My experience with this school as an alum was disgustingly bad. Bullying and school fights were a major problem for me and my friends. There are so many bullying incidents that i could name that involved me and my friends but I would surpass the text limit. There was one time where a bad kid was making fun of my budget headphones in 7th grade PE, another kid made fun of me because i had shorter hair back in my 6th grade Robotics class and for having a fat butt, another time another bad kid was bullying us by kicking the ball away from me and my friend group so we couldn't play with the ball, and the PE coaches were definitely no help with that incident. Every time someone bullies me and my friends at PE, the coaches definitely didnt give a splat and it took three complaints for one bullying incident for the coach to tell them to stop, wich leads me to my next problem, the teachers and staffs' commitment to enhancing students' cognitive abilities. Teachers and staff are just present in school for payday and dont care if a student is being bullied. They have little to no experience in teaching and it doesnt seem like teaching would be their passion. It takes multiuple complaints of an innocent student being bullied just for the teachers to send the bad kids to the office (which gives the bad students less punishments than you think, so they just keep bullyuing since they don't care). The only good teachers and staff that truly care about you are teachers that have a passion for teaching and the counselors. There is one counselor for each grade level, so if you want someone to talk to about school stuff of stuff going on at home, the counselor of youre grade level or a teacher that has a passion for teaching is the perfect person to talk to. Although it does seem like all of the students are bad, there will always a student or two thats jsut like you and looking for a friend like you. Other than the supoport you get from mostly the counselors and teachers with passion for teaching, this school is overall horrible for learning (because of teaching methods), teaching (because teachers show very little commitment to enchancing studnets' cognitive abiities), safety (because there are at least 3 to 4 fights per week) and social and emotional support from teachers (because most of them are just there for payday).
Take this from a recent alum who had the full 3-year experience with Findlay Middle School: DO NOT GO HERE, THIS SCHOOL IS BAD FOR LEARNING OVERALL!!!!!!

I'm going to be completely honest in this review, but this school isn't the best. and to be even more honest, after all the schools I have gone to, this is by far the WORST. Sure, some teachers are nice and caring, but most sometimes just DON'T CARE. For instance, I am crying and/or being bullied, the teachers don't care unless it is addressed by a STUDENT. I personally love my friends, most of my teachers, but they just need to be more..clean. Thank you.

SOME teachers dont take responsibility of what goes on in their class room. My kid got hit by another student, and never was notified! the teacher didnt even make the report, other kids had to come out and report it to a counselor because same kid was still hitting people. Teachers clearly dont care for their students, at least this elective class teacher. Although it was just one teacher and the staff, it says a lot about the school.

This school is horrible. I had so many horrible incidents happen here. And the school did nothing until I had to threaten to sue them. They allow kids to bully each other and disrespect each other all the time. The school is horrible. I do not recommend going here.

This school sucks as a ex-student of this school who is currently in highschool please avoid taking your children to this school. This school has teachers who don't show up/absent 24/7 some classes don't even have assigned teachers which is ridiculous, don't even get me started with the children at this school. If you send your child here you setting them up to turn out like the bad influences here or your setting them up to be a target for bullying.

This school if filled to the brim with transphobia and bullies in this school, me personally I have been threatened by other peers of mine that they will jump me, and have been harassed about my gender and multiple people have walked up to me to say this 'joke' saying "my friend wants you" and have also been harassed about this as well. Also multiple people that I know have terrible experiences on their teachers, it's clear that the principal is not involved in any reports of bullying, as an eighth grader I've only ever saw him five times over the three years I've been here. If you care about your child and your childs education I do not recommend this school.

Let me start off with this, THIS SCHOOL SUCKS I RECOMMEND TO STAY AWAY FROMT THIS SCHOOL.
I am a current student and last year we had 4 real hardlock downs and while it was going the students were so loud and when there is no teachers they stuff all the students in the gym or the theater. Students cuss at students and teachers without punishment and random kids will pick on you for no reason. Also at this school the teachers can hardly control this students! I DONT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL!!!

