect each other, be compassionate about others, make the right decisions, and be independent thinkers and doers. Making their own day planners has helped my son to be more organized and self efficient. He also deals with issues in a different manner because of the patience and communication skills they teach.

The amount of bullying here is zero compared to a public school. They love for one another through out the entire school is amazing. It is more like a family than a school.

My son spent his 1st grade year at a public school and it was the worst year. Since becoming a part of this Montessori community he has more friends than I thought he would have (in the public system), he has far passed any expectations of learning I thought he would have at this point in his education. The kids, teachers, and parents are more welcoming.

Our child has been enrolled in the school for 4 years now. We are very happy with the Montessori method, the freedom the children have in their day to day life, the feeling of trust and love they receive on a daily basis is priceless. The school aims to strengthen the community with special events, PTO activities, allowing parents to volunteer and be part of the school is always encouraged. The school aims for good students to teachers ratio, we always felt heard and felt very comfortable saying what bothered us or if we wanted to make a suggestion. The After school program allowed my child to participate in classes without me needing to drive her to different places after school.

My daughter has been at Montessori Visions Academy for four years now. I was instantly drawn to the care and compassion that her teacher gave her. I am continuously impressed by what my daughter has learned and how it has been taught. She has learned to validate herself instead of getting it from outside sources. She has learned to manage time and herself at such a young age. The ability to direct herself (with guidance) has taught her more than she will ever learn in a traditional school setting. When she first arrived, she was frustrated and could not focus. She is now happy, confidant, motivated and cheerful. She has thrived in this environment and loves it when she gets to do her work outside with friends.

Wow! Montessori Visions has been SUCH a good choice for our family! Our daughter has developed so many skills, including a second language, strong math skills, and a better sense of who she is and what her unique talents are. She's a very active learner, and the teachers have worked very hard to create a learning atmosphere that is scaffolded in such a way that she can learn by touching and doing things hands on why still being respectful to other students. We love this school and the teachers!

My son attended primary school for 2 years and loved it! The teachers are amazing and the curriculum is great! My son's vocabulary really blossomed after he started! I love the self lead daily curriculum. My son was able to choose the "jobs" he was interested in each day within the curriculum and that makes a difference in the child's love for learning! I also love that they focus on the bigger picture. Teaching them to be responsible for their choices and actions as well as their environment and the world around. They learn that life is more than just school books and work. My son's favorite specials were gardening and yoga, he loved being able to do these specials with his friends. I feel my son had a great start to his education by starting with the Montessori way. He's now in traditional schooling and still talks about his love for his Montessori school, teachers, and friends.

My son has been going here for 7 years and his math and language skills are through the roof (at least three years ahead of most children his age)! More importantly though, he is learning to be self-directed, self-motivated, to make good choices, to manage his time and to accept responsibility for his choices. I also love that the Montessori Philosophy teaches them conflict resolution skills. You get far more than the traditional curriculum at Montessori Visions Academy - in addition (at no extra cost) they include gardening, STEAM, music, art, library, computers, language immersion (currently French and Spanish), and best of all Yoga in their weekly curriculum! Every single student (from infancy through 12th grade) gets a custom lesson plan and one-on-one lessons. They get a lot of out door time and the maximum class student-to-teacher ratio is 1:12! Since they utilize their time wisely throughout the day/school year, there is little need for homework and although testing is not a part of the Montessori method, they value the importance of preparing the student's for life in a more traditional world so they do prepare them for test-taking.

The community is fantastic - we go on play dates, sleep-overs, parent's nights out, etc. together frequently. We have really made some life-long friends here. Around the time when my son entered first grade, I began to worry that I might have him in too small a bubble but that fear was easily put to rest. We experience much of the same "troubles" one would face in a large or traditional school but the difference lies in the communication and support that we receive from the administration, the staff and teachers and the other families.

After 6 years of attending Montessori Visions Academy and serving on the non-profit Board of Directors in one capacity or another, I decided to join the family as a member of the staff. It has been a wonderful, exciting year full of learning and growing and I look forward to many more years here as a parent and as a staff member.

The Montessori Philosophy is intelligent, practical and applicable at any age. Montessori Visions Academy is THE standard in education. The teachers at Montessori Visions Academy are true ambassadors of Montessori education and all that it can achieve.

The Montessori method is an amazing tool that helps students that learn differently progress and thrive. However, I had to pull my child from this school. Whilst there are areas that he thrives in, he is still lacking in his ability to read. It appears they don't know how to help a child that didn't start with them in the preschool years get up to par. Without the basics, ie reading he will never progress. Saddened, because I know if not for that small feat we'd continue our journey with them. Yes, I've been working with my child one-on-one with help remedy this issue. Also, as another parent wrote you definitely feel nickel and dimed. Searching for another Montessori school.

