We have had such a wonderful experience at this school! Four of our children have attended, and we have been so grateful for the amazing teachers and staff who have supported our family over the years. The teachers truly care about their students and have created a positive, welcoming environment where our kids have felt supported and encouraged to learn and grow.
We have been very happy with the education and experiences our children have received here. It means so much to know that our kids are surrounded by teachers who genuinely care about them and want to see them succeed. We would highly recommend this school to other families!

We absolutely love Glen Taylor! I have four kids going there this year and each one of them LOVE their teachers and I do too!! They are the kind of teachers who go above and beyond to make for each student feel loved and individually cared for. I've always felt supported by teachers and staff there which has motivated me to be active in the PTO and Glen Taylor community!! Such a good village to be a part of!

Our family is very happy at Glen Taylor. We have been here since 2021 and it just keeps getting better and better. Our youngest is now in kinder and LOVES her teacher! The office staff is always helpful, the teachers are hands down amazing and their GATE program is phenomenal. We also have experience with the speech teachers who are committed to helping our daughter speak clearly! The Principal and Assistant Principal are warm and welcoming as we arrive to school every morning and always there if you have a question or concern. I highly recommend Glen Taylor and are so happy we are a part of this community!

We came to Glen Taylor Elementary from a private school, and I was understandably nervous about the transition to public school. However, our experience has been nothing but wonderful. I have two children attending Glen Taylor, and I have genuinely loved every teacher theyve had.
I joined the PTO because I wanted to become more involved and understand the school from the inside, and doing so has only made me appreciate it more. The teachers, staff and families have created such a welcoming and supportive community, and Im so grateful for the friendships and sense of belonging it has brought to our entire family. We are truly so happy to be part of the Glen Taylor family!

Glen Taylor has been such a great school for our family. My son has had wonderful teachers throughout the years, and we have always felt like the staff truly care about the kids and want them to be successful. He has also had great opportunities through programs like GATE, which has given him additional challenge and enrichment.
One of the things I really appreciate about Glen Taylor is how much there is for kids and families beyond the regular school day. There are clubs like Garden Club with Mrs. Simon and Sports Club with Mr. Kulikowski, along with PTO events like Harvest Festival, Trunk or Treat, and family game nights. There always seems to be something going on that helps kids feel connected to the school.
We have had a really positive experience at Glen Taylor and are grateful for the teachers, staff, and families who make it such a welcoming community.

Weve been a family at this school for 10 years, spanning all three of our kids, and have had such a great experience! The teachers and staff have high expectations for their learners while still creating a supportive and welcoming environment. There are always fun PTO and school-sponsored events that really help build a sense of community, and the GATE program is absolutely amazing. Were so grateful for all the years our family has spent here!

The community is very friendly and welcoming. My daughter attends pre-K, and she wants to go back to school every day, which says a lot about the school. Communication with the teachers is great, and my daughter feels safe, supported, and welcomed as an ELL student. We are very happy with the school!

This school is horrible the teachers are not only mean but dont care about you what so ever. I used to ask for help and they would either ignore me or just say nope. The teachers are not good at their job. They dont actually teach. When I got to middle school I didnt know material that I needed to know to pass the class. I almost failed 4 classes in middle school at different periods. The school is unsafe. Kids used to fight all the time with students and teachers. There were fights on campus all the time between students and students and teachers. I heard cursing from 1 grade to 5th when I gladly got to leave to middle school. In my last year here I didnt even have a science teacher. I just got an extra class that didn't even teach science. All I learned was how to code on code.org. When I got to middle school I almost failed science 3 different times. I would never even think about sending my child here. The teachers are mean and disrespectful not to mention non- helpful and dont care about mental health what so ever. Do NOT send your child here. NO MATTER WHAT!

The overall teaching quality appears low, and students are not given homework, which negatively affects their learning While my experiences with the teachers themselves have been positivethey are kind & supportiveit is clear they are unhappy, likely due to poor treatment from the administration. My son got food poisoning at school, almost died, no apologie was made. Security/safety is a big concern, most of the time, no text message to alert you if your kid doesn't make it to school
The administrations interactions with both staff & parents are consistently unhelpful, complicated, and unfriendly
The atmosphere they create is cold and unwelcoming. In particular, the principal, Tara, is extremely difficult to reach. She has not responded to important emails which demonstrates a lack of accountability & concern for parents or students alike
Unfortunately, the school reflects this leadership style. The current culture is unwelcoming and detrimental to both staff morale & student success

I enrolled my 3rd grader mid school year as we moved from a different state. I was so worried about my daughter adapting. I was in constant communication with her teacher Mrs. Fulbright. She was so understanding and kind. (& funny) She put my concerns at ease. I am very happy with GT and their administration staff. My daughter sustained an injury and the administrators made themselves readily available to talk re: my concerns.
Overall, I am beyond grateful we found this gem of a school.

I have two children attending Taylor this year. We previously attended a high ranking charter and then a private school in the area. I must say Glen Taylor has exceeded our expectations. My kids love going to school each day. Very few to no tears at the end of the day, unlike previous schools we r attended. They are getting a stellar education. My Kindergartener is now reading very well and enjoys school, his teacher celebrates his accomplishments with him which really boosts his motivation. My second grader loves her teacher very much and is engaged in class. They enjoy the specials as well, especially the music program. The community overall is great. Every person on staff and the parents alike are there to make sure the kids gain the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. Our only complaint is, we wish the school could find a new science teacher, because science was their favorite special of all.

From what I hear the teacher's children can get away with bullying. A teacher's child has been bullying students for way too long but he had no consequences yet. Even teachers are aware of that....