Still at this school as a 6th grader, I got here in 2022 and I thought it wouldnt be that bad but no. I have been made fun of many times by random kids I didnt know and the teachers seem nice and stuff but the kids dont respect them at all, even when they get in trouble they just smile about it thinking they were so cool and the kids vape here which they dont get caught with for some reason. The fighting is out if hand too and I dont know why it gets crowded when theres a fight. I just wanna get homeschooled or move schools at this point because I know its gonna get worst over time

I just finished reading these reviews and half of what they are saying is right. The teachers are meh more than half of my 6 teacher act as if they would rather be any where else than be teaching us and some of my teachers arent actually are teachers and are just subs because no one wants to work at this school. Also if you dont want your child around alot of cussing THIS IS NOT THE SCHOOL FOR YOU the teachers cuss at you(with reason)and the students are not afraid to cuss you out either(with adult around or no adult around).I found it easy to make friends here because you can always find someone like you here. The lunch isnt bad here there is a salad bar here if you would like to eat healthy and the snackshack or bending machines and everything ranges from $1-$5 for snacks but lunch is free you just have to pay for snacks.Another thing I saw alot about this school was the fighting, the fighting could be worse but we did have a week in school were there was about 8 fights in a week but after that the fighting calmed down by alot. The work is easy and i moved here from a different state and the standereds were alot lower here, so if your worrying that the work will be hard it really wont be its kinda like one big review from what i had learned in my previous school.

She has had no complaints but for her bus driver assigned seating but since that dose not affect her physically or mentally I think this school is fantastic. So far no good. My son was attacked on the way home and subsequently all the kids who lied and told me he "fell" are the same kids that blamed the whole thing on my child. Not to mention these are the same children cursing like sailors after school daily. I am disappointed that an attack is considered a mutual dispute to this school.

This school can't keep good teachers. They have no award ceremonies, no crossover ceremonies for 8th graders. Their rules are ridiculous and this may be clark county school district as a whole. Their communication between parents and school lacks greatly. Nothing is sent home to let you know what is going on in the school and their website is never up to date. The front office people always seem like they have attitude. Just not a good school.

My oldest son went to this school for 2 years. There were constant fights after school with students. It was a battle to get answers from the staff when needed. I pulled him out of this school placed him in to the K -12 program for the rest of his middle school experience. He had a great time with home school even made the A/B honer-role. Now he will graduate in a year.
But now his little brother has come of age to leave Watson elementary & experience this middle school. Leaving elementary with straight A honer-roll & an excitement for moving on to bigger & better things, but now that he has been in this school for a while he has lost interest in many parts of school. He has complained of fights after school. He has had grade issues that could have been easily fixed by the teacher, took a call to the councilor to get straight. When talking with the staff they act like we are an inconvenience to there time. My sixth grader feels like most of the staff do not care about anything, especially students. This makes it hard to have a good relationship with the staff . Then they have that stupid standard student attire. this is where there was meant to be a test . A test that went wrong. this was to see if the clothes a student wore to school would change there grades . But it had a strict line it had to follow . Like any test this has to be followed by the letter to get true results. this has to have a result filed to show how well the test went. There is no test anymore the results were tainted when each school added there own part to the (S.S.A) so test over end test. This is absurd to interrupt a childs school day over the wrong color shirt or the shirt not having a collar, sending them home or to in house suspension or even to give them a suspension over clothing is ridiculous. This is worse then a prison. The school principle has a choice to opt out every year but this school wont. The one that is in place & has been in place for so long. this (SSA) cost more money interferes with education is as much of a hindrance of freedom as there could ever be Yet some schools like this one still enforce it. All in all this school was not a good school several years ago & as of so far it is still the same. To see my son go from loving school to not wanting to go to school there is some thing wrong . Don't listen just to me just see for your self.

The staff doesn't do enough when kids are being bullied. The class/homework in some classes seems to be meant for the students to fail. Also the school does not communicate with parents. If I had a choice right now I would move out of this school zone so that my children didn't have to go here anymore.

If you are new coming into the state this school will be ridiculously easy (like it was for me). The Nevada Education system is quite possibly the worst in the nation. The teachers at Findlay do not care about the students until they reach 8th grade. The 6th and 7th grade teachers do not care about the students at all. The 8th grade teachers treat every student like their own personal child and will do anything possible to help out. Due to coming from a different state i was taught everything that is taught in 6th and 7th grade. Most students outside Accelerated class' do not care about school but instead worry about who is wearing the newest Jordan's or KD's. P.E. is a joke. Parents are constantly left out of the loop on what's happening at Findlay. As long as you do your classwork with reasonable effort you will get an A in every class. P.S. Join AVID as soon as you can it will help you with the teachers and get you better grades because the teachers will know you more. Also, get involved in after school AVID meetings and Student Council (which is honestly just sitting around talking with friends) so *as stated above* you can get to know the teachers and get better grades.