The school is overall great for preschool: teachers are committed, community is strong, the kids feel valued and learn communication skills. Impressive community. One strong negative is that as a parent you will feel nickel and dimed. Constant extra fees are expected, which for a private school charging a hefty tuition is at it's best a total nuisance. Surely you could raise the tuition $300 to cover everything down to the school pics, yearbooks, snacks, special events and field trips and stop nickel and diming your clients? Think like a parent! Try to save them time and provide a WOW service, and you will see it returned to you in terms of more referrals and support. I highly suggest not taking holidays that the public schools take. Parents work, and the reason we pay a private school is in part not to get public-school levels if service. Again, "Think like a parent!" I also strongly urge you to pay your staff SUBSTANTIALLY more: your teacher/staff pay rates are tragically low even for Las Vegas and you are lucky that so many of your good people have stayed with you. They do complain about the pay in private though, and frankly that's going to be impossible to stop when the pay is so low. You need to be thinking on the order of a 50% higher pay to get in line with what a responsible school would do to retain their key resource--the teachers! Again, if you need to raise tuition some to make this happen, so be it, but remember that it's fairly easy for parents to see that a large portion of our tuition isn't being used for teacher salaries or to keep the lights on. Follow the golden rule.

There are not a lot of good private school options in Las Vegas, and especially Montessori schools, so I was nervous about choosing a school for my daughter. But I've been very happy with MVA. The teachers are great, and the director is involved in all aspects of the school and seems to be trying hard to build a school community with the parents. I've found the teachers to be very responsive to any concerns or feedback as well. The academics are excellent - my daughter has learned SO much already and is happy and thriving here. She's become very independent and has learned many practical skills that kids much older still haven't mastered. The biggest drawback is the location - it's in a commercial area near the airport, which isn't ideal, but the kids aren't outside the gated area unless they're being picked up or dropped off, so it's not a big issue. Parent involvement could also be better, but it's something the school is clearly working on.

My daughter has been in this school for a year now. I cannot be happier. She loves her teacher and her school. I am impressed with the teaching methods. My daughter is not even 4 years old and can read basic words. She started adding numbers and she can write many words as well. The staff, from the Director/ owner to all the teachers show real love and respect for the children. I am thrilled that my daughter is attending and recommends the school to everyone.

One of the worst private schools you can put your child in!!! Don't waste your time and money. They really don't know what there doing unless your looking for a daycare... most of good teacher's left along time ago. Very unprofessional .

MVA has a very nurturing environment that encourages children to stretch and grow at the pace best for each individual. The school director, is a warm and caring professional who truly loves her staff and the children. She is fully committed to the Montessori approach to learning and works hard to maintain the integrity of this method. We have three daughters at MVA. When we recently discovered that our sixth grader had a math learning disability, MVA staff worked together to help her learn math differently. There was no hesitation in taking her back to the initial concepts to retrain her. Her middle school teacher creatively adapts lessons to work with each student's learning style. The upper elementary teacher is devoted to helping her children catch the vision of independent learning. My daughter idolizes her! These teachers give their ALL to these kids and due to their support my daughters have grown in self confidence and ability. We are a large military family, moving every 3 years. I can honestly say I have never seen a school try harder to help each child learn according to their own abilities and learning style. I cannot imagine a more committed staff than MVA's.

I am a teacher who moved to Henderson this past summer, and was offered a m.s. teaching position at the beginning of December (their current m.s. teacher was moving abroad). The offer was verbal/over the phone, but after the principal (Mrs. Bossy) strung me along for 2 weeks (she rescheduled 1 appointment and was ill prepared for another), she called to tell me it was "no longer in the budget." I was impressed by the classroom I observed, however, I found this treatment very unprofessional, short-sighted, and cruel. I still wonder what happened, because regardless of budget, don't you need a teacher in the classroom? Regardless of my own disappointment, I don't think this move says much for the leadership and budget management at this school (I was willing to work for a mere 30k, and I have a M.A. from Johns Hopkins).

My son is on his third year at MVA and we are very happy with his progress, his teachers (his curent one is amazing) and the administration are very supportive. We did not realize how great we had it at this school until we pulled my son out for K to attend a new charter school in town, that was an absolute disaster and MVA welcomed us back with open arms. I do not have a perfect child that does well just anywhere, but at MVA he is appreciated, loved and nurtured. I highly recommend this school and truly believe they embrace the Montessori Method.

This is the first year our child attended Montessori and it will be the last. Our child is not receiving the education we thought we were going receive. The teachers are inadequate and are unresponsive to our questions and feedback.