Today i was upset with the school because they didnt notify me that my sons school bus was going to be late. I was worried and I had to drive to school to check what was going because the school didnt answer their phone. When I got to the school they said that the bus had just left and they still didnt give me an explanation why the bus was late. They need to communicate with the parents more about this stuff but instead they have us worried.

Their motto is all about kindness and it is strongly enforced! When I volunteer at the school almost all the kids I come in contact with all say please, thank you, excuse me etc!

My son in 2nd grade has had very nice and patient teachers.
Posted: January 15, 2017
In 2nd grade my son usually has about 30 mins or so of homework plus a 20 min reading at night.

This is my 1st year with this school we moved from the East Coast this summer and my son is in 2nd grade. So far I have nothing but great things to say about the Principal, office staff, teachers and PTA!! All so welcoming and despite what you may read online about Nevada school systems being low rated...this school definitely has high standards with their curriculum similar to some of the best schools around the country!!

I am a retired elementary teacher with grand children at this school. I tend to be quite "picky" when it comes to choosing the best for them. I feel that they will receive the best education possible at Glen C. Taylor. Years of experience and interaction with the fine teachers at Taylor comprise the basis for everything I say that is positive about this fine school!
Posted: August 19, 2016
Many teachers on this staff have been there since the school opened. They are professionals who deserve the support and respect of parents.
The teachers here are the reason that the school is such a success academically. The teachers are always updating their curriculum and staying on top of things technologically. They teach a well rounded day with just enough fun to keep kids interested.
Posted: August 19, 2016
Generally a child should have 1/2 hour of homework for each grade level: K=1/2 hour, Gr.1 = 1 hour. When you look at group projects and individual research papers etc. done in the upper grades, I'm sure you will see the fairness of time spent on homework. As a former teacher myself, I know that homework determines the child's progress in all areas. It is undeniable necessary!
Posted: August 19, 2016
Glen Taylor practices all of these values by rewarding them regularly with Titan Tickets which are given by teachers and staff to students who display these character traits no matter how small the act. Students are proud of this school and happy with the teachers who recognize their value.

The administration, leadership, teachers are great. My daughter started 1st grade here and she was lucky to get a great teacher, Mrs. Buldoc. Her class was 20 kids and we had some pretty involved parents, that makes a difference to the teachers load and the kids learn more. The schools PTA is very active and encourages parents to get involved. Overall we had a good experience. I would wish for a bit more academics but it's hard for teachers to move curriculum faster as there are those kids that didn't do kindergarten and were too behind. My daughter came from a private school so she was ahead but she still improved and learned, we also do work at home just like all the other top students in her class. The public system can only do so much academically, it's up to the parent to spend a little bit of time w the kids to get them ahead. Overall it was good enough that we decided we are not going back to the private school which we loved but financially was tough. The school is big on Kindness and respect towards one another. As far as I could tell there was no bullying and the kids and parents were very friendly.

This is school is not friendly with kids who struggle. I had my child there for 2 years and she was not striving and got no help. Additionally, we did not receive much information about programs, sports or field trips. This school fails on a level of communication that is key to the success of your child. The staff was very hands off.
Posted: February 4, 2015
This school is terrible. I had my son enrolled last year for 2nd grade. The teacher refused to help us when we asked for additional resources or help or to get together to discuss his failing english grades after she was late getting grades to us and gave us no warning that he was failing until then. We would spend hours with him on homework and weekends with no help from her. Additionally, we came to pick him up once and they had lost him and he didn't reappear for over 20 minutes and the teacher had no idea that he had ever left her presence! My friend walked straight through the office and into the school once without knowing any of the staff or having anybody ask her who she was! Our son failed the second grade and could have easily been kidnapped. Additionally, they offer no talent show or any medium like that which I though was odd.

I really enjoy this school. My 9 year old has been here since kindergarten and he has enjoyed every year. Next year, our youngest son will start kindergarten and we are sure he will have the same enjoyable experience.

Love this school! The front office staff and faculty are wonderful! I thank my lucky stars that my daughter has such a fantastic school! Even the lunch lady is wonderful. Thank you Glen Taylor staff!

Taylor school has the best front desk team, especially Kay, she was very efficient at the beginning of school with all the craziness with the office being crowded and everyone needing help, Kay took charge with a smile on her face all the time...very professional
Posted: December 3, 2012
Kay in the front office is the most miserable woman on the earth. Why she is seated in the VERY FRONT of the office is beyond me. She NEVER greets you, never speaks to you, you have to say HI to her first before she will even look up, and even then she still doesn't say hi, she waits for you to tell her what you need. Ridiculous!! If she's so miserable she needs to quit. Other than that I am happy with this school. This is our first year in this state, town, school and other than KAY, Glen Taylor is a good school.

I have mixed reviews about Glen Taylor. PTA communication is 1/10 with 1 being the lowest. The office staff is very moody and not very personable. Sometimes they are pleasant other times they are just DMV cranky. The school nurse seemed inattentive when I was telling her about my daughter's health concern. I walked in and was not greeted or noticed for a while even though I stood right in front of there desk. Homework isn't graded in Kindergarten. The only time you find out if your child needs help or improvement is through progress reports where the teacher says isn't accurate. Teacher to parent communication is 3/10. Sometimes we are informed of what to expect in advance for the following month, many times we don't. I've ended up calling several other parents trying to figure out what's going on just to learn they are doing the same. Kindergarten is mostly about performance not much on what is known & learned. My daughter actually asked for EXTRA work because she was bored. What is great about the school are the kids. The kids are great. Most parents are active in their child's learning within the classroom and out. My daughter is in first grade now, we will see how that goes.

Amazing! I have a child with ADHD and his teacher Mrs. Curtis is the best thing that could have happened to him! She is amazing and a wealth of knowledge and caring. The principal and Vice Principal are great and the kids are excited and happy at the school! Couldn't ask for more!