My daughter just finished her first year at Findlay and had no problems or complaints, I read some of the reviews where parents are complaining about the school, one parent admits that her child is " a bit of a trouble maker" the other parent says "my child is 3 years behind" maybe these parents should get involved in their childs education, my daughter was on the honor roll in elementary school and now at Findlay, she has a structured home work schedule provided by ME her parent, she has never been in trouble at school or anywhere else, once again I her parent provide a structured home environment many people try to use the excuse that they are a single parent for their childs behavior or lack of behavior, I am a single parent and none of my children have ever been in any trouble, I have never been called to the school by the admin. due to my childrens behavior, for the people trying to blame the school system for your childs academic short comings maybe you should first take a long honest look at your parenting skills

Clifford O Findlay is one of the best schools I can say their is. Teachers, Staff, The Principal are all on top of the education of the students and one of the best things BULLING is NOT TOLERATED in this school. I feel safe that my child attends this school. Findlay is also one of the cleanest school in clark co.

Clifford o findlay is not the best school ever, and it's not the worst either. I agree with the teachers about the students that don't want an education and NEED TO BE KICKED OUT OF THE SCHOOL BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE ATTENTION SPAN OF A GOLDFISH. The teachers spend too much time dealing with them than actually teaching. Other than that the teacher are wonderful, and that the parents of those students that misbehave shouldn't blame the school or the teachers. They should blame themselves, their kids and should stop writing bad reviews about the school when MOST of them haven't actually watched their kid at school every moment. To support my reason the kids run in the halls and say inappropriate language. I mean I have gotten all A's in all my classes here and it's pretty easy ( I have all acc classes ) so yeah I rate this school 3/5 stars.

I LOVE this school. The teachers there are the best! Even if they seem mean. And trust me, a few of them are. But they are actually nice. Atleast, sometimes. I went there for 6th and part of 7th grade. Fortunatly, I had to move. I cryed to sleep everynight for a long time. I am now a week away from starting 8th. And not being at Findlay is painful. I have good memories from EVERY day there. I love love love love love! this school. Yeah, there are some fights, but maybe one or 2 every 2 months. There are always teachers there to immdialty break it up. I miss it there and want to go back. I mostly miss my best friends. This school is the BEST!

The CCSD must stop the hostile environment we have the right to take back our school and community must never cease to attain this goal. Our children should not hate and/or want to leave their school, take the problem out! Change our administration censure his actions, call and complain! Do not listen to their "You must follow protocol" they are working at our discretion and serve at our will. Make that call..... 799-5000 ask for the acting superintendent's office and tell them the horrors being endured by you, your neighbor, a child or even those faculty who speak against sobaszek.. Get a public concern form, demand it. Then the document must be addressed. Talking is useless they only have ignored, condescended and swept under the rug any complaints. So go to the top demand action, say no to protocol and yes to our children and community. Their is no leadership it is a dictatorship full of incompetence in the administration, Intimidation and arrogance are the tactics. Safety should be top priority, not at Findlay.. Education is woefully lacking. Only the dress code is important and adds to our children losing precious academic time. Admin is a steward not the owner!

This is my daughter's first year at Findlay. She is in the 6th grade. I have no problems with the school so far and my daughter has mentioned only one minor problem. She is doing very well in her classes and has 4 accelerated classes. She has 4 As and 2 Bs so far. I especially love the online ParentLink site to get daily updates on her grades and assignments. The school is very clean and organized. I have went to one Parent-Teacher-Student conference and it was done very professionally and the teacher showed great interest and concern. My daughter also attends the after-school classes for one hour and those are very helpful. She says the food in the cafeteria is good and she has had no problems with either teachers, staff, or other students. She did mention that she has been in the hallways that are used mostly by 7th and 8th graders and there seems to be a very bad smell in those hallways. The hallways that are used primarily for 6th graders is OK. Overall, I give Findlay very high marks.
